I just looked at your video and I am ordering it because of you . you make it look so easy and I always wanted one on my Montero sport. just ordered it can't wait thanks for the tutorial. good looking out.
First of all, thanks for the video you made, you helped me a lot, and it's definitely one of the best on the net! I have a problem, randomly, it happens a lot, I can start up engine with the button + brake even without having rfid running! I would be happy if you could help me with this! It's scary to leave my car in the driveway lol
That seems very odd! Maybe the kit you bought is defective with regards to the rfid sensor. Did you get the one which I linked in the description? Or one from a different manufacturer? I would suggest contacting them, as unfortunately I can't think of what could be causing an inconsistent problem like that. Maybe there's a short on the board where the rfid ring connects to. I would be very interested to know what they say.
Do you know how easy it is to to hack RFID? I could copy and clone your transponder from across the street... Awesome! I won't have to jiggle the locks with a shaved key to get in And you saved me the trouble of breaking your steering column by disabling it. Could it be any easier? If I come across this anywhere believe me I will take your car...in broad day. I'll just get in a drive away like its mine... Cuz it will be.
Not a bad video I have to say you actually showed pretty much everything including the steering lock so good job man most videos don't show you half of what your supposed to do :) I'm installing this in my wife's car for her and this helped alot
Hey what's up Auto DIY Guy, I love the videos you make they are very informative and well as money saving, keep making more videos. Thank you so much, I'm thinking about putting a push start. God Bless
I pushed and held it long enough to start it but I was scared I may damage the starter. I will try again in the morning and let you know how it goes. Thanx for the response
If it keeps cranking and doesn't start try double checking your ignition wires with a multimeter. Compare how the key powers them on and off during crank with how the module does it. You may have ignition and accessory wires reversed.
Hi. Really nice idea. My ignitio nkey won't work properly, just in one position start the engine. I have the same car as you have, but it's a wagon. The central lock key is on the ignition key and also there is an Immobilezer. Should be the key in the key hole? Or this system can handle the whole thing? Thanks for your advice.
The Auto DIY Guy oi! You did this with any local civics? Mines have a chip in key have a bad ignition cylinder want t to use this instead , save a lot of money vs buying new cylinder entire assembly costin real money
Daryl gonzalez hey man... What year is the civic? Might have to try and see if a universal immobilizer bypass module will work with that chipped key first. What I would suggest is to check the description, get the bypass module and push to start kit, and then email me when you're ready to discuss. :) Paulsamaroo@gmail.com
Hello Bro, I am a automobile modification enthusiast... I have done the installation as well for the start stop button, its an Indian car though... Awesome Video though bro... I have seen the comments and i can see that there are people facing issues with immobilizer.... I have bypassed it in a very simple way... And the steering lock as well is been bypassed in a simple way... Please feel free to contact, i would reply as soon as possible... Thanks.... I would reply to the messages who are facing challenges in doing so and THE AUTO DIY GUY keep doing mods.....
Hi Jefferson Bro i need to know some details about your car can you tell me the model of the car, because basically the immobilizer is a ring which is been placed around the assembly where the key is been inserted to turn on the car...Do you have a black ring around the key assembly please check and let me know..
Yogesh Bobade actually I just found a way to fix that last night but I'm still stuck with the shifter it's lock I still need to put the key in. its a 2001 chevrolet tahoe
Hi Jeff bro..Please tell me do you have to keep your key in "ON" position if "NO" then ,, You would have to cut the key and keep the key in the key assembly and you would have to keep the other part near the immobilizer ring so as to avoid the issues of immobilizer.. please note that key should be only inserted don't keep in "ACC or ON" condition let the push start button do its job of turning on accessories and turning the car on..When you have just inserted the key in the key assembly it would automatically unlock the shifter when the car is started through start stop button..Let me know if this helped you...
1, my best guess would be to research, find and wire it up with the wire that gives power to the radio and accesories. while the car is still off( might have to consult with a shop if you are unsure which cable could be used instead of acc). if there is not other wire, then a good option would just be to wire it up to the 12v from ignition 2 that comes on when the car is on but off when vehicle is turned off. 2.the brake signal is easy enough to identify, get an multimeter that lets you know polarity then on your brake light pedal on top there is a switch. put the multimeter red lead on it and the negative to a metal part. then push the brake. if the multimeter shows 12v, and it shows correct polarity then its odviously 12 volt at the switch. get a good diagram for your vehicle , a multimeter then do it very carefully, this is not a type of job to be rushing into, especially if you are asking around about what kinda of polarity is the brake signal on.
