40 Min Intermediate Yoga Flow | Yoga for Backbends + Core Strength

- Welcome to your 40 min intermediate yoga flow. This class is great for intermediate practitioners and focuses on core strength and backbends.
The sequence includes a steady vinyasa flow with plenty of breathing time in each pose so you can experience it fully. We will focus on opening the chest and shoulders as well as strengthening the core muscles that support the spine, so you are ready to work towards postures like bow pose and mermaid.
I will offer different options throughout class so that you can make the practice your own and choose the variation of the posture that works best for you today.

This was the juiciest class I have in quite some time! 😂 Can I tell you a secret Charlie? I slow down the speed of the video since I like to linger into the poses longer. Your classes have made my body more flexible and stronger! Thank you so much Charlie fir being such an amazing teacher! ❤
I slow down most all exercise videos in every category to 85 percent. It’s helped me tremendously to not be all herky jerky. I think it’s great of you to mention it 👍

Oh I love this idea. Sometimes I like to keep it moving but some days my back doesn't want to go the same speed as Charlie lol. I need more time to transition between poses. I keep forgetting this option. Charlie you have definitely improved my yoga game. I am forever grateful to you for all the time and thought you put into creating these videos. Thank you 🙏

Thank you. I'm 55 and had a 15 year daily devoted yoga practice, 10+ years ago. While I"ve continued to practice from time to time over the past decade, the more intermediate/advanced stuff fell away. I tend to avoid backbends because my lower back gets tight easily, but I knew you'd take care of us as far as warmup and cool down! Loved this flow so much (as usual). Thank you!

A "counter-twist" class for me after a grueling training weekend of rides and runs. 😊 This full sequence made me aware of how tight my back is because I'm locked into an upright position when running or riding my bike. Needless to say that backends have always been challenging and something I do not enjoy 😅. Backbends bring out my inner wimp 😂 and i whimper in the pillow we make with our hands when we release each time. But, that is an edge I willingly go to each time backends are cued because I believe in my body's capacity to learn and get better with time and practice. Thank you for this class Charlie. 🙏 ❤ The body scan at the end felt nourishing as it allowed me to be keenly aware of how each part of my body received so much today. Your classes are so put together Charlie and I know you give much preparation and effort into each one. So thank you for sharing your gifts and your beautiful intention of bringing each and every class to so many of us who benefit from it. Be blessed in turn. 🙌

Loved this flow sequence - challenging yet relaxing.
It allowed me to drop a lot on the mat emotionally, which was a good release.
Especially liked: side twists, working towards bow and extended meditation-shavasana (and Wild Thing as always 😊 ).
It was my first time trying Mermaid - managed to get into her on the right side but not the left.
Something to work towards...will come back to this session on days that I feel strong.

Great flow for such a lazy sunday! I really liked the transition from sideplank to wild thing. Mermaid needs more training. I collapsed on both sides😂 but thank you so much for these incredible yoga sessions. I really really enjoy them 🎉 and ❤ to Finn
Same! Mermaid felt ultra wobbly, and I fell every time I tried to lift my arm! I think it has to do with hip flexor tightness and maybe not activating the quadratus on the side of the bound foot? Definitely going to put this class on repeat! 🔥🔥🔥
One side was a bit better, but as soon as I was able to place my foot in the elbow and wanted to bind, I just felt on the side like a bug, unable to move 😂

The Low lunge with leg hold was very intense for my shoulders. I noticed a lot of fuzzy, feelings in my belly, some sort of flight response. And it felt really good to breathe through that. Also I enjoyed mermaid. Was my first time doing it :) Thank you for the work you are doing, putting this inspiration out there for us ❤
