- PUSH START & STOP BUTTON installation | No Splicing of Wires is a detailed tutorial on identifying, testing and matching each of the wires in the stock ignition harness of a Toyota Vios Gen 3 for a non destructive installation of an RFID-based Smart Start System module.
The video walks you through the preparation process of the wire connectors and installation of the push start and stop button kit as an upgrade to the current key ignition system. The principles used may be applied to other vehicles as well.
The non destructive approach of this installation preserves the integrity of the stock wiring and makes everything 100% reversible in case you want to go back to the original key ignition set up. With this method you won't have to worry about splicing the wires and potentially causing short circuits later on due to exposed or improperly insulated cabling.
The car used for this video tutorial, a 2015 Toyota Vios, has no built-in immobilizer and the keys are not chipped. This upgrade to an RFID-based push start and stop system provides extra security to this car against unauthorized use or theft.
By the time you finish this tutorial you will have a better understanding of how the stock Vios Gen 3 ignition key harness was set up. Each wires are repeatedly identified and shown up close to help you get familiarized with each of them.
As always, please use caution and common sense if you wish to perform this or any modification to your car. Always put safety first and seek the help of a professional whenever necessary.

Thank sir,Great teaching video and I have a question if I will install smart start system and I will remove out a key to the ignition switch, how about a steeling lock&unlock
@@HusseinBaus-b9x Thank you for your kind words! Regarding your question, when you install a smart start system and insert a duplicate key into the ignition, the steering lock mechanism will be disabled. The purpose of leaving a duplicate key in the ignition as part of the setup is to prevent the steering wheel from locking while you’re driving, which, as you can imagine, could be very dangerous.
Great video. After watching I ordered a kit off Amazon. It will be here this Friday. One question: Do I hook up the brake wire and leave the original male connector inside the brake's female connector of the brake assembly, or do I pull the male connector out of the female connector and leave it off? Thanks.
Hey there. The answer to your question is: Hook up the brake wire and leave the original male connector inside the brake's female connector of the brake assembly. (In the video, I disconnected it just to get a better view of the wires for the camera, but I connected it again after tapping the push start module brake wire to the 12v power wire, so that the brake lights will still turn on when I step on the brake pedal) Good luck. Sir, your video is one of the best tutorial video ive seen, very detailed, clear and concise. Easy to follow and it encourages people to be self reliant or DIY. Thanks for sharing. I wanted to ask, i followed your all the instructions and have read the installation manual, i have noticed that whenever i am depressing the brake pedal, there were lights coming on in the instrument panel even i have not yet press the startbutton, or swipe the RFID kit. Is this nornal? I have connected the blue wire from the modulebto the green wire of the brake switch connector as per your video. However, those instrument icon is lighting up when im hitting the brake pedal. Please advise.
Hi sir, thank you for your feedback.
Please re-check your wiring, there could be a mismatch somewhere. The instrument panel icons should only light up when you press the start/stop button (after swiping the RFID tags). Kindly check if the wiring to the ACC in the ignition harness is correct. Thanks 🙏

Great video! But what about the immobilizer module I know you stated your keys don’t have chips and don’t use i mobilizers is there anyway I would know if my 2000 Toyota Avalon has the immobilizer system would I need the immobilizer module sold separately to bypass it
One way to find out if your car has an immobilizer is, you wont be able to start the engine using a duplicate key. The immobilizer sensor ring is usually located around the ignition barrel (where the key is inserted) and connected to a wire harness. If your car has an immobilizer and you want to install a push start system, you can try and take the chip inside the original key and tape it to the immobilizer sensor ring itself to bypass the system. Sometimes just taping the original key near the immobilizer sensor works.

It's a possibility
@@Viosified ok thank you
Useful video
Thanks!
Tried to test the brake wires but there is no room for me to test them and its impossible to get to them even if I removed everything possible, any suggestions?
One option is to visually follow the wire and find an accessible location to test it and/or splice it at that location (if possible). Second option is to use a hand-operated momentary button switch as an alternative to the brake pedal switch, but you have to connect it to a constant 12v power source. The 2nd option still retains the safety feature of the push start kit because of the momentary button switch.
@Viosified any idea if the 2021 model has the same ignition wire connector as this one?