Have you tried to take a look at the key assembly and the socket to which the assembly is connected,,how much wires are present in the socket??????... And how do you switch on your accessories????Cant you switch on the radio without turning your car on ????
great job on this video on how to explain this better then most others have. I am now wanting to do this to my 2007 chevy equinox now thanks for the know how
ali khalifa only if you are willing to put a spare key in the ignition lock, turn it to ACC position, and cutting off the head of the key; to keep steering lock disengaged. You still will need to disconnect the wires that connect to the ignition cylinder as shown in the video, so the only benefit of doing this is to not have to physically remove the ignition cylinder.
nice video bro.. please the ground wire you connected to the grounded part of the car where did it come from is it from the transponder and what happen to it after the whole connection is done does it remain there. THanks
I have a Kia Pro'Ceed from 2008 and I'm looking to install one of these toys. I checked on the net în many forums about this item and on most of them the guys still use the contact key together with the RFID.
Is the RFID Tag "exclusive" for your system? If I installed the "Push Start System" to my 2 cars . . . can I interchange the RFID Tag to activate any of my cars with the same system? . . . Great Tutorial.
rfid tags are "coded" cars, so they should not be able to function for both systems. but what you can do is get one of those places that copies rfid tags and just "fuse" your tags toguether so that both will be present in either car and each system will id the tag it needs to. Also you can try to contact the chinese manufacturer and maybe they will be able to program two systems with the same rfid's , for an extra charge of course.
This is really cool, I saw a guy do one with an arduino before this one, but I prefer this kit. I wonder how hard it would be to have the car unlock automatically when you walk toward it.... I think I'll install one of these in my car, it's a 2007 but it's got basically no bells or whistles, I'm adding Bluetooth to it now to make it a bit easier instead of connecting cables all the time. I really do like this though, if I could fit it somewhere convenient, I would do it. I really like the RFID tag too, makes it much safer.
hi there. I bought exact same system like yours. mine seems to need longer time to start. if using back key to start the engine, engine will start easily.
I do have the same one system ready to be installed...by me of course... just one quick question, the break pedal switch is a (+) trigger or negative? my car is a manual transmission and required to press clutch to start, so can I skip or connect this green Break pedal switch to the Clutch switch and avoid to press both pedals at the same time?
DAMN brah you da boss. that thing is sick, great way to modernize a reliable old friend. quick questions, is there a way to add an led light to the system so that it would blink when system is armed and not blink when disarmed? or does the push start button led do that instead?
hey DIY guy, i bought the unit, do you happen to know how it detects when the engine is on? so it stops turning the starter. there isn't anything in the manual and i am just wondering. I mean there is not rpm sense wire or anything of that matter in the box so kinda curious.
Hey man...from what I know, these kits usually work on a timer. I believe you can adjust the timer according to the manual (this is off the top of my head since this was a while ago lol). I remember in the manual, it said that there was a button to press to configure it. In my case, when pressing the button (and NOT holding it down), it wouldn't crank enough. However, when pressing and holding the button, it works perfectly. Hope this helps!
The Auto DIY Guy yea. i get that. just finished installing and it works greeatttt and it looks and awesome. hoping u make some more vids. jaja. who knows maybe its time to include remote start on your ride.
Bro, I cannot find my car ignition diagram, my car is Proton Iswara 2004, is there any website that might have? I had checked the website that you provided but dont have.
Very helpful video and easy installation Thnku Sir can you make one video full introduction how to install normal steering wheel to update radio button control steering in hyundai accent 2003 to top model like to 2012, 2014, 2016 or any old car normal steering wheel to update radio button control steering wheel Sry for my bad English
+William Bray Ahhh I see ...I referenced the wiring diagram on the website...and compared it to my push to start system. In your case, you would have to join the two ignition wires from the push to start system, and connect them to the single Ingition wire from your car. Next, for the Accessory wires, join the two Accessory wires from your car, and connect them to the single accessory wire from the push to start system. Good luck, and let me know how it goes!
