I've had mine less than a week and will never wear it anywhere. It's only good for covering the trigger on your gun while it's on your nightstand. And only after I removed the thumb release, (that fails most of the time) and loosen the retention screw so you can easily get the gun out of the holster. These things are mostly garbage.
@@MAGAMAN did you come here to cry to everybody??? Nobody cares you dont like it 🤣 everybody is different take ya opinion for yourself and move tf on cry baby ass boy LMAO
Came across an Alien Gear video yesterday that involved an employee of the company but a "bigger" guy like myself. He was giving tips on using AG stuff and what is comfortable for him. I found that video very informative and loved that they were thoughtful enough to include a bigger frame, most vids/ads are slender build people talking about how comfortable their stuff is.
Pure garbage from my perspective. I just bought one and won't wear it because it will probably fail when I really need it. Hell, the thumb release fails more than half the time because it is so poorly designed.
@@MAGAMAN What holster are you talking about? The shapeshift doesn't have a thumb release. Inless you mean the level 2 retention, but as sootch showed it works quite well. I don't understand how you can say its garbage when you just got it and haven't even really used it.
I absolutely enjoy using this product. It's comfortable, easy to change configurations, and easy to use. If you want an amazing system for whatever you're doing for the day, I would highly recommend this kit. I even have the shoulder holster, and the leg holster from Alien Gear, and it's all fantastic.
Got the shapeshift core pack for Christmas 2 years ago. Since then I have bought 3 more holster shells for other pistols and it works really well for me. Comfortable, good retention with adjustment.
Honest review here as a 170 pound in shape male. Was super excited to finally try a holster out from these guys. Worst holster I ever used. Super bulky and prints worse than any other holster I have used. The holster not being connected at all points to the back pad is nice because it forms to your body but the more it bends the more it prints. Think about it, the further the back pad bends away from the gun, the more the gun will stick out. If they had a wedge or something it would help. I think I could conceal OWB better than I could with the 4.0. Plus it was fairly pricey. Just some food for thought before you spend the money. Thankfully they have the 30 trial.
i wear the IWB shapeshift every day .. you buy one starter kit and shells for other guns and you are set for life. everything they put out is so good. toolless swaps and adjustments. been sold since i put my first one on and look to alien gear before anywhere else.
I like Clint Smith's take on extras and technology ie lights, rmr's etc. His philosophy was don't put that crap on your guns. The only things I need for a carry gun is a good set of night sights, a good holster and ammo. Great video, Sootch.
What good does having night sights when you can't see what you're shooting at?? Never understood noobs obsession with night sights.. and a light is hardly useless technology..lol.. I love Clint Smith but I'm guessing he goes to bed before the sun goes down and doesn't need a light.
@@Snowy0123 I carry a light just not on my weapon. Also, it's very rare that you would shoot in total darkness. I probably have more experience with firearms than you have years on you.
A tac light on your firearm is most definitely NOT useless. Luminate your target with two hands on your firearm. If they were ," useless" I highly doubt police officers and every branch of the military would have individuals using them.
Glad this randomly came up in my recommended videos. I've got one of the original IWB holsters AlienGear made, and I absolutely love it! It's getting time where I've got to replace the backing due to wear and tear from the age, and I've seen this at the local shop in the area and have debated on getting it, but your video just sold it, thank you.
Just bought the alien gear core carry pack. Did the IWB one. Was super comfortable and no imprint. Been walking around the house w it and sitting on the couch and forgot i had it on. Best investment hands down!
Oh, wow. It's been in the back of my mind to buy an Alien Gear holster at some point, but I didn't even know they offered something like this. I'm definitely interested in getting one sooner than later, now.
I'll be honest I tried two different alien gear hybrid holsters. And I will admit they are a very innovative company. But I still prefer and use the horsehide crossbreed, and the cowhide galco king tuk. They are much more durable IMO. There are just too many little knobs or buttons that can get pushed rendering that alien gear holster useless and fall apart. I prefer the good old brass screws with some red loctite, and a thick quality leather that just gets better and better as it ages.
I bought this kit a couple months ago, and was pleased to find out the shell fits my G19, 23, AND 27. In 40 years carrying a firearm this is the most comfortable IWB I have ever owned. I’m VERY happy with this holster system.