@@KCCLIP-s if you remove the key in any position the steering wheel will lock up while driving, you need to keep the key inserted in the ignition barrel to prevent that. Hi. Your video is so good and easy to understand. Thank you! I want to ask whether or not the same procedure can be applied to Camry? I'm sure there will be additional steps since the Camry has immobilizer. I afraid if I DIY the alarm system, the engine won't start. Huhu
Hi. Yes the same principles apply for Camry, you just have to make sure the wiring of the ignition harness matches that of the Push Start kit (this is very important). As for the immobiliser, you can attach one of the keys (or the chip itself found inside the key) to the immobiliser ring in the ignition using zip ties or electrical tape to bypass the security. That way you can start the car using the transponder/immobilizer that comes with the Push Start kit.
Thank you. I hope this helps :)
@@Viosified I've seen there are push start system that comes with alarm. They call it PKE (passive keyless entry). Does this system hard to install?
PKE is a little bit more complex to install than the basic push start system because there are other wires to connect to for the alarm and lights.
@@Viosified thank you bro. Really appreciate it!
Anytime :)
Mate you're an absolute champion , fantastic video and detailed information , with the blue tag do you have to swipe everytime you start the engine also where did you position the transponder ring
Can the blue tag be left permanently near the transponder ring
Many thanks
Thanks!
Yes I have to swipe the blue tag everytime I start the engine. I kept the transponder ring hidden under the dashboard. The length of the transponder ring cable allows you to hide it somewhere inconspicuous but still accessible for swiping. For safety reasons, it is not recommended to keep the blue tag permanently attached to the transponder ring. The blue tag serves as your security key against theft and unauthorized use; it also wakes up the ignition system when you need to start the car.
@@Viosified thanks for the info , i have a 2014 Toyota yaris equipped with factory transponder/immobilizer , can this be fitted to it is there a way to somehow bypass it thanks
@@radj4719 Yes. You can "bypass" the factory immobilizer, but you either have to permanently attach the original key (with the transponder chip) near or onto the immobilizer sensor; or, you can crack open the rubber handle/body of the original key to access the chip inside and attach that chip near or onto the immobilizer sensor with a tape. Then you may proceed to install the third party Push Start Kit as demonstrated in my video.

Great video! Did you have a chip key before you installed this system? I want to put it on a 99 Explorer but I a, worried it won’t work because of my chip key. I am hoping this does away with the need for it.
Mine doesn't have a chip but you can bypass yours by attaching one of the original chipped keys (or the chip itself found inside the key) to the immobiliser/sensor ring located somewhere near the ignition barrel using an electrical tape. This way you can start your car via the push button after scanning the tags on the transponder antenna that comes with the kit.
Thanks!
can yuu explain why you add a jumper to connect the two 12v constant wires together?
Because the push start module harness only has one 12v line, and the ignition harness has two. I decided to utilize both power sources by bridging them with a jumper connection. But that is just my preference.
It is possible to use the switch in the clucth pedal. If the car has a clucth pedal instead of the brake pedal wire ?
Yes, if that's a more convenient location for you.
I bought a second hand toyota vios 2014 car. it has already installed aftermarket keyless entry system. Do i have to buy a new set of keyless entry system with push start button? Or i will buy only the push start button and use the existing keyless entry system. ? Is it possible?
@@MrDrag110 You don't necessarily have to buy a completely new keyless entry system if you already have an aftermarket one installed. It’s possible to just add a push start button & integrate it with your existing keyless entry system. However, compatibility between the existing system & the new push start button is key.
You’ll need to check whether the push start button you plan to buy is compatible with your current keyless entry system or if any additional wiring or modules are needed to make it work together. Sometimes, aftermarket keyless entry systems can be adaptable, but it’s a good idea to consult a professional installer or technician to avoid any electrical issues or installation problems.
If the existing system isn't compatible, then buying a new set (keyless entry + push start button) might be a better option to ensure everything works properly.
Hey how are you? I just wanted to find out if you can install push the start button can on the car that already has computer alarm and remote start.Thank you

Nice. Which brand and model (Push start kit) would be best for a GM type car? And would it be compatible if i upgrade the key fob/rfid with those newer LCD remotes?
Thanks! The Push Start kit used in the video is a generic product and would fit most car brands as long as the kit"s wires and the car's ignition harness are matched correctly. The RFIDs for these products are uniquely encrypted for each module, and fobs or RFIDs from another manufacturer or brand may not be cross compatible (for security reasons).
Thanks you very good !

