This album was released exactly 45 years ago today. And even though "Don't Stop" and "Go Your Own Way" have had airplay to the point that you just didn't want to hear them anymore, this album in its entirety sounds as fresh and relevant today as it did back then. It's one of those albums that truly stand the test of time; rightfully wearing the honorary title 'Classic'.
@@joaovictorsilva7990 It is actually their second album, in this configuration. They were originally a heavy blues band out of England. In 1975, Buckingham and Nicks joined Mick Fleetwood and John and Christine McVie to form a new band. They have 7 additional albums after Rumours.
The album Rumours is one of the greatest of all time. During the recording, there was a whole lot of relationship turmoil in the band, and you can really feel it in the tracks. Check out the whole album. You'll be amazed. Much ❤
Fleetwood Mac ... untouchable & unlike any other band, having both male & female singing & songwriting perspectives. Many other great tracks from them for you to check out - Go Your Own Way, Don't Stop, Gold Dust Woman, I'm So Afraid & of course, Dreams. Keep doin' what y'all are doin'
FYI: Jim Henson, the creator of the "Muppets" said he fashioned his puppet "Animal" after the drummer of Fleetwood Mac, who is Mic Fleetwood. You can see why if you watch some of their live performances.
Lindsey Buckingham is a monster on anything that resembles a guitar. Have a look at ‘Say You Love Me’ from The Dance in 1997. His banjo playing amazes me. So many fantastic songs from this mega group.
Would you believe me if I told you that the Rumors album was almost entirely made with each band member in separate rooms, cause they couldn't stand to be near each other? XD Their history is incredible! I recommend the 1982 live show of this song. You can REALLY see the anger between the singers as they try to outdo each other on stage.
need to watch the live version of Rhiannon on Midnight Special I think it's dated 1976 amazing showcase of Stevie Nicks, the absolute goddess of classic rock n' roll
My older sister has the Rumours album/lyrics memorized and ingrained in her brain to this date because I played it beginning to end.EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT...for a few months, maybe longer. 😂🤣 Good thing she likes FM!! Very happy to hear your love of FM, one if my favs!! 👍🏽❤
The two singers had broken up right before starting this album. The female wrote it. Imagine having to sing a song about what your partner thinks you did wrong in a relationship.
... without putting too fine a point on it, but John and Christine McVie had also divorced (or were in the process) and so was Mick Fleetwood. All five artists are credited on this track and extremely rare on any other! Stevie and Lindsey had promised each other before joining the band that THEY WOULD NEVER BREAK THE BAND UP. The sense of being CHAINED together for the sake of the band was excruciating in the recording sessions.
One of the only FMac songs to feature all five members. About their various romantic entanglements, which is a common theme to the whole Rumours album. One of their best and an all-time classic.
This is an absolute banger! Fleetwood Mac is one of the most important rock bands in history. All of us owned the "Rumours" album and knew every song by heart. Pretty much most of us still do! Great rabbit hole to go down!
I have been waiting for some Fleetwood Mac reactions, enjoy the trip into hearing all their great music. I'm sure many of people will tell you all the history of this album. Lots of great songs on this one.
Fleetwood Mac is just one of those bands that will be legendary for all time. Not to mention this album which is one of the greatest albums ever made. I gotta recommend listening to Gold Dust Woman next time you check them out.
Love between a couple can be tied together with a golden thread, or an iron chain. By this time Lindsey, and Stevie must have felt that The Band, and Their relationship was, an Iron Chain, that couldn't be broken at that time. Passionate Songs, sung by Passionate People, at the most turbulent times in Their Lives.
I love how on the angry part, the drums switch so they sound like someone repeatedly pounding their hand down to make a point in an argument. And the guitar solo sounds like two people screaming at each other. Two marriages in one band. That's asking a lot of a band in that era. Glad so much genius emerged out of that pain.
This album was recorded at Sound City studios in LA, the board they use to record this was so far ahead of its time to this day people are using it to record music!
Fleetwood Mac started out in England in the 1960’s as an English rock group. Over the years they transformed into an English-American band. The addition of Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham propelled Fleetwood Mac into orbit.
The chain is what bound them together as a band, Even though they were all going through break=ups as couples, they were never going to break up the band. Stevie Nicks wrote the lyrics to the song, but all band members were credited for songwriting on this song since it was a true collabreration.
I’m in to more raw reactions without all the pausing & speeches & “you know what I’m saying” - but seeing the smile on that girl’s face as the final riff came in was brilliant. Forget the intellectual ramblings, just seeing someone loving the music is all I need 👍
Fleetwood Macs Album - Rumours and its songs always gets new fans every year. Even into the future maybe decades from now they will always be discovered.
Excellent pick. Excellent video. Excellent artists. Excellent comments/reaction. JUST AN EXCELLENT RIDE, all in all. Luv ya and Keep em coming. From an old rock and roller dude outta Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Go with God. Peace, Ya'll.
If you liked this song you betta listen to every Fleetwood Mac song ever! Lol they're all absolutely Legendary. Band member Stevie nicks was the first woman ever to be inducted into the hall of fame twice. First time with the band in 1988 and again for her solo career in 2019. My favorite band ever ❤️
Fleetwood Mac went through a number of iterations - lots of personnel comings and goings and the new musical directions that come (and go) with that. I was just starting to become aware of music (beyond the children's records my parents would play) at around the time that Rumours was released. In fact, this album - a bar mitzvah gift from one of my friends - was essentially the very first album I actually owned...and I loved it. Every single track on it.
you two are fast becoming my favorite reactors! you go in depth on the meaning of each song. Plus you catch the different vibe of the song. Keep it up!
Fleetwood Mac started in the 60 with Mick Fleetwood on drums and Peter Green on guitar. They had reasonable success in the blues, blues rock genre. Stevie Nicks and Lynsey Buckingham was a duo in the early 70s and a couple. They joined the band and took it to higher heights than most bands ever see. Stevie Nicks is the undisputed queen of rock and roll with solo and group entries in the rock hall of fame. And her voice can still melt people everywhere. Christine, and John McVeigh on keys and bass, round out the quintuplet.
You need to also check out the live version of "Big Love". Lindsey Buckingham (guitarist & lead vocalist in this song) gives a magnificent solo performance.
They're even better live, you need to scope out "The Dance", from 1997. It is incredible, Lindsay's unorthodox guitar playing is mixed with acoustic and electric and it's all great stuff.
The problem here is that a big part of the majesty of Fleetwood Mac is watching their LIVE performances. That’s why they were always the most expensive concert ticket. You can’t look away. Find their Midnight Special videos. Stevie Nicks is mesmerizing. She’s a witch and a goddess.
I know I've said it before...You two are straight up my favorite new reactors & I want nothing but the best for you & tons of success! I love watching you both because you thoroughly enjoy all the music you listen to. Crys' smile in this video makes me so happy. Just watching ppl enjoy new music is a gift. Thank you for sharing that with us. 😊
Bone Thugs n Harmony made a song with this instrumental and it's so good. I believe the album it was on was called Strength and Loyalty. Edit: The song is called Wind Blow. GREAT SONG
Guys, remember or if you don't know Fleetwood Mac had two incarnations the first back '67 was the Peter Green version take a listen to original epics 'Green Manalishi', 'Black Magic Woman', 'Man of the World'' 'Albatross'. From '75 the Mac became the Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham version. All members of the band were really good musicians and writers however the the star is the Poetess, songstress, Rock Goddess Stevie💥💫
Stevie wrote the lyrics and sang this song about her ex-lover Lindsay, the guitarist. Can you image them having to perform it a thousand times on stage and not feel the pain? And if you don't love me now You will never love me again.
Bone Thugs have a song called "Wind Blow" that samples this song. It's from 2007 so it's not one of their older 90s tracks but you should still check it out.
I think of the very first part as swamp rock!!! I love the whole song but yeah its three different vibes on the song. Think of the drumbeat as your heartbeat. It keeps climbing with each part of the song.
This is really 4 or 5 songs in 1, that's why it changes up so much. It was pieced together... All of the members of Fleetwood Mac have writing creidt on it. It's a very unusual song, but they made it work.
Worked in a record store in 1991 I sold alot of Fleetwood Mac, not as much Madonna but Pretty up there, fleet wood Mac had Its own section that's for sure.
You guys need to do "Hocus Pocus" by Focus. You talked about how this song put a smile on your face, _EVERYONE_ who reacts to that song has a great big smile, or outright laughs when they hear it for the first time. Also, "Frankenstein" by the Edgar Winter Group is a great rock instrumental. And if you like funky instrumentals, do "Outta Space" by Billy Preston and "Rockit" by Herbie Hancock.
They're in my Top 5 as well! Check out "Rhiannon" off The Dance album!!! Some other great songs are "Gold Dust Woman", "Gypsy", "Dreams", "Silver Springs", "Bleed to Love Her", "Big Love" and "Tusk"!! All from "The Dance" album. They have several more great songs, those are some off the top of my head.
Stevie Nick's is the female lead singer. For some reason she has been connected to witchcraft because for some reason everyone thinks she is a witch. She has spent most of her life telling people "No. I am not a witch.". But she does a song called Rhianna that I thought was a bout a witch. I am one of those people who heard ths in the 1970s and never stopped believing she was. Then, she was in the last episode of Coven ( I think it was hands down the best series of American Horror Story) but she maintains that she is not a witch. Lmaooooo