I just got the aliengear 4.0 for my shield . Excellent holster IWB . I forget I’m wearing it . Smaller then it looks on video , lighter then it looks ,very soft backing . It looked bulky to me but it isn’t ! First carry holster and it is a 10 .
I have this package with lvl 2 retention and I absolutely love it. It was money well spent and actually is a great deal. I would strongly recommend it.
I read so many negative reviews on Alien Gear. So I bought custom Vedder holsters. The Vedder were cheap and not remotely worth the money. So I gave Alien Gear a try. I was blown away! They are super nice, well built, and everything fits perfectly. Now I own this pack plus I have 6 other Alien Gear holsters for my various handguns.
I think the aliengear shapeshift set perfect someone new carrying a handgun. It gives 4 different holster option to try out and decide what you prefer with out spending a bunch of money on 4 different holsters. $100 for the shapeshift set versus $60-100 per holster.
Exactly why it was my first holster and I don't regret it. I have couple of kydex options now and Alien is still pretty much my favorite. Comfort, price and modularity. Can't beat it. Now if we could just get them to add rdo cuts and maybe light options. 🤣
Well they certainly thought of every kind of adjustment possible and I can see the holster for outside the waistband carry but shoving all that plastic inside my waistband or down the front for appendix carry would be sort of ok till you try to sit down, and that's my problem not everyone's,the comfort factor.Yiu did an incredible job explaining it though and go USA built products.Thank you sir for all your contributions to our 2A movement..
I've carried my Glock 29 in one since 2017 and love it. One day noticed the shell had cracked, sent them an email and received not one but two replacement shells. I've yet to have any complaint with them or their priduct. Looks like I may be ordering a new one after watching this. But what do I know, I still swear by a serpa holster. Love the channel, keep up the great work and God bless.
Ive had this exact kit apx 3 years. This system is VERSATILE & DURABLE! I tend to go to this variable setup 90% of the time. 1 kit replaced 4 holsters! Its not overly complicated. I love this system especially the price!
I absolutely love this system. It’s been my every day carry system for my Glock 19x and SA xD-40. Definitely the most comfortable holsters on the market. When I’m able, I’ll be getting more for my other carry pistols.
you did a heck of a job showing everything and how it will look and how you put it on your person!!! loved all of the video! it helped me out on if I should grab the kit or not and i definitely am lol
its making me want to replace my 2.0 i originally had the snap loops on but wanted the belt hooks. but my belt hooks were not smooth for some reason and would scratch my side. the 4.0 just look leagues above the 2.0.
I've been using mine, I love the idea you just purchase the shell to adapt to another firearm. Great customer service, shipping took 8 days, Im figuring because UPS handed it off to USPS I pay UPS pricing for USPS service.
@@coreycummings8662 Sorry if this is duplicated. I IWB my P365 ,SW 9 & 45 Shield and is a comfortable fit, Im really not crazy for IWB, my absolute favorite is I purchased a Carhart lined short jacket, I turned it into a vest,it has 2 large pockets one on each side large enough to pocket a pistol,no printing and easy access. Carhart is missing the marketing on this one..
This is a great review and helped me make my decision to purchase these shape shift core for my Smith and Wesson shield. This was such a great review they should put you on pay roll.
Carried my G2C for about two years in their Shapeshift 4.0, very few complaints. I did have one incident where one of the clips got bent outward and would not clip over my belt. I'll take the blame for that since It happened when I sat down and the clip got caught on a piece of my car, and all of my weight fell on just the one clip. Bought a new one for like 8 bucks online. Despite having only one fully functional clip, I still was able to keep the gun secured and my draw practice was unaffected while I waited on the new one. Needless to say I'm very happy with it and I've been carrying my new M&P in one for about 3 weeks now. Love it!
I recently bought into the shapeshift platform to mount a pistol on my plate carrier and I couldn't be happier. The system works well and has options which is always a plus.
I have the 2.0 cloak, and that you can adjust the retention by tightening the allen screws. I've been using it every day for 2 years. I love it, and the way it distributes the weight my 1911 is a pleasure to carry.