I have a 2005 Mazda Verisa - six wires on the ignition of the car - 5 wires plus black earth on the new smart ignition - have tested the car ignition wiring and checked ign 1 & ign 2. First button push acc wire livens - second push on the button and the dash lights come on - third push car doesnt start or crank, just one click.
check the connection of the wire from the module to the brake light (+) line ( 16:23 ). It has to be receiving (+) power when you step on the brake pedal as you press the start button to run the engine. If that is not the issue, try swapping the wires connected to ig1 & ig2.
Do i need to uninstall the keyless entry before installing this push start system? Tnx in advance and God bless
@@BonziBonz whether you need to uninstall the original keyless entry before installing a similar aftermarket push start system shown in my tutorial depends on the specific kit & your car's existing setup. Some push start systems are designed to work alongside factory keyless entry, while others may require modifications or removal of existing systems to avoid conflicts. It’s best to check the specific installation instructions included in the kit you will use. And in case you encounter any technical hiccups, feel free to consult with a professional installer near you to ensure compatibility & proper installation. I hope this helps.
Friend, I have a big doubt and a question if you can help me. My car has a remote start with an original factory key and I can start it remotely from my house with its key. I am going to use 2 keys with a chip, one for the chip that will always be placed in the ignition antenna (to be able to enable the button that I am going to install) and the other as a spare to be able to start the car remotely. My question is: will the copy of my other key with a chip work to start the car remotely from the house once the button and a permanent chip in the antenna are installed? Greetings
It might not work, because the ability to start your car remotely using the original factory key and the remote start feature - as provided by your car's original equipment manufacturer (OEM) remote start system - is designed to work with specific components and protocols to ensure the security and proper functioning of the remote start feature.
When you introduce a third-party push start and stop button with its own module and transponder sensor antenna (such as the one demoed in my video), you are essentially adding a new component to the car's electrical and security system which introduces compatibility issues.
If you need the remote start feature I suggest you install the PKE version of this kit. I don't have a tutorial for that kit but it uses the same principles outlined in my video, with the exception of connecting additional wires to enable extra features. Most car accessories dealerships sell this type of kit and they can install it for you at no extra cost. Please note, however, that this third party kit will essentially take over and disable your OEM remote setup. I hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching. Have a good one!

It's because there's only one 12v wire in the push start module so I had to bridge the two 12v connectors in the ignition harness because they both supply current to essential components in the car.

Hey, my Toyota wish has a push start stop button installed aftermarket. But there are times when you can hear the relay but car does not trigger the ignition. Is there anything wrong with the circuit? P.s i’ve fixed my car starter but issues still persist
If the starter isn't problematic, check the health of the battery if it is strong enough to crank the engine. Also check the battery connectors if they're tight enough. Loose connections can cause starting issues. The old Push Start button, module, and/or its wiring could also be a factor and might need to be replaced if they are damaged or worn out.

The steering wheel lock is disabled when a key is inserted in the ignition barrel (that is the trade off with this set up).
Sir can you teach me how to locate the side door connection
thank you paps. ask ko lng, same set-up ba pag clutch start? o ilalagay sa clutch switch ung dapat na sa brake switch na connection. salamat in advance.
Hi sir. :)
Does that kit kave remote start?
None
How about the original key immobilizer how do you bypass it
If your car has an immobilizer and you want to install a push start system, you can try and take the chip inside the original key and tape it to the immobilizer sensor ring itself to bypass the system. Sometimes just taping the original key (or the chip inside the key) near the immobilizer sensor works as a bypass.
Thanks for watching.
Why when i remote start i hearing the box ticking but am not getting start
@@kevinperry5421 the push start kit used in the video doesn't have remote start. The kit that has it is wired differently. Please check if your kit was wired correctly.
What if the connection to the brake transfered to the clutch? Then i dont need to step on the brake?
Yes, you can do that, but stepping on the brake pedal (in addition to the clutch pedal) while starting the car offers additional protection against unintentional forward or rearward movement of the vehicle when on incline or uneven road surfaces.
does your steering wheel lock remain function?
Yes. That's why I inserted a pre-cut duplicate key in the ignition barrel to prevent steering wheel lock-up while driving.

Hi sir.

Good day sir.
Magkano?
