Bro you are smart af, I remember telling my math teacher that mathematics was useless and I'd never use it, now I'm wishing I had paid more attention back then
@nasir cooper ... If you have a bender you should practice any bend that you don't know by heart. Buy if you are just starting out. I would recommend learning offsets, rolling offsets, 90 stubs with kicks, then move up to 3 point saddle, 4 point saddles etc...

That bender with a digital remote is amazing. I wish companys would get those instead of the basic one. It would cut down time fabricating. All you have to learn is formulas from there. With the basic one you have to remember spring back and it gets full of marks where other people got the right degree at
What fall protection gear brand of harness and safety lanyard are you wearing in the beginning of the video? I have learned so much as you are so well versed in commercial!! Amazing videos, keep up the great work!
Next time i use one i will. My company doesn't use them. We bend a lot of conduit and we are into heavy production. Mech. Benders are just too slow for them. They rather we use hydraulic and electric. But for sure if i get my hands on one i will.
So in your example would you have to have the center of a 20.5 degree bend charted out on your bender and place the 20" mark on that spot? Or place the 20" mark at the front of the hook?
yes you would have to have the 22.5 degree charted out (i think you made a typo or did you really mean 20.5 degree?) and yes you would put your 20 inch mark on that charted mark. Not the arrow. When you are bending kicks you shouldn't use arrow really. but most of the time we are just bending simple kicks where nothing really matters but the Rise of the kick so in that case it doesn't really matter. But when you start to do parallel kicks or more precision bending or you just want to bend the meaning then you want to use center of bend marks so in that case you want to have your bender charted wether it be a hand bender, hydraulic, and or electric bender. Soon i will be coming out with a video giving you the deduct measurements for center of bends for all the basic degree of bends so that if you don't have it charted you could just deduct what you need to deduct and use the arrow to bend. Thanks for the comment. and thanks for watching. Hope this helps.
@@marlboromass what type of bender are you using to bend this kick and size conduit? Just wondering or are you just speaking in general. If its a hand bender you dont really need to worry about spring back.
@@TheArtOfConduitBending just speaking in general. I'm always looking for ways to be more precise especially with bigger pipe so the bend comes out perfect on the first try and the info in your videos has helped. Thx
Good tutorial. But to execute the bend you demonstrated in the calculation, you also need to know the developed length of the bend and to divide that by 2 to get the center of bend. If you can’t get the center of bend location, then you’re screwed... Developed length = pie/180 x bend radius x degrees of bend. Then divide by 2 to get center of bend, then subtract that result from stub distance, mark the conduit there and place that mark on the bend starting point of the shoe.
Yes definitely kicks are bent on center of bend if you choose to do so. You dont have to if you are just using the measured method. I have parts 1 and 2 on kicks that i speak about center of bend and how to transfer that mark over to your bender. But thats all i do is just speak on how to do it. Thats why i made a video on the subject of learning how to chart bender with center of bend marks with all types of benders along with finding other important values. The link to the video is posted below. I hope you enjoy my videos and find that you get some good info from it. Thanks for watching. Im also on fb and ig @holmzlaw. Thanks!
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.
That formula is amazing I wish I had learned it sooner, thank you!

Wow... Thanks. You can learn all of this too

Can you make a video on the large conduit bending machine

Yes your right. In time these will be the only benders around

3M is the brand of harness and lanyard.

I wish i had access to a mechanical bender. I miss them so much.
I'm trying to learn how to do offsets with 2" useing the nicklebender do you have any videos on this ???
Its same as a hand bender only think of your arrow as the front of the hook on the 555