Sootch00 thank you posting this video! The instructions that came with my AG system were too vague. I was about to return the darn thing until I saw your video. I was able to set up my IWB without a problem after watching this. Also Id like to mention this thing is really comfortable!
Had a 2.0 and went to the 3.0 IWB and just ordered the 4.0!! I won't buy anything but Alien Gear, and hope I never have to!! Thank you for this great video!!
I have used Alien Gear since the very first get go. This is the best of all my holster. I still use what they call the cloak tuck and there holster is #1 for my weight and build. I hope one day to own this new style.
Love the core carry pack! I use it everyday and have had zero issues whatsoever. I like having the option to switch my holster up to fit whatever carry style that I need for that particular day. I’ve read the complaints and all I can say is that everyone is different and so are their preferences.
I have the ShapeShift Holster system, and here is my review. The IWB setup is the most comfortable IWB I've ever tried. The Appendix setup is too bulky for my body type and it prints too much. The OWB is very good, no complaints. The Paddle setup is new to me. I've never used a paddle holster before, so I don't know what to compare it to. But I don't really like the thumb break release very much. It is functional, but set a little far back for my preference. My preference is the IWB. Is it worth $100? I think it is if you want to try out different setups without buying 4 different holsters. If you only want one type and know what kind of holster you want, save some money and buy that single holster. They offer the ShapeShift IWB by itself for $55.88, which I definitely think is worth the money.
Thank you for such a comprehensive review, Sootch! I was considering this system and now I know it's the one I want. Edit: I ended up buying it for my glock 19 and it's wonderful.
I have read some reviews that it becomes very uncomfortable when you start to sweat, specially in hot weather states (like Texas). I see that your edit was 2 months ago...is it still working good after a couple of uses?
@@ulisesb8697 well with lock down being what it is I haven't gone many places. I did want to see how it would be for all day and just had it on me with my glock all day while working from home at my desk, walking around the house etc. I'm in Illinois so it hasn't been hot here. All that said, after a while I stopped noticing it was there. Nothing was poking me or uncomfortable in any way.
@@ulisesb8697 Glad to help however I can, bro. Actually my glock was my first fire arm purchase after moving out of the People's Republic of Chicago before all this crazy happened. Cheers going forward and stay safe as well.
I was considering purchasing this kit, now after this Its a no brainer. Thank you for the information. Very clear and well spoken, easy to understand. I'm now subscribed, I look forward to more of your videos
My P365 XL with Romeozero red dot fits like a glove in the shell designed for the pistol and there is protection of the optics as well. I'm impressed with the fit of the shell, Sig does not offer anything that fits so well in addition to protecting the optics. Haven't tried any of the various configurations other than the IWB, it is the most comfortable I have ever had so I keep it set up that way. You could easily sleep wearing this thing and probably not notice, after an hour wearing it for the first time, the holster it sort of disappears and you forget you are wearing it.
I love love love my holster from them.. It is a well made product from a company that cares and has a lot of experience with the issues we all face when concealing .
I use the Alien Gear Holsters ShapeShift Starter Kit (what it was called before Core Carry Pack) for my S&W M&P SHIELD. 40. I am continually rotating between the OWB Paddle, OWB Belt Slide, & AIWB Configurations (except I carry at the 3-4 o'clock position for AIWB). I also have done the CloakTuck 4.0 Configuration but not as often as the others. I am thinking of getting the Shoulder Holster & Drop Leg expansions (when have the funds to do so). That's the nice thing about the ShapeShift system is all the options available for carry. It helps that I'm about a 2-hour drive from Alien Gear Holsters HQ in Post Falls, ID, so I order direct through them & pick up the product direct from them.
Bought the AlienGear shapeshift kit a year ago and still no problems with it. Very comfortable with IWB. And I like the idea of being able to transition to OWB quickly when I need or want to. On a plus side for me is the AlienGear company is just 30 miles from my home, so it's a local company which makes it very nice.
@@terryreyes1125 I'd you are that concerned about being lied to, i.e. getting honest reviews, why not do your own research rather than watch a video of someone you already distrust? Thinking for yourself is very liberating.
