Nice video for the new players! If you plan to ever go for Necro, just keep at it and eventually you'll have 99/99 and enough potsherds to buy 1,000 potions before your real push attempts. I made roughly 70 million gil going for EO and HoH solo clears by just selling the potion drops and items from hoards. I got 3 mounts from POTD worth about 20M each before I finally cleared 200 solo. If you are having trouble, go WAR or MCH even if you have no clue how to play the jobs. You'll learn! WAR is tough to die before you get to the 180 boss once you get 99/99. Even after that, your biggest concern is running out of time or traps/treasure rooms.

Great video! I'm a sprout, halfway through HW and really want at least one sexy red weapon from PotD, while not really caring for the Necromancer title. For that I need to clear floor 100 while farming aetherpool. So, just to make sure I understood correctly: start two files and play with them alternatively 10 floors each?
Thank you for responding to my comments bud much appreciated! I ran WAR and MCH and am enjoying both! I didnt realise lvl was capped at 60 so PLD would have little to no damage lol. I find WAR much safer due to traps, while farming (currently at 53/48) I haven't died on my WAR but my MCH has died 10 times. Couple times because my armour wasn't high enough against bosses but mainly because I'm kiting if I hit a trap I'm done for lol. Basically mo heals on MCH where as WAR has alot. Takes a bit longer on WAR but if I play MCH I have to clear every enemy in every room or I'm worried too much that I'll die! MCH is not good IMO for ather pool farm. Once I'm 65/65 I'm sure I'll be more confident. Loving the deep dungeons tho! Are you still playing them or are you done with them?

Hi im new to ffxiv and have been playing for a while. Im on the 90 floor set as a warrior solo, and my atherpool is 70/70. Should i level more or can i do the floor 100 boss at this point?
It will partially come down to the job or class you are using, but my experience any job will be fine through F51-60! An important thing to make sure you have for the F60 boss is Strength and Steel on, and possibly a lust to help you out. Without at least a Steel, the boss will hit pretty hard, especially if you do not have Sustaining Potions. If its still tricky, lemme know your job and I can replicate it on my end and let you know if its truely possible or not o/.
@@lonesome6637 Reaper actually is one job that does very well in general! Yeah make sure you have: 1) Max Potions to use, or higher if you have done HoH or EO 2) use your shield often 3) Bloodbath is fantastic for heal returns 4) Steel mandatory on F60 boss If you do have any Sustaining Potions, which you may have if you climbed from Floor 1 as you'd get a free potsherd clearing F50, you probably need 1 mayne 2 max on F60 boss. If you're still having trouble, let me know~
PLD is not as favored by most. On paper it doesnt quite stack up to what WAR brings, and PLD's behemoth is probably the more difficult of the 4 tanks. With that said, I always believe in "fun" and "preference". If you like PLD, you should 100% at least try it and see how you feel. There is a thing where you may love PLD but hate both WAR or MCH for whatever reason. And I believe playing a job you truely enjoy will go way better than forcing a job a lot of says "is good". You want to have fun in deep dungeon, and all 21 jobs and all base classes have cleared, afterall.
I know I need 0 deaths on both files to get the necromancer title but if I have 1 file with 0 deaths and use the other file to farm. Can I just delete the file with deaths on it and have my main file with 0 deaths on it and get the title?
Yes! They are separate entities and dont cross over. It's pretty common for runners to use both save files for various reasons: farming, double setup files, so forth.

After a failed run is it wise to spend the aetherpool and get back to somewhere near 65/65 before the next attempt ? Or am I better staying 99/99 and worrying about weapons farm only after getting necro ? And what is that sweet spot equivalent to 65/65 for starting a run of the other deep dungeons ?
One thing I had done in the past was get 2 grips / dip my Aetherpool to 79/79 before I started a fresh run. Usually by about 120~ I was back to 99. Nowdays you can probably dip it to 69/69 or get 3 grips and still be perfectly fine, especially if you are still progging floors. Then perhaps after you get your title you can exchange a lot more at once and rebuild in the future. For HoH, I'd suggest 60 or even 55~ is good! I had actually cleared HoH on WAR starting at 0/0, and I had watched an amazing gamer clear Lone Hero in 2 attempts starting from unlock. They got to F78~ on their first run, then cleared the 2nd run. EO however I wouldnt recommend starting lower than 70 or 75 while we are in Endwalker (Dawntrail could change!). With lower Arm you feel the damage loss, but also with demiclones very common from F51+, the rate of upgrades will be slower than HoH in comparison.