Great video I used it to help install my push button.Only thing is mines didn't come with a RFID transponder so I picked a JHS motorcycle ID card lock. I own a 95 SC400 when I push the button the car tries to start but won't turn over. Could you possibly help me out with this?
Does this happen even when you press and hold the button to start the car? In my case, the push to start kit doesn't crank enough unless I press and hold.
Could be your after market ID lock blocking the push button's starter wire. From what I can tell this RFID transponder is Chinese product only so I'm guessing the quality isn't 100%. If you had to cut the starter wire to install the ID lock then I would recommend you reconnect it and try the push button again. If it works then you know the problem is with the transponder.
installed the device as per your instruction but have one problem, my radio, cigarette lighter, and led clock does not turn off with the engine, key needs to be in the lock position to turn off. any solutions. thanks in advance for your reply
Hey there bud, Have a 93 Crown vic that has a broken actuator Pin behind my ignition barrel and in the steering column iself that will not allow me to turn off my car, haha literally have to uplug distributor to kill the engine and unplug the battery to keep from battery drain. would installing the push button start/stop make me able to turn off the vehicle both mechanically and electronically? Really need to info on this and would appreciate the hell out of a reply if you could spare one.
Hi how can i improve my RFID? say can we make detection range more further? coz everytime i need to bring the tag very close to the rfid ring maybe theres a way you dont need to do that instead once you get inside the car it already detects the RFID Tag without bringing it closer to the ring sensor? Thank you
Robert Quiambao the range for the rfid reader can not be increased without further more complicated and more money investment. there are alarms that do what u want but this is not it. the only thing that i would reconmend would be to place the ring where ur pocket is. the pocket where u put the keys always in that pocket so that everytime u sit, the ring will read the rfid tag automatically.
Ramadan Kareem, Abdelfattah. You will need a bypass chip to allow your car to start. You'll need to visit your closest car starter shop and tell them the make, year and Model; they'll tell you what bypass you need and how much.
hey, can i use the button and also the key to start the car whenever i want, if the button fails for any reason i can quickly put the key in and turn it to start? because the barrel will still have a duplicate key there if i choose?
I’m assuming the transmission is also locked in “park” by the position of the key barrel. If so, will this installation (barrel removed) allow a thief to shift the car into neutral and steer it away without any keys/fobs?
@TheAutoDIYGuy: I did the install on my 2006 Chrysler 300 by following the instructions in the video. My car starts the shuts off immediately. what am i doing wrong?
Hi, have been having problems with my install. After installing my system, my battery keep draining out. I checked it with my ammeter and found it was drawing close to an amp while the system is shut down. Not sure what I did wrong. Any advice?
There is now a type of smart key connected to obd2 port ?? Is this available? Do you have any information about that?? If you have, what about it for huyndai elantra MD 2016?? Many thanks.
I had to test each one with the corresponding position on the ignition key barrel. ( ACC, ON, START ). Check the wiring diagram (in website in description) for more info specific to your car 🙂
Hi, I have problem with the installation ... My car is a Hyundai Sonata 11, I made all the steps to install this button but not start engine .. what do you think happen? in this case
Matt Hall everything that was connected to the ignition barrel (which controls ACC, ON, & START) will instead be connected to the module. Essentially the module will become the ignition barrel :) the module contains the relays to do the switching.
Opening up the module it seems that the relays won't be big enough to handle the currents my ignition switch is taking at the moment. The brown main feed to my ignition switch is 6mm^2 which is around 50A?
Hey dude. I've been looking around and come a pound this video and I'm looking into putting one in my car. Just wanna know how far can that fob be away from the ring for it to work
Great video. You helped me out a lot. Do you happen you have the install manual? I threw mine away by accident and i would like to see how to install/cut my key and retain my factory alarm. Thanks!
hey man, nope unfortunately I don't have it anymore. But the instructions just stated to use a spare key, turn it to ACC position, and then cut the head off.
how would this work on a 93 integra automatic my ignition switch is goin bad and i have a kill switch alarm so would i have to do anything special and what connector u cut off
Cinnamon Wolf thanks bud 😊 you should check out the updated one... It's in the description. And i'm currently working on installing an even more feature packed alarm system. Stay tuned.
Hello... is it possible to leave the blue RFID card next to the transponder permanently... so i dont have to walk around with it... i can just jump in start and not worry about placing it near transponder??? Before i get bashed for asking this.... im not worried about anyone stealing the car....
