I do French seams also. When I trim the selvages off, I fold the pillowcase in half and then trim both selvages at the same time. Love your tip on the directional prints. I have never done that before. I have used the French seam method with my grandkids and former FACS students! 😊

Why not cut the directional fabric a bit longer and cut the front and back apart, flip the upside down one right side up and sew the fabrics back together? Yes, it’s an extra step, but then both sides are going the same way.

Well I am certainly disappointed . The reason I started watching this video is because I have quite a bit of that directional fabric and I had to figure out myself how to make it look normal. Sure I did learn one thing about having to have one and a quarter yards but she really should’ve shown us how to complete the project.
I’m just wondering at which point do you cut your fabric? I will have to make a tiny mockup.
Also I have made so many of these I can’t even begin to count and I will tell you that when you were pinning the cuff and the accent piece and the main fabric you want to start pinning in the middle and work your way out to the left and right side not like how she was doing it
