There are some amazing, crazy and very unique things about this band. Sone of the biggest drama and cocain use was involved with this band. The amazing thing was is how they could perform as high as they were. You would often see Stevie go on amlnd off stage which involved her doing lines. But the biggest user was mick who did about 3 grams a day fir 20 years. Enough to do a 2 mile line altogether which they figured out crazy enough. But also Stevie and Lindsey were tifether and mick had an affair with Stevie which involved much drama on and off stage which is why they broke up for a bit. Lyndsey made a fool out of himself a few times live even in a drug filled rage against Stevie. At the end of the day they get their sh@% together and still played amazingly such as what we saw here. But they were all so very talented and still paying now presently only they recently kicked Lindsey out of the band again for other reasons.

This is such a great version because they pretty much hate each other at this point after the two main singers breaking up. But they made the breakup a hit and a staple in music history.

This lineup, that we all know and love, brought so much individual talent together. Not only is Lyndsey Buckingham a great guitar player, but Jon McVie is a solid bass player, and Mick Fleetwood a good drummer. Stevie Nicks is, well, Stevie Nicks, and not much else needs to be said. And Christine McVie (RIP, we all miss you), in my opinion, had one of the smoothest most soothing voices I've ever heard. Many of my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs, like "Say You Love Me" and "You Make Loving Fun" featured Christine on lead vocals. The way they all could play together, and how Stevie, Lyndsey, and Christine could sing together (not to mention all the great lyrics brought on by the chaos and insanity of the relationships between the band members) was nothing less than magic.

A falling flaming ball...describes the band's internal politics and relations during the writing of this perfectly. There were two couples in the band, both in the middle of "I want to set your bed alight while you're asleep" level breakups which they took out on each other lyrically. There was DEFINITE emotion there, and you could see it on Stevie Nicks' and Lindsey Buckingham's faces as they SNARLED at each other over their microphones. 😁

My first experience with Fleetwood Mac was as a kid in the 1970's. In the UK, the second half of this song, the transition was used as the music for Formula 1 racing and I fell in love the very first time I heard it. I didn't find out until many years later that it was by Fleetwood Mac as I was only a kid, but have loved them ever since, even through all their troubles, the music has been pretty consistant. Love your reaction Aileen, came for the review and stayed for the smile !😁

Thanks for reacting to this great band, Aileen. Their live versions are always more wild than the studio recordings, I recommend that you react to the album version of this too as it's very different. A good live version of one of their songs is 'Rhiannon' from 'Saturday Night Special' it's the best I've seen. They have a massive back catalogue here are some of their tracks: "You Make Loving Fun", "Go Your Own Way", "Don't Stop", "Never Going Back Again", "Big Love", "(Welcome to The Room) Sara", "Little Lies", "Everywhere", "Seven Wonders", "When I See You Again", "Mystified", "Caroline", "Tusk"; also their earlier stuff when Peter Green was with the band, "Oh Well", "Man of The World", "Albatross", "Need Your Love So Bad".
They get their name from two band members, Mick Fleetwood and John MacVie.

"Ants in his pants," and "Coke up his nose," LOL! Yup. "electrifying" is a great word for this iconic 70's band! And they did indeed "interact" with each other quite a lot--part of the exquisite drama in their songs and in their performances is their various love lives being written and sung about! Stevie Nicks (you prolly have heard her name) is The Drama Queen Herself, and that's meant in the best sense, seriously! She has "IT." And this band was the shit. Too many bangers to recommend here!

I'm so happy that you are learning the bass guitar! I have mostly played other instruments in bands but I did play bass in two different bands add absolutely loved it and I just learned so much all the time. I was a crossover guitar player with a sudden opportunity to play the bass for a really popular band in my hometown, and while I had jammed many times on the bass, I didn't even own one, and I basically lied and said that I knew how to play it when really I was just kind of a beginner at it although again I could bring lots of stuff over from having played guitar a whole lot. And thus started the journey, and at one point fairly early on I decided I just had to learn to play with my fingers and not just a guitar pick. And that was a painful journey to say the least but once I got through trying to play shows with blood blisters and stuff with Band-Aids on my fingers, it finally clicked and then I was there, I had my calluses and I could really express myself a lot better.

Taylor Swift is known about writing songs about her broken relationships. Stevie Nicks wrote a breakup song and made her ex sing it with her (Lindsey Buckingham, the male lead vocal/guitarist). You can see the venom between them and her stare is just pure daggers. Basically, this whole album was about breakups between band members and the strains on the band.

