    recently started a warrior because of all the stuff i have seen on them and being in a party with them. Also healing on sage or doing dungeons with dps and seeing how crazy they are on soloing bosses in dungeons when the healer or the whole group goes down, currently lvl 62 and i am absolutely loving it so far. Done a few low level dungeons so far and currently farming prae/castrum for the moogle treasure trove event. Everything u have said here will help a lot, love your videos so informative and you dont just say do this and ur good u explain it so that new players can know what to do correctly. Because for some reason they decided to make the healing on Holy Circle *not* count per enemy (which is how it works in PvP btw) so PLD only has pretty flat healing at all times, unless you want to spend a gcd on Clemency. PLD requires 4 braincells to sustain itself without a problem.

    I know it probably seems like common sense, but since you included stuff like reprisal, you should probably mention that arm's length is a tank cooldown. The slow you inflict on enemies basically makes it a 33% mitigation. (In dungeons only though).

    • @LuminNox
      @LuminNox 3 роки тому +2

      Tenacity scales really bad. It might be the "tank stat" but it will change almost nothing in a fight, since a 1% mitigation or whatever you get from it will still not make the healer need to cast less heals on you. That's why you want to increase your damage as much as possible and Az explained the correct order for stat priority in his video for this. The faster you kill your enemies the less damage they can do.

    • @citruscenturion
      @citruscenturion 3 роки тому +2

      Tenacity changes almost nothing for tanks, and WAR requires different materia builds regardless, since inner release already guarantees crit and direct hits. For WAR, it usually goes crit > sks > determination, since crit stacks (whereas direct hit does not), and sks is still somewhat necessary for inner release and weaving.

    How come skill speed is always talked about in terms of the time, 2.45, 2.47, etc, but in game it is shown as a number, i.e. 1300. I've never been able to find a proper explanation for what stat number equals what time.

    Is there a way to tell how much more crit, determination, etc. can be melded on a piece of gear? I just crafted a full 580 set and am trying to figure out how best to meld all of the available slots using the crit > determination > everything else guidance.

    • @LuminNox

      You always have two sub stats on a piece of gear, one being on cap (the higher stat) and one being below cap (the lower cap). You can't meld anything past the cap so the higher sub stat on the piece of gear indicates what the cap is.

    • @AzuriteTV
      @AzuriteTV  3 роки тому +1

      Hmm, good question! I think its more a case of how busted Bloodwhetting is in Dungeons, which makes it seem weaker on single target, but its still incredibly strong! But if you're wanting to get as much value out of it as possible? You'll pretty much be using it off cooldown, except if you know a Tank Buster is coming up in the next 25 second window of the Bloodwhetting cooldown. I hope that makes sense!

    a few quick questions: I see you use 2 different Nascent Flash macros as well as the base ability on your hotbar. I've been looking for a clear answer on why to use the macro, and while everyone says it's a good idea, I can't find an explanation why. Could you (or anyone else for that matter) break that down or link something that explains it? Is there a difference between the 2 macros? Why also have the base ability on your bar?

      Hey thank you! To answer your question, the one not macroed is just legacy, I haven't bothered taking it off since they made it so we cant use Nascent on ourselves. The other 2 do have a purpose though, the first one being for the 2nd in my party list, which is always the other tank and the other one being a mouse over for anyone in my party, so I just hover over them in the party list, press the button and then give them nascent flash :)

I always see everyone say get skill speed to a certain number, say 2.45. But they say materia meld crit. Do I have to materia meld skill speed first? When I was messing around on my pally (going for the skill speed you recommended) I had to meld A LOT of materia to get that skill speed. I will note I have full Limbo (except pants) and Hyd weapon and then a mix of moon and limbo accessories. So I am just a little confused lol.

    • @AzuriteTV
      @AzuriteTV  3 роки тому +1

      Hey, you'll want to prioritise crit above everything else as a WAR, after that determination and if you can't meld anymore crit or det then go for tenacity, as WAR does not benefit much from Direct Hit. You also might want some skill speed to hit certain GCD threshold, not too much but I like my WAR gcd to be around 2.43-2.44. So it's Crit > SkS (until a certain threshold, not too much) > Det > Tenacity > Direct Hit. Hope this helps!