I have a 1999 Oldsmobile intrigue will this system work with my vehicle I've been looking everywhere for a video and yours is the best I've found so far really like that I won't have to have my keys in order to use the system, makes its seem like it came from factory with a push start.
I install the same model as yours. It works few times not all the time and I follow every direction according to wire diagram. Here's the issue, I put in the Transceiver to the transponder hear 2 beep & I press the brake and push the start button the engine won't turn on but the accessory mode does work tho? I even check the wire that goes to the brake switch too.
hmmm does sound like the brake switch is not being detected by the system properly. Are you 100% sure that the brake switch wire is connected properly?
lol I didn't press the clutch pedal all the way, when I mean all the way its really pedal to the metal. Sucks that it had to be press both brake and clutch at the same time to start for the 5 speed. Anyway thanks!!!
Hi friend My car is a SONATA 2011, and I have problem with the installation, I installed every equipment of the smart key (start button), but when I go on (no start). alI work very well only that no starter on. I guess that it is by the key that contains the chip immobilizer .... I want to remove this switch key for only the botton .. help me with this ....
Hi bro what are the GWR wire and actuator wire doing. I didn’t saw anything you’re doings with those wires. But in my case there is some additional wires
Hi there I stall same model of the push button start on my Honda odessey everything is alright except when starting it sound like runout of voltage when starting.... any idea to suggest? Thank 🍺🍺🍺🍺
That was wicked... Do you have any problems with the electrical noise generated when driving the car? Do you have any backup plan if the system goes down?
OMG 10,000 views! You guys are amazing! Thank you so much for watching...it means a lot :D
You did a great job explaining clearly in your video and including all those helpful links. bravo

two questions 1 what do you do with acc wire if switch has no acc position? 2 is the brake signal 12v or ground? thanks great video
+Neil Paterson 1) the ignition barrel of your vehicle has no ACC position? 2) the brake signal is 12V.

Also my car has two accessories for the ignition switch one and two in your expertise which one do you think I connect I have a 2016 Hyundai Elantra
Good luck, and let me know how it goes!
link to vehicle wiring diagrams not working. please send new link. great video man.
I know that's there also a "teach mode" that came with my kit, however, I haven't bothered to look further into that yet.
Congratulations. 2009 honda jazj manual, is it feasible
Hi how can i improve my RFID? say can we make detection range more further? coz everytime i need to bring the tag very close
to the rfid ring maybe theres a way you dont need to do that instead once you get inside the car it already detects the RFID Tag
without bringing it closer to the ring sensor? Thank you
Robert Quiambao the range for the rfid reader can not be increased without further more complicated and more money investment.
there are alarms that do what u want but this is not it.
the only thing that i would reconmend would be to place the ring where ur pocket is. the pocket where u put the keys always in that pocket so that everytime u sit, the ring will read the rfid tag automatically.
Robert Quiambao there passive keyless entry witch works like you want, i snstalled a cardot brand that costed me $125 on ebay
Good work. My car have an immobilizer, would this kit work for my car??? Or i have to buy another piece to make it work properly.
Ramadan Kareem, Abdelfattah. You will need a bypass chip to allow your car to start. You'll need to visit your closest car starter shop and tell them the make, year and Model; they'll tell you what bypass you need and how much.
+ijible. Allah Akram🙂🙂🙂. Thanks for your reply.
Great video to watch. I cannt tell that my transponder and RFID chirp/ communicate with each other. Is there a way I can find out?
Yes there is a way
what problem are you facing actually......
hey, can i use the button and also the key to start the car whenever i want, if the button fails for any reason i can quickly put the key in and turn it to start? because the barrel will still have a duplicate key there if i choose?
Im guessing the black box is the transponder in this case? And if so would this be a good replacement for a defective or broken transponder antenna?
how did you get around the transponder on the key being required
I’m assuming the transmission is also locked in “park” by the position of the key barrel. If so, will this installation (barrel removed) allow a thief to shift the car into neutral and steer it away without any keys/fobs?
Yep sure will 💀
Great video. Very thorough.
Many thanks.
great job . There are many wires in the ignition. how did you match the ones except the starter cable?