Sootch00.... I did buy the ShapeShift Carry 4.0 for my G2C and ordered the shell for my SD9VE. I love this product. it is very easy to setup and is very comfortable. I like the fact that you can adjust the cant either by adjusting the belt clips or adjusting the screws. According to Alien Gear it is easy to clean using a little bit of dish soap. Then rinse and let it air dry flat on a towel..
I really want to like the Shape Shift system. But it is not for me. It is too bulky and the components make the firearm harder to conceal. As you stated, the locking mechanism requires more space. I do love the idea of the mounting system for inside vehicles; hidden in furniture, etc. I am sticking with T-Rex Arms.
@Clint Roberts We appreciate your comment! While some of our ShapeShift holsters may appear bulky, they actually measure up the other companies quite closely. We’ve streamlined our shells to fit your handgun perfectly using gun replication technology, while minimizing the footprint of our IWB holsters to take up less room on your belt. @@Aliengearholsters Your system, though close to the dimensions of leading competitors, is [in my experience] slightly bulkier than my preference. I am already on the heavy side and that slight difference makes or breaks whether I print or not. Though I do not carry OWB, the paddle, even with the belt loop setup, is not tight to the body as others can get get it. It's just not for me. I ordered the mag carriers and was not satisfied with them; honestly, I am leery of trying the Shape Shift system due to the same reasons.
thanks Sootch for the new holster I am going to get for my Taurus G2C 9MM. I checked out the web site and it looks like something that will fit me just fine, Thanks again for all your reviews and supporting those who carry and shoot. God bless American and long live the Republic, Go 2nd
tj Green I picked the AG OWB specifically for my G2C Everyone has opinions Everyone has diff needs and body shapes No one can call a holster junk if it works for you It’s a matter of opinion And who gives a crap if someone doesn’t like your holster - remember when kydex first emerged, people said what’s this plastic “shit” and held on to that leather like it was gold I find mine works very well for the G2C in particular -but it’s my only AG so I could easily love or hate them for other guns ??
I'm late to the party but I have the original Cloak Tuck and the 3.5 IWB Cloak. Been super happy with my 3.5 since it came out. I decided to upgrade to the ShapeShift system and I am even more happy. I purchased the core pack so I got options. I've been using my original cloak tuck for a car holster.
I have the 3.5 for my S&W M&P 2.0 compact 9mm. I can't wait for the ShapeShift for my gun. I will be getting one. Their customer service is second to none. Nice video.
DONT buy alien gear holsters they are freeking junk in my opinion they are to thick they dont stay in place well to slick against your body the mag carriers are wider than the holster dont waste your money on this shit ill stick to my 20 dollar kydex mag carriers and holster this stuff is over priced junk. biggest gripe the neoprene collapses when you take your gun out of the holster making it a pain in the ass to reholster
SPARTAN300 i have 2 of them and have had them for about 6 years, I’ve not had one issue from the holsters. Just from the fact that i wasn’t wearing the correct belt
I just picked up the complete shapeshift pack. A friend told me about them. I did alot of research then found out their plant is 2 miles from my house in post falls. They made me a holster in 20 minutes. So many carry options. This is the best for comforting inside the waste I've felt. And for 99 bucks its alot of bang for the buck. If you open carry it cannot be removed unless the holster button is depressed. Probably the safest way to carry locked and loades
I'll give them an A for effort, but there are too many points of failure in this design for me to feel comfortable. Even more when wearing OWB. Then there's the bulk...what happened to the old days of folded kydex that was molded to the gun and was pretty much "enough to do the job"?
I use Clinger Holsters and Relentless Tactical. (and sometime, muddy river tactical) Each one will ask what gun you'll be using there holsters for. They provide a drop down menu, if your gun isn't listed, either call them or send an email. All three have answered my emails as quickly as an hour! It takes 3 -5 busyness days. I now have all four of my guns with there own holster. RT has there "stealth" model and Clinger now have a V3 IWB, each has a claw option, if you like them.
@@douglassalley9117 I bought a Clinger IWB for my Sig P232 about a year and a half ago, and the first time around the kydex was folded in toward the pistol at the mouth, causing excessive friction. They replaced it when I showed them pictures and the second was the same. So for now, I'm a big hesitant to use them. I will check out the other as I have a pair of G48s and a G43x that need holsters.
