So you ran the wire from the 'back' wire to the blue and black / black purple wire in your reverse light. Sorry for posting on old video just having trouble with mine working out which wire to put it to in reverse light

Sorry to bother you I got a android unit in 1 series 3 wires ACC BACK and CCD plus 12v do I need to connect the back wire to the reverse light in order for the camera to work? Also can you not connect the 12v wire to the back with the red rca wire and then connect rhe power wire to the reverse light ?
I think that I have worked it out. The "CAMERA +12V" is actually a gated 12 volt supply, which means that it only outputs 12 volts when then the car is in reverse or when a panoramic option is selected. This signal is thus used to power the reverse camera. Alternatively the reverse camera could be powered by a line from the actual reverse light, And so this line could be used a the "REVERSE" signal that goes back to the head unit. Obviously the use of the "CAMERA +12V" line is a much easier choice.
Hi mate how did you get the idrive side full screen? i get the horrible half screen with the useless infor on the right hand side, i'm guessing i need to code the HU resolution?

Couldn't have them wires on show if I did that, that brown wire that dangles freely from the boot everytime it's opened isn't very good.

It may not have picked your car up, i dont know... ive hot a m135i now and when i put it in reverse a one series comes up
My OEM reverse camera was stolen .. can I buy an aftermarket to connect to the OEM system ? Or would I have to rewire the whole thing 😢
Some people are just scum! Unfortunately you'd have to get a OEM camera as everything would be different

You can do it that way and it should work as I done this on a friend's 3 series
Did you have any issues of the reverse camera suddenly pop out of nowhere when the car is running? Or when the headlights turned on?
No issues at all everything worked perfectly

Yes mate if you go to the settings in the camera part you'll be able to disable them