I had to test each one with the corresponding position on the ignition key barrel. ( ACC, ON, START ). Check the wiring diagram (in website in description) for more info specific to your car 🙂
i think i have e few more problems :S is the steering wheel not locking when the key is not engaged in key lock . my steering wheel is locking :(
Can I install it to my 2008 Honda Civic with immobilizer chip in the key? hoping for your reply, many thanks...
Hi, I have problem with the installation ... My car is a Hyundai Sonata 11, I made all the steps to install this button but not start engine .. what do you think happen? in this case
Nice job on that! Two questions: Where is the link to the car wiring diagrams and what brand is your kit?
Thanks! All the links are in the description
Does the current for all the accessories pass through the module or are you using the module to control relays to switch the current?
Matt Hall everything that was connected to the ignition barrel (which controls ACC, ON, & START) will instead be connected to the module. Essentially the module will become the ignition barrel :) the module contains the relays to do the switching.
Opening up the module it seems that the relays won't be big enough to handle the currents my ignition switch is taking at the moment. The brown main feed to my ignition switch is 6mm^2 which is around 50A?
Hey dude. I've been looking around and come a pound this video and I'm looking into putting one in my car. Just wanna know how far can that fob be away from the ring for it to work
BIGBAD TROLL hey bud... Around 3 inches max
Awesome video thanks for sharing your skills
could you tell me, how to decide the wire in ignition socket to battery +, key on 1, key on 2 ? i just have found the acc and starter wire..
The Auto DIY Guy thanks bro. I did just that and everything works perfectly. Thanks!
You're most welcome buddy! Take care.
does it have to be on a serten
one on the wire
how would this work on a 93 integra automatic my ignition switch is goin bad and i have a kill switch alarm so would i have to do anything special and what connector u cut off
So when you've removed the key barrel, you have no more steering lock?
Correct, unfortunately :)
Because on the website with the diagram it's says I need an immobilizer, do I need one?
Installed on my 95 Accord works wonderfully thank you but I’ve ran into an issue my blinkers no longer work any advice??????
How did you mount the push button? You think that button could handle being mounted on a motorcycle? Btw great video
Would I need a bypass immobilizer for this push start I have a Lexus is300 2001
Thank you! I will be attempting this on my own now
Nice job! Nice and simple video to follow :)
Cinnamon Wolf thanks bud 😊 you should check out the updated one... It's in the description. And i'm currently working on installing an even more feature packed alarm system. Stay tuned.
Its not keyless entry? You opend your car with the keys. But can it be ketless entry to?
Jan Jaap here you go 😉 ua-cam.com/video/QT-XmFuEGsw/v-deo.html
How would it work on a manual transmission. The same??
Hello... is it possible to leave the blue RFID card next to the transponder permanently... so i dont have to walk around with it... i can just jump in start and not worry about placing it near transponder??? Before i get bashed for asking this.... im not worried about anyone stealing the car....
I have a 1999 Oldsmobile intrigue will this system work with my vehicle I've been looking everywhere for a video and yours is the best I've found so far really like that I won't have to have my keys in order to use the system, makes its seem like it came from factory with a push start.
Yes, but you'll need to bypass your passloc 2 anti theft system. That'll require a module or someone who's good with relays and resistors.
hello , as you did with the key chip?
What did you say to do at the last part? Cut off what what adapter?
monkyfays cut off the part that plugs into the back of the ignition barrel.
Will this work on a Lexus is300 2001 so I have to remove the key barrel as well so I can drive
I want to ask you if i can keep the key starter as a backup in case one day the bush start haveissue,? I mean I dont disconnect the ignition wires
Yes you can...instead of "cutting off the adapter" at 12:59 , leave it there and just use electrical tape on the exposed wires.
The Auto DIY Guy thanks alot bro, I will do it and share with you the results
The Auto DIY Guy but i still don't get the idea of connecting the wires to the ignition connection?!! Which wire go t which wire?
Ok!Sir,my question to you is how do l install the on start button on the kantanka west African cars and trucks from ghana!
You'll need the wiring diagrams and some car electrical knowledge.
Hi friend
My car is a SONATA 2011, and I have problem with the installation, I installed every equipment of the smart key (start button), but when I go on (no start). alI work very well only that no starter on.
Sathya Narayanan your ignition switch will still work
Yes we would have a backup plan...
No noise problems