@@kfeltenberger Sorry to hear you had problems, did you order a "sticky" holster? I've only bought two "stingrays" and two V2/3 NPW. The NPW is the one that looks like the AG holster with the two clips, like the one in the video. I will admit, the first one I bought was my first holster and was a newbi CCW carrier it was a hybred, one clip was on leather and the other was on kydex and I didn't have it positioned in the right location. It was very uncomfortable while I was driving, it's about an hour to my club range.
@@douglassalley9117 I bought the Stingray. I notice that they don't offer the P230/232 anymore, so they may have had issues with other holsters. One thing I've learned since getting my CCW back in the late 1980s is that you will buy a lot of holsters! In the end, I have a couple that I rotate around, none of which are the new designs and all are simpler, straightforward designs.
@@kfeltenberger Thanks for the info, as I mention in my reply, I've only been a CCW "authorized" carrier for about a year. I just bought a new Sitngray for a XD9 compact with 4 " barrel. Wore it a few times and it was comfortable, the grip didn't poke me in the obliques (love handles) I drove to the range a few times. I'm still trying to decide which to EDC. I have a Sec. 9, Smith 9mm 2.0 with 4" barrel, Sig P320 and the XD 9 compact (all are mid size carry guns. I don't shoot well with the sub compacts!) I'm still not comfortable with my skill! I have improved drastically in the 14 months I've been shooting. What bothers me is when I finish a box of ammo and I go get my target and have one or two holes off the black area all together I worry if that would have been some by standard I just shot. I can put all shots ( 10 yards) in the black now but I can't do it every time I go to the range. My instructor/mentor will put a target in front of him and show me were all the holes went. He calls the target a good "tactical" target. I just say, "yes sir" and I feel a little bit better! I hope you can find a good holster, sir.
I've tried them and just can't get into them for a few reasons. One, they're way too bulky to carry, as others have stated. Two, they try too hard to be multi-functional, which is why they're so bulky. Lastly, because of my second point, they have all these tiny parts that, if lost, you compromise the hoster's ability to function properly. When I first got the kit it was like opening an Erector set. Little buttons, keys, and clips... just too much. Gun owners need one thing only: a solid hoster that will retain the firearm while staying concealable. Less is definitely more.

Black Arch Holsters Protos-M has the 3/4 shell that covers the trigger gaurd fully like this for their hybrid. I have it and it is very very comfortable. I think its built better and a little thinner/less bulky.
Ive got the cloak tuck 3.0 and i like it for edc however when I'm just running out to the store it requires more time then id like to spend putting on my holster especially when i just want to grab and go. I have a simpler kydex holster for that. The AlienGear cloak tuck 3.0 does get better with time, it does the job. My suggestion is to customize the fittings ride height, cant, and retention to your likings... if you dont mind the additional time it takes to put on invest in one. If you do mind i say still invest in one for edc and look at another option when youre trying to leave your house quickly.
Holsters reviews are volatile. Everybody swears by whatever they use. I would think that it's difficult to try to persuade others to try something new. I have 15 holsters (OWB/IWB/Pouches) from a kydek company here in my home town. Is there better out there? Maybe? Will I buy those? probably not lol (Bravo Concealment BTW, the owner and I go to the same church)
I’ve had two bravo concealment. Love the company and everything they stand for, but the holsters retention is a little to tight for my liking. I’ve gave it a shot twice, one for my Glock 19 and the other for my sig p320 compact, and both holsters the retention is so tight that sometimes when trying to draw from appendix, my gun stays kinda stuck in the holster. This is standing in front of a mirror, I can only imagine under a stress situation this issue happening, and me failing to draw my gun out of the holster. When they start making holster where I can adjust the retention to my liking, then I’ll try it again. But the owner is a good dude, I listen to his podcast I really like it. Alien gear makes good stuff, just kind of bulky and takes up a lot of real estate. I really like Nsr tactical, that’s what I carry right now.
