This system is great, but the thumb release needs to be beefed up. In pushing it down, it feels like it wants to bend off to the side. If AG can design a new thumb release to use with this holster it would be perfect and worth the full 100 bucks for the entire kit. I'm planning on using this system without the thumb release until this issue is ironed out. Hopefully AG takes note and goes back to the drawing board for the release. I'd buy one to install on the holster if this was done. Other than this, the entire system is great. Im comparing this holster to my safarilands, rapid force duty holsters and and blackhawk 7 series by the way. The rapid force is squared away. Give this kind of build quality attention to this thumb release for the shapeshift paddle holster!
It definitely not ready to wear,my screws backed out from part that attaches to the paddle....AT WORK...embarrassing check all screws make sure they tight don't know if it's my fault for not checking or problem with screws backing out...love the holster still💯

I ordered a of these but it didnt come with the alien paddle instead it came with the slide paddle. Thats not what ordered. The pic clearly showed and said paddle holster withe alien clip. So now what? Can u send me just alien head?
I own an Alien Gear Cloak-Tuck 3 and except for a problem with the the single bolt supports that allow the holster to pivot, I love it! It is only adds 1/4" - 3/8" to the width of the weapon. I was concerned about the modular system adding too much thickness to the weapon when being worn. This video exemplifies my concern, as you can see that the width of another gun can fit in between the weapon and the body! Is the IWB this thick? Alien Gear, please reply.
Hi Michael, your holster shouldn't be pivoting at all. Have you tried tightening the retention? Is it the shell that's doing this or the clips? Also, do you have the Cloak 3.0 or the 3.5? The IWB ShapeShift Shell is actually a little thinner than the Cloak Shell making the overall holster thinner. We look forward to hearing from you!

My paddle is crooked how in the hell do you adjust it? The whole alien face is crooked. It also said the M&P 9 2.0 wouldn’t fit in the original M&P 9 holster and it does...
It is supposed to be a little curved to help you grip it. Hey Alien Gear! Is this holster compatible with the width of my 5.11 belt? Edit* Referring to the attachment where the paddle is removed and your belt lides through. Worried about th belt width being an issue.
Depending on the type of belt you have, as long as it is no larger than 1.75" it should work just fine with our holster. You can also adjust the retention of the paddle to better fit it if all else fails.

I'm an old fashioned leather holster guy and use one for a 1911 when I open carry on occasion. Looking for a retention holster that doesn't break the bank. I have 4 Savoy Leather holsters and use on for daily IWB carry with a Shield 9mm. Gonna give this holster a try. Thanks again.

Are the surface mounts multi use? Such as between 2 different alien brand holsters like say 1 for a Springfield armory hellcat and canik tp9sf?

How secure is that surface mount? Someone could easily full your entire holster off your belt.
Thank you for watching! There is a tab that should hook under the belt to help keep the holster in place. It also comes with a belt slide attachment.

Easiest way to remove it is to just slide it around toward the appendix area.

Yes! ShapeShift is a level 2 retention system in all of its carry configurations, except for the Pocket Carry and OWB Slide carry options.