I'm trying to gather grips ahead of time for viper, and wanted to do it as efficiently as possible without dropping my aetherpool to 0 incase I wanted to actually attempt a solo run in the future. Hmm let me try to understand your question. If you mean "lvl10" as the floors, then yes! You're only commited to a set of 10 floors. From Duty Commence to Duty Complete. You can come back later, next week, next month so on. When you finish a set of 10 you are placed in like a specific hub area but you can leave anytime! Floor 50, or maybe you mean Floor 51, is just a higher floor. Different enemies, different layout, further along in the Floor 200 of PoTD. If you need further clarification let me know!
I'll highly recommend having a Steel running for the boss, and if you picked up a Lust to use that to help you down him faster, along with a Strength. @ Hmm it seems farming aetherpool starting on floor 51 with machinist is just too risky because I can’t do as much dmg as you do in those videos with arm +40 and if I cannot find lust/steel from chests (I couldn’t last run, bad luck) there’s simply no way to survive the boss.
@anilanar MCH will definitely be superior on damage and mitigaton via kiting. But if you do take damage you are pretty vulnerable. WAR will be less on damage, but your defense is super good and durable. If kiting is not your style, WAR can be great!
Couple checklists for you and if anything clicks let me know! - Were you under level 35? being 33 or lower will make the boss way harder in general - Are you using "Hi-Potion HQ", which drops from F11-20? Sometimes people leave on like max/super/hyper on their bar, as it would be the highest tier potions, but will return a really bad amount of HP vs. Hi-Potion HQ and its cooldown is way longer - Did you use Steel? Definitely recommend having steel on for all bosses especially if its your first few times through (I use steel all the time for bosses) - If you have Sustaining Potions, it will make the fight super easy to survive, so you could just use those. Lemme know whats up and I'll try to help o/
I'm having trouble with the 30th floor boss on MCH at level 51, near 20/20 Aetherpool, Steel + Strength. Even if I am doing the mechanic correctly and kiting, the damage is outpacing the CD of the Mega-Potion and I die about mid-way through the fight. All the previous bosses on floor 10 and 20 never came close to having this sustain problem. It's a shame I had to waste 1 hour of my life to find this out, with no other takeways from it...
Hmm. If you haven't tried opening with a Lust, that can definitely help drop the boss a lot faster. You can also consider popping the tier below potion for the slightly faster cooldown. If all of that isn't helping, let me know because I can run it on my end with a similar scenario, get it on video, and see what comes to mind!
@@Angelusdemonus Maybe the boss was just getting unlucky crits? But I'm honestly afraid to try again at my aetherpool level. Then again, trying to grind it higher might be a waste of time doing floors 0-20 over again, since my weapon/armor aether was already something like 19/17. I don't remember what my health pool was, but I had the feeling that the Hi-Potion would give me overall less HPS than the Mega-Potion? The health potion situation is just stupid, needing to do mental gymnastics to find the highest HPS potion for the specific level and health pool. I wish they would normalize them all and have the highest potions always heal the most HPS. Not this weird 3-factor approach with different % health amounts + max HP value + different cooldowns.
Are you using Sustaining Potions along with the potion? They might be hard to get starting off but if you manage to get a potsherd to trade for them it should help

It got very tight, but it's definitely doable, although I do stress I don't exactly recommend it, haha. Unless you seriously wanted the challenge, I'd rather encourage you to look into building a 2nd file up as you will get upgrades especially at 19/17 (or lower) from even Floor 1-10 at a decent rate, or you will pick up a bunch in Floors 11-20. Then when it reaches Floors 21+, you can take the original file in! This would definitely bridge the gap to make this a lot smoother! I'd probably get yourself to aim for like 25-30 aetherpool if anything. I understand your frustration with something like this, but it's one of the tricky parts of PoTD especially when trying to build the floors and aetherpool solo. It wasn't really designed to tackle it solo, but there are ways to pull it off, it just needs a bit of extra patience. And perhaps it would still be faster to run back the floors versus getting a party together.

As you've been subbed for publicly for 2 years and perhaps have returned(?) since you had gotten or worked on Necromancer, I'll run down a few things that have happened: - Multiple jobs have been updated and changed on how to execute in Palace of the Dead, which means old VoDs and runs are obsolete and needed updates. - Strategies are continually updated and improved as players get better and better at the content. - Eureka Orthos, the 3rd Deep Dungeon released in 2023. - PoTD appeared on AGDQ2023 (I was the runner). - Xbox gamers have joined FF14 as of March 2024. - New players to this day continue to begin their journey through all 3 Deep Dungeons for the solo titles. As long as people are still doing the content and as long as I still love doing the content, then I see no reason to do "something new". Actually, with Dawntrail approaching and releasing, all current information will adjust with new jobs and abilities, and all new players will arrive to FF14. I will continue to provide useful information to those new and current players! We are also expecting a brand new Deep Dungeon in Dawntrail, which will draw the attention to all the previous Deep Dungeons as Eureka Orthos has for HoH and PotD. I would absolutely love to help any new players as I have helped yourself in attempting Necromancer and beyond. Guides don't make themselves, after all! Guides like these are niche info that I feel I haven't covered before, and therefore wish to cover them so the information is much easier to find (hopefully). I will also point out since the 2 years you've been subbed that I have beaten 18 different games on stream, 2 of which on this channel during livestreams since we were able to simulcast to UA-cam as of recent. 100%! It might be a bit slower to kill, but you are completely fine (if you haven't tried already).

How do you beat lv51-60 boss with ~35/35 aetherpool as MCH, it hits so hard and I hit so little, I die within less than a minute almost.
I'll highly recommend having a Steel running for the boss, and if you picked up a Lust to use that to help you down him faster, along with a Strength.

I can do runs with war instead, which is much easier and probably as fast as mch. I was just trying to understand the hype about mch.