I enjoyed everything about the core pack and the 4.0 shell. The one thing I didn't like, that I removed was the retention block. I'm a little thick in the equator area and that plus the retention didn't work out well. I could be wrong and that I needed to just use it to wear it down and make it slide better, but it seems to work fine without the retention on and my pressure pushing up against it worked like its own retention.
I bought this set up over a year ago. Using the IWB setup, I couldn’t even get my Shield out of the holster with my belt tight enough to hold my pants up! I loosened the “retention” up to where it would fall out when you turned it upside down, then put it on and tried it again. Same thing! I sent it back and got a refund (with no problem), then bought a couple of Milt Sparks leather holsters that work great for me. Alien Gear doesn’t work for everyone.
@LD Wyze 🤔 interesting cause the straps are already long enough I think it can be strapped that way to ive never tried it.. It can be strap around other things as well.
gunnutmike i have an IWB alien gear holster for my Shield also and i have the same problem with it. Wanted to return it but went passed the 30 days. Wasted $60...😒
Roy Villanueva Call them and talk to them about it. I was over the 30 days too, because I bought it before I got my permit, so I didn’t know about the problem until I started carrying. They’re pretty good at standing behind their products.
I wish I would have tried Alien Gear holsters first. I've spent as much on holsters as one of my guns cost but I like the Alien gear Holster system and will stick with it for a while. So far I'm happy.
They have a few options for lights and lasers, but only for Crimson Trace and Eridian. Unfortunately nothing for Surefire, Streamlight, or Olight yet. I live about 20 miles from the Alien Gear headquarters in North Idaho and am constantly going there to swap out my shells everytime I get a new pistol. They have outstanding customer service and forever warrenty's on their products.
Their shapeshift holsters are too bulky for concealed carry, especially for appendix. I have tried to return mine, and this is where things got ugly. AlienGear has no formal return form on website, neither do they include any return paperwork. They just tell you to write your order number, address on a piece of paper and ship it back to them. Did so; month later - no response. Emailed them and was told they did not receive anything and there’s nothing they can do. So I ended up wasting over $100 (2 holsters) and having no holsters.
Agent Smith waaaaaa. Stop your cryin. I’ll bet ANYTHING your physical shape doesn’t even allow you to true appendix carry. You could have wasted waaaaay more money on something not nearly as innovative. You’re a troll. Back under your rock please. Thanks. 🤘🏽🇺🇸🖕🏽
love the bloopers at the end lol. Thanks for a great video on this system. I just got my carry permit and now after watching your video I'm on my way to buy this system.
I ordered this pack for my gen4 g20 and I love it. Just make sure you have a sturdy gun belt to hold the weight. The only carry position I don’t like with the g20 is appendix, but it’s a bulky gun and I’m a skinny dude.

The first Alien Gear holster found it's way into the garbage because the holster would collapse to the point, I had to remove the holster to get the gun back in. The second holster had a weird retention plate made from metal and it was heavy and uncomfortable. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. There won't be a third time.

It looks like a fantastic value, but I hate the lack of light compatible shells. I reached out to the customer service and got told that they do not have plans to expand their options, but that the information would be passed to their R and D team. Definitely disappointed.
They do make GOOD products. I actually bought their shape shift kit and their ankle holster for my ruger LCP max . 380 for my back. I gotta say. Their ankle holster is. SUPER COMFORTABLE. STRONG as well.

I've had mine for like 4 or 5 months and i love it. Most comfy IWB ive yet to own. expensive but really nice and the retention is great.
Can you provide the link if you could.

I tried Alien gear years and never tried another brand again. It's so comfortable you forget it's on.
Pure garbage from my perspective. I just bought one and won't wear it because it will probably fail when I really need it. Hell, the thumb release fails more than half the time because it is so poorly designed.
@@MAGAMAN mine doesn’t have a thumb release?
@@MAGAMAN What holster are you talking about? The shapeshift doesn't have a thumb release. Inless you mean the level 2 retention, but as sootch showed it works quite well. I don't understand how you can say its garbage when you just got it and haven't even really used it.
@@MAGAMAN did you try adjusting the retention on the release? I'm about 95% sure thats your issue.

