I respect the fact that you believe in flushing things out and giving the body time to obsorb things in it's new state, apposed to afflicting unnecessary uncomfortable pain. Great job!
I love how you just casually drop big boys of wisdom. The stuff about helping your client transcend the pain rather than become avoidant to it? Brilliantly reminds me of the Buddha's second arrow lesson! Fantastic stuff. Thank you!
I have been doing this for 30 years and I love the way you do your technique... ... I have had some people think I'm too SLOW... when they don't realize that (especially) working on Body Builder it take Strength and Stamina to work the deep tissue of the muscle... and not harm the nerve ends... You are GREAT... and I love this video/tutorial ...
I'd love to hear an example of how you communicate with the client about the specific work your doing on the trigger point, especially how you message to the client about changing their patterns and letting go of the tension. Thanks for these amazing and informative videos!
Trigger point therapy can be taxing on the thumbs. I use my knuckles to apply pressure and relieve tension from a trigger point. I hold it for a min and let go. When a client comes in again the knots are usually gone.
Thank you for the clear and down to earth way of explaining. I am not a person who can concentrate on instruction videos for a long time, and yours was finished before I knew it. Thanks!
Hey, I have been watching your videos for a while now and I must admit your body work is amazing! I can tell you really take care of what you do and it's amazing to watch how fluent and graceful you treat your patients :) Keep up the great work :)
If you ask 100 chiropractors they’ll give 50 different answers; 100 doctors 100 answers, 100 PTs 75 answers. If you ask licensed experienced massage therapists they all do this or a very slight variation thereof. I believe massage therapists are the only ones who know how to actually fix trigger points and in part that’s due to human touch releasing & healing. trauma
OH LORD, I could truly use u right now. today is one of those days I wish I could massage myself. Thanks for each and every video you have posted such great material. Pammie from Chicago IL
You have vastly improved my attention to detail, the way I approach a muscle(s) and encouraged me to keep seeking and being curious. Thank you ever so kindly!
Trigger point are treated with more care and communication with the client and essential oil that aids the release of pain is very important , good one 👍
omg! finally i found someone that i can learn with. Your work match so much with mine, and your technics are so great. its like you are in my mind and you understand me! So happy to feel i can really trust your videos and feel your hands as if they were mine because you aply the same technics. Thanks for sharing and explaning so well
Great video. she keeps doing the same thing on the same spot because she is doing a trigger point massage therapy. This is basically targeting painful irritated areas in the muscles in order to break the cycle of spasm and pain in a particular area of the body.
Do u get sore thumbs hun. Id love to c vid on that on prevention/ mechanics etc and maybe a through the clothes massage prone on table i have a client who cant handle any oils moisturizers on skin as rashes turn to permanent mole type things and i just cant do it properly without any slip i had to send her elsewhere i just felt unconfident and incompetent doing it ooo and a chair massage . You and massage sloth are my ultimate teachers. Love you both . Big huge hugs for sharing your knowledge with us it is inspiring xxoo
I agree these are two of my favorite channels, massage sloth has a video on giving a massage to a client who is fully dressed, I hope that helps, it was a great video
Great video you have a very caring strong strong pair of hands ,excellent technique, thanks for the video, I really like that scapular technique at the end I will try to incorporate into my massage
After the tissue is warmed up (efflereuge) you are supposed to go to the second step and petrisage...seeking out, milking, kneading the individual muscles..
Thanks for the video, Allison. How do you feel about using lighter modalities to effect change deeply? Energetic work, Swedish, etc, to bring down the nervous system and help the body release in that way?
I believe that if you believe in something, then it will work for you. Meaning, that if a client is wary of deep tissue work and you have proven yourself to be proficient with energy work or lighter modalities, the connection between client and therapist can often be exactly what is needed. Every dysfunction has its own backstory that will dictate how it responds to different modalities. We are all different! Hope that answered your question...
I appreicate the demo and explanaion, super helpful! But I can't use my thumbs or wrists for treating trigger points. Do you have a video using your elbows? Or can anyone recommend another technique treating trigger points?
This was incredibly educational 👍🏼, relaxing and dang it I wish I could find another you close by!!! I do have a question, not required to answer of course, I was “diagnosed” by a physical therapist probably 4-5 years ago with trigger points on both sides of my spine upper mid back. Well the question I have is I was told mine are long in shape or form and “calcified”. He explained them as being calcium deposits/calcifies muscle and the only way to “get rid” of them was over time applied pressure would break up these calcium deposits and then my body would naturally break up the rest. I’ve researched this beyond just YT videos and can’t find any info on “calcified trigger points” and how to break them up. I haven’t had any work done to them beyond what my at home tenz unit does since but the pain is far worse now and I feel like the areas are bigger or spread. Anyways wanted to see your perspective if possible and why no one mentions the calcium part of trigger points
Great video, thanks so much for posting it. I recently got your Shea butter and Inflammation butter and they rock! You're right, they are so awesome. I'd like to learn how to make my own but until my recipe is perfected, I'll be a customer!
Hello. Thank you for this video. I shall practice this and add it in my routine. On a different topic, where did you get your top layer blanket? I'm searching for a blanket that's neither hot nor thin but has a bit of weight.
Once releasing a trigger point how long between sessions do you recommend before going back into the same area to see if they’re back and releasing them again? I’ve got a client with chronic back pain that we were able to get some released a few days ago and he pain went down to a 4/5 from a constant 7/8. However, it’s creeping back up. What is to optimal time between?
I have HORRIFIC trigger point issues in my right side from my ear all the way down my arm. What can I do to help with this pain myself at home in addition to provider therapies?
Thank you for sharing! I love the refresher on targeting the trigger points but also remembering to give tender love and care and keeping both therapist and client of what’s going on; especially being a therapist myself. Thank you!! On another note:: Is there any way to learn how to release a twisted rib from the sternum to the back? (I have recently got an injury myself-slept wrong and old mattress🤦🏻♀️😑)
Hey !! love your videos!! ❤️but i have a small question : was this a full hour of only back and stretching or you did the whole body 🤔 hoping you have the time to answer 🤗🤗 ...again love your videos. I have learn a lot and my clients love me more now loll
May I ask, where are you located? Chronic pain in this area. Tried everything else and just learned about trigger point therapy. Thanks for your reply.
I thought of a couple other questions! Do you have any tips for working on bodies where muscle tissue is incredibly hard to soften - ie scapulae that are not very mobile, etc. Where do you stand on table height, do you tend to work with a higher table/lower table and why? Thanks so much.
The first part of your question is a little too difficult to answer in this small space. In general, though, getting tissue to soften is a combination of many efforts. As for table height, I keep mine about at the recommended knuckle height or a little lower for deeper work.
i had hard ones to soften and thats when she told me i didnt have proper hydration once i started drinking water properly it did help you really remind me of her you guys are god sent the ones who really take this serious that is
Before you flip them supine from prone, would you finish low back and lower body massage first? Or should pulling the arm and scapula movement be done immediately after releasing trigger point?
I use my knuckle head for trigger point so that the nodules was spread and then apply swedish or therapeautic massage...am alternative medicine practetioner frm da Philippines
I’ve listened to this particular sentence a few times just to make sure I got it right. Seems like you’re saying, that you’re warming up the connective tissue around the muscle “so that the connective tissue liquefies and I’m able to sink directly into the muscle”. This is the first time I’ve heard that connective tissue can liquefy?? Where can I read about it in more detail? Where did you get this info from pls? Also, even after numerous massage courses I’ve done, I’m still not closer to understanding of trigger points. When you say “knotted up” muscle, I always thought that “knot” was smth ordinary people use to describe painful bumps in their upper traps (I never encountered those in any other place - how come??), but what EXACTLY does it mean? Frustrates me, that I cannot find any proper medical explanation to this. If you have any pointers, pls share!!! Thank you.
I respect the fact that you believe in flushing things out and giving the body time to obsorb things in it's new state, apposed to afflicting unnecessary uncomfortable pain. Great job!
What does that even mean 😂 Flush out what, absorb what?
@@Adelicows the vibes 😂
Flush out lymph
That was beautiful that 4 AM worker round the border of the scapula made me drool. And then when you wretched across the body to cradle under oh my.
I hope you understand that spelling was not my idea. I'm doing talk to texts because I have a hand treatment on my hands right now, sorry.