@@10thdoctor15 same! The Rumours album can never be overplayed!
The back part of this song is so good it's ridiculous. That bass line is truly iconic.
That bass is DIRTY ❤❤

💯😉
Took the words right of my mouth. Probably the best album ever made.👍
I hate it that they were going through so much pain but damn we were blessed by their pain
I think the word 'Tusk' play the important role in the turmoil..

"Big Love" from The Dance album!!!
Lindsey Buckingham doing Big Love live on the acoustic has got to be one of the best I have ever seen
And Lindsey playing Big Love alone Soundstage performance.
Forever the sound of Formula 1 racing for those who remember the days it was on the BBC.

THAT bass line is considered the GREATEST bass riff OF ALL TIME by fans and professionals alike
This song is an absolute masterpiece, great energy. This song is dope when cruisin on the road, window down, volume up, and singin LOUD.
One of the top 10 best selling albums of ALL TIME with 40+ million-not 1 bad song on it,in my opinion

Fleetwood Mac have SO many great songs.
The two singers had broken up right before starting this album. The female wrote it. Imagine having to sing a song about what your partner thinks you did wrong in a relationship.
The answer to that is to do a song also, pointing out her faults, accuse her of 'shaking up'.
... without putting too fine a point on it, but John and Christine McVie had also divorced (or were in the process) and so was Mick Fleetwood.
All five artists are credited on this track and extremely rare on any other!
Stevie and Lindsey had promised each other before joining the band that THEY WOULD NEVER BREAK THE BAND UP. The sense of being CHAINED together for the sake of the band was excruciating in the recording sessions.