I'm with you on this. I was looking for an apendix carry option and this thing printed way to much. Returning to midway.
i wear the IWB shapeshift every day .. you buy one starter kit and shells for other guns and you are set for life. everything they put out is so good. toolless swaps and adjustments. been sold since i put my first one on and look to alien gear before anywhere else.
You are entitled to your opinion and Mr Smith is entitled to his. The difference is people pay him a lot of money for his opinion on firearms.
Love mine. For my 19 with a dot, I was able to Dremel to fit my dot.
I've had mine for almost a year. I love it. The options make it the best on the market imo.
I use the alien gear holster to carry my pro carry 2 and I dont even notice it while wearing. Love it
Oh, wow. It's been in the back of my mind to buy an Alien Gear holster at some point, but I didn't even know they offered something like this. I'm definitely interested in getting one sooner than later, now.
Tried AG just too bulky for Concealment. I use Bravo Concealment Holsters they’re great very minimalistic and comfortable. Sootch give them a go!
They dont make a holster for the SDVE tho...
I just got my CCW in Cali after waiting 13 months lol this is the first holster I've bought. Can't wait to try it out!
Very good review! The pros and cons were covered. Complete with demonstration of actual carrying. Keep up the good work!
I love my Alien Gear holsters. Glad to see they're expanding on the shape shift system
Thank you! Saved me from pulling every last strand of hair outa my head. Could not get the tension adjusted. All good now!
My Shapeshift and new Roswell holsters are being delivered today. Can't wait!
Thanks for the information on the Vedder holster. I'm ruling them out now.
@@tracys5303 You're going to love them. Be sure to adjust your shapeshift for weapon tightness. It's super easy and works great.

Looking into this for my xd40. You have the full size?

its making me want to replace my 2.0 i originally had the snap loops on but wanted the belt hooks. but my belt hooks were not smooth for some reason and would scratch my side. the 4.0 just look leagues above the 2.0.

How is comfort? Are you using IWB?
Just ordered mine this morning and Already looking forward to getting it for my Smith And Wesson Shield
Yes, not sure why he kept.making a big deal out of that. All my holsters have retention adjustment screws. Nothing new at all!
Sootch00 thank you posting this video! The instructions that came with my AG system were too vague. I was about to return the darn thing until I saw your video. I was able to set up my IWB without a problem after watching this. Also Id like to mention this thing is really comfortable!
I have hit the notification bell the last 3 times I've watched your videos. I'm seeing this a lot on gun channels.
You really need to look into N82 holsters. Made in Lexington NC. Great hybrid IWB with retention.
Clint Queen. I have been using N82 holsters since it came out on the market. I am ordering a Pro Tandem for my off duty G43.
N82 makes a great product!
Had a 2.0 and went to the 3.0 IWB and just ordered the 4.0!! I won't buy anything but Alien Gear, and hope I never have to!! Thank you for this great video!!
Can't wait for them to release a RMR version. Really want to try this system.

My P365 XL with Romeozero red dot fits like a glove in the shell designed for the pistol and there is protection of the optics as well. I'm impressed with the fit of the shell, Sig does not offer anything that fits so well in addition to protecting the optics. Haven't tried any of the various configurations other than the IWB, it is the most comfortable I have ever had so I keep it set up that way. I picked the AG OWB specifically for my G2C
Everyone has opinions
Everyone has diff needs and body shapes
No one can call a holster junk if it works for you
It’s a matter of opinion
And who gives a crap if someone doesn’t like your holster - remember when kydex first emerged, people said what’s this plastic “shit” and held on to that leather like it was gold
I find mine works very well for the G2C in particular
-but it’s my only AG so I could easily love or hate them for other guns ??
Bust. Bought one about 6 months ago for my g43. Tension screw doesn't work anymore, gun holds tightly in the holster like a hotdog in a hallway

The NPW is the one that looks like the AG holster with the two clips, like the one in the video. I will admit, the first one I bought was my first holster and was a newbi CCW carrier it was a hybred, one clip was on leather and the other was on kydex and I didn't have it positioned in the right location.
Alien gear is amazingly comfortable. This video is well done and covers the whole carry pack. Best video hands down!!!!!
Less is definitely more.
yep - complexity is the enemy of reliability.