Same thing I was thinking 🤔
What do you think about the elbow? That’s what I use.
Thank you for the clear and down to earth way of explaining. I am not a person who can concentrate on instruction videos for a long time, and yours was finished before I knew it. Thanks!

I can't wait until I'm this comfortable working on my clients! You know the body so well. Thank you for this amazing lesson.

I love my job so much that I even enjoy watching you do yours.
Love the way you explain things. And those pictures on how ppl treat trigger points 😂😂😂😂
Allison you are awesome! I noticed her entire back dropped away from her scapula after the first trigger point demonstration. Awesome stuff!
OH LORD, I could truly use u right now. today is one of those days I wish I could massage myself. Thanks for each and every video you have posted such great material. Pammie from Chicago IL
Oh man, I could use this! I had painful spasms last night and this kind of therapy is what the Dr. ordered.
I can tell your receiver feels well cared. Amazing bodywork and audiovisual production.
As a new LMT and really wanting to know more about TrP. This vidoe is very helpful and has shown me more techniques to use on my clients.

Continuing ed courses. Would love to train with you hands on. Great work! Thank you
Let's keep this thought going and pray we can have this gal as our teacher for a hands on class someday soon!
Great video. she keeps doing the same thing on the same spot because she is doing a trigger point massage therapy. This is basically targeting painful irritated areas in the muscles in order to break the cycle of spasm and pain in a particular area of the body.

I appreicate the demo and explanaion, super helpful! But I can't use my thumbs or wrists for treating trigger points. Do you have a video using your elbows? Or can anyone recommend another technique treating trigger points?

Nice vedio,I feel so comfortable ❤
Hello. Thank you for this video. I shall practice this and add it in my routine. On a different topic, where did you get your top layer blanket? I'm searching for a blanket that's neither hot nor thin but has a bit of weight.
I think I got it at Target a couple of years ago :)
It would've been nice to have this client describe how the massage techniques used here helped her. Her feedback would've helped.
These days, my shoulder is painful but i can't able make a treatment for myself although i know a little above techniques.
Love your videos. So therapeutic 😍
I've had trigger point therapy for my neck and it was very very painful. I'm hoping for something better on my shoulder blade.

Manipulating the skeletal system is out of my scope of practice. But I think I good chiropractor would be able to help!
Very easy to understand well done thankyou

I ask them to tell me when they start to feel the release.
Amazing!!
🥰
I can't find a good video where somebody just goes to town on muscle knots. Like really punish the muscles ya know.
7upinCider because that’s not good. You have to melt into it so the nervous system doesn’t freak out.
Where did you go for training? Any suggestions?
I have a legit serious question how do I see a massage therapist? Is it the same thing if I go downtown and just walk into a massage parlor ?
Type in massage therapist near you. And book an appointment kind of like booking an appointment to go to the dentist.
Great demonstration, before and after with simple technique to adding our best aftercare "love"!
This is what I need