      There are a lot of things he left out of this video. Some things he has said in this video that are not true either but no one is giving their perspective or maybe they need it to brought to light.
      For instance he's limiting information about what a tank should be focused on and never talks about the role attributes. Doing that shows that most ppl are in a sense, diminishing the developers programming. Too many players are trashing the Tenacity attribute and saying it's useless. So they don't even put it in for BiS purposes. Then he talks about mitigation but Tenacity is for that purpose. So why didn't he mention it in the video? Then the invocation of tanks doing DPS will only get ppl to ignore Tenacity. It has gotten so bad that ppl are trying to dps as healers. If you want to dps then do a dps job. Tanks and healers have their roles.

    • @LuminNox
      @LuminNox 3 роки тому +2

      @@pileus_storm Azurite has uploaded a general tanking guide where he's going over role specifics for the tank role. This guide is specific for WAR only. FFXIV's roles are not that limited as you point them out to be. Tanks are there to take the big hits and mitigate damage BUT they also have a dps rotation for a reason. The faster you kill an enemy the less damage it can do to you. Tank (and Healer) DPS contribute a lot to making a run shorter and therefore smoother.
      The idea of Tenacity as a stat is good on paper. In reality it doesn't scale good at all. The maybe 1% mitigation you get from it at most doesn't make a healer need to cast less heals on you. Therefore it's better off avoiding the stat as much as possible because the other stats just benefit you and the group much more. Trust me in that point, it's been theorycrafted for years and Tenacity as it is now and ever has been so far isn't a good stat. I know Azurite and I know he does his homework.

      I don't disagree. This skill speed threshold is only if you want to get 4 GCDs under bloodwhetting, which you don't really need but it does prove valuable in progression scenarios. Like doing Savage or Ultimate progression

      Thank you! The glamour in the thumbnail is the warrior level 90 artifact set "Pummelers attire". The glamour I'm using in game is as follows. Headpiece is Demonic Horns (Cash shop). Chest piece is Limbo Chiton of Fending (Normal mode raid gear "Asphodelos"). Hands are "Far Eastern Nobles Armlets, legs are "Eastern Lady Loincloth" and boots are "Eastern Lady Crakows" All of which are from the cash shop. Except the chest piece of course! Hope that helps :)

    Is it your favorite job because it is overtuned rn or because of its actual design?
    I see a lot of warriors around which is funny because the warrior community was really negative about the EW changes before they figured out how busted it is. It seemed the overall consensus was “oh they’re dumbing it down again”.
    But now, since it’s so strong people won’t shut up about how amazing it is. Funny that.

    GNB at 90, ilvl 575: I have a breeze in dungeons and normal content. I'm just beginning to dabble in extremes. Dark Knight at lvl 74; it feels just... messy and scuffed and poorly designed. Because of the Conan-appeal that a warrior has I just had to start leveling WAR today and that is what I'll bring to savages once I get into a tired dads'/moms' static.

      Correct, which is why we meld Tencity instead, I might not make it super clear in the video because it was still kinda early in the expansion and Savage wasn't out yet, but now Savage is out I might make a general gearing video for all tanks, to clear up any confusion

  • @Nasgatemk2
    @Nasgatemk2 3 роки тому +1

    I'm curious why the single target combo is used for opener. Does it just line up better with most raidwide buffs? I've been enjoying opening with the aoe combo because it gets your personal buff up with one less GCD, two if you want to start with 60 seconds.

    • @AzuriteTV
      @AzuriteTV  3 роки тому +3

      Yes it lines up better with raid buffs. Also the single target rotation is doing almost 3x more raw potency over the AoE rotation, this is why we only use AoE on 3 or more targets. Surging Tempest is important but getting it up 1 GCD sooner isn't the way to go because the overall potency we are losing doing an AoE combo over doing a storms eye combo is pretty big, as I said almost 3x more potency.

    • @Nasgatemk2
      @Nasgatemk2 3 роки тому

      @@AzuriteTV Actually, using 6 GCDs, starting with aoe then doing single target has a gain of 16 potency. 2 storms eye combos vs aoe+one storms eye combo+1 Heavy swing.

      @banriswirl6414 3 роки тому

      There might be some random fight down the line when shifting everything forward one GCD can gain an IR use, but otherwise the potency loss is just too huge.

    • @Nasgatemk2
      @Nasgatemk2 3 роки тому

      @@banriswirl6414 i mean 200 potency is nowhere near huge. I imagine it's good to think about for solo content or if there's an early burst window to force/skip a phase change. AoE is a faster rage builder too for another potential strategy, getting your big burst window 2 GCD earlier.