Big BC holster fan. I have 3
I have 2 Bravo Concealment and an Alien gear I love the idea of alien gears product but I must admit it’s the Bravo that I use most of the time.
But aliengear do make light bearing holsters as well. NSR makes awesome holsters
As does Cleveland Kydex

@LD Wyze I did provide a quick detach cover so that it won't be seen
I have this for my g19. I love it. Sometimes I forget I have it even. It is very comfortable
We love to hear this! Thank you for taking the time to leave your comment!
All returns should be sent certified. Someone at the company has to sign for it
Agent Smith waaaaaa. Stop your cryin. I’ll bet ANYTHING your physical shape doesn’t even allow you to true appendix carry. You could have wasted waaaaay more money on something not nearly as innovative. You’re a troll. Back under your rock please. Thanks. 🤘🏽🇺🇸🖕🏽
Focke Wulf I find T1 Concealed / T5 Kydex / Vedeer less bulky and sturdier. To each its own.
The company has been rude to me. I won't touch their junk again.
That's scary. I just sent back two returns. I did fill out a return form so maybe that'll help. Hope I have the shipping info still...
love the bloopers at the end lol. Thanks for a great video on this system. I just got my carry permit and now after watching your video I'm on my way to buy this system.
I have a glock 20 gen 4 10mm with a TL 1 light on it, right hand. Is this weapon so hard to find Holster?
Check out Bravo Concealment
I ordered this pack for my gen4 g20 and I love it. Just make sure you have a sturdy gun belt to hold the weight. The only carry position I don’t like with the g20 is appendix, but it’s a bulky gun and I’m a skinny dude.
I have the 3.5 IWB for my Polymer 80 and it works great. I also use their OWB mag pouch.
I've thought about trying one of these. Thanks for the review Sootch.
Is that your cat at 15:35?
I purchased the entire kit 18 months ago and use it daily. I have had minimal wear and the comfort has been good in the appendices carry set up.😎🇺🇸
Are you still using the shape shift? If so how is it holding up? Thanks.
@@dieselwrench3621
Some wear on threading from daily use.
@@johnnybbgunner2136 I appreciate the info 👍
Thank you brother for you’re thorough review, was already going to subscribe but when you closed your video with “ God bless America, long live the Republic” I was moved and smashed that subscribe and like buttons! Thanks! 🙏
I absolutely love mine for my springfield 9. I bought several different ones and my Cloak Ruck 3.5 IWB holster!
I can already see myself losing those twist locks
dont buy alien gear junk you will regret it
Could you be more specific? Does it fail? Or break and fail during working of the holster?
Always well done boss, great review! I've been carrying w Alien 👽 for years. My FN 509, Glock 19 and Sig 365, conceal and owb. I agree shap shift is amazing. 4.0 on my radar now for 365.
havent watched video, but i bet it gets a rave review even tho everybody hates it, except those that are paid to review, and those that dont know what to buy or cant afford.
Derek Comingo you caught me right there. Am trying to figure out what holsters to go for, in the three options (OWB, IWB & Shoulder holster) with multiple mag pouches. I come from a background of sticking my CCW inside my trouser's waistband, not much experience with professionally made holsters. Am still not certain this Allen Gear outfit is right for me. Any recommendations?
@@jalermaling8736 Check out these three sites, Clingerholsters.com, muddyriver.com, and relentless tactical.com. I've bought holsters from each of them. The CS is great with all three. Clinger actually have an appendix IWB, it's a "sticky" holster. It has been reviewed by a few of the gunner channels.
Yeah it’s sad but I’ve never seen him post a bad review.
@@douglassalley9117 Right away sir.

Amazing video as always! The most reliable reviewer on UA-cam!
Actually the saying goes:
Fool...me...once...shame on you.😧
Yep, their stuff has been junk. And when you try to post a helpful, polite review on their website that doesn't give them 5 stars (with specifics about problems)they just delete you posts. Crappy company. Never again.
videodistro are you Serious ?
Hmmm, carried AG for years for lots of different guns and never experienced what you’re describing.
But.... was there a third time lol?
Just ordered this updated set! Definitely have done their upgrades, holly smokes ! This company has it all now!! 🇺🇸