This is so fun. Yeah you should definitely check out the studio track to this, it's a masterpiece. But really that whole Rumors album is considered to be one of the greatest albums in rock music history. It's considered to be a perfect album.
I have seen reactors start with the first song on the album and work their way through the whole thing. It's always a fascinating journey, and they always fall in love with it pretty much immediately. The Chain is such a brilliant song. the story of it's creation is why Fleetwood Mac was such an amazing band. Christine McVie had a chord progression from a song she'd abandoned but the band liked it. Mick and John took the progression and came up with the end bit with the bass run. Lindsay came in later and heard what they'd done and built an intro he'd made for another song and then Stevie wrote lyrics with the Christine. They literally chained the song together from disparate bits of other songs.

I was a high school kid in the mid seventies in Louisville Kentucky and we saw this tour with Fleetwood Mac and Stephen Bishop who opened . I feel bad for kids today because we saw these awesome bands like Led Zeppelin , Pink Floyd , Fleetwood Mac , Queen , KISS and the opener was AC/DC and I know I never paid over 10 dollars for any of these concerts . It was about 7 dollars for the ticket , 6 or 7 dollars for the shirt and we all put the rest of a 20 dollar bill together and he had a pile of Sliders and Spikes with a huge chocolate shake at White Castle ( Cheeseburgers and fries ) . It was an amazing time and I feel very lucky to have lived then . This is what keeps me going now at 63 is the memories of all 180 concerts I went to from Chuck Berry in the late 60's to Eric Clapton , Jeff Beck and Robin Trower in the early 2000's . Festivals like the First Rocklahoma , 4 of the TEXXAS JAMS , the 92' Lollapalooza in Orlando , Florida with Pearl Jam , Soundgarden , Ministry , Ice Cube , TOOL and the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS in Orlando Florida . I always encourage my Son to go see as many shows as he can . The memories keep me feeling young and grateful to have seen all these great bands . Don't let life pass you by .... GO PLACES AND SEE THINGS YOU LOVE and make great memories . PK

Everyone was having extra-marrital affairs during the writing and recording of this album.
The bank started off as an English couple and an American couple with Mick Fleetwood (drums), Christine McVie (keys -vocals), John McVie (bass), Stevie Nicks (vocals), Lindsey Buckingham (guitar - vocals).
The name was derived from Fleetwood and McVie....... Fleetwood Mac.
I've been in tense relationships within bands and it's not fun, especially trapped in the studio with someone you despise.
However, the end result of this album is a powerful and very personal form of art.
FYI. They use the second part of this song as the theme music to formula 1 here in the UK.

This live version is much more manic and loose than the studio version was (likely due to them being coked up, and that's not a jab at them, simply the truth), but it retains the tension and build of the original while actually adding some true emotion to the track as this is one of several breakup songs from their epic album "Rumours" which is one of the greatest selling (and simply greatest) rock albums of all time! The dark-haired guitarist with the sick guitar licks and amazing energy is Lindsey Buckingham and the blonde singer, dressed all in black with the tambourine, is the one and Only Stevie Nicks...ICONIC. They are both amazing musical artists in their own right have had and do have amazing solo careers in the own right.
With this specific line-up, they are and have been a very popular band since 1975-1987 when they stopped making music all together. This performance is definitely before then. As you can see, amazing live, such stage presence and vibes between all of the, playing with passion and love for their craft. The drummer, Mick Fleetwod, has been with them since the beginning when the band originally formed in 1967 I believe
I could recommend so many songs for them Fleetwood Mac: **GO YOUR OWN WAY** **RHIANNON** **DREAMS** **DON'T STOP** and **GYPSY** Their catalogue of music is immense
For Stevie, I'd recommend **EDGE OF SEVENTEEN** **LEATHER AND LACE** **TALK TO ME** and **LANDSLIDE** .... You really can't go wrong with any of them! Love the reaction. Keep 'em coming! Cheers!!!

This performance has a special place in my heart. There's so much tension and expression going on that you can barely breathe, it gives me chills everytime. And as you said, this bouncing angry stares and conversations between them is so cool and adds so much more to the masterpiece that this song already is.

When Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined the band they took me through junior high in high school what a time it was. I actually have a copy of an album in my collection called Buckingham and Nicks from 1973 my dad brought home for me one day. It is top notch from the minute you drop the needle, flip it over in play it all the way through.

As a "baby boomer" myself, I enjoy watching your reactions to songs I listened and danced to as a teenager! I can feel your enthusiasum! I'm glad that even today, some 45+ years later these songs can still give people like you goosebumps! I hope you find many more bands of the '70s & '80s that you can comment on! So many have been forgotten. Like Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon, to mention only 2. You have your work cut out for you if you want to cover all those great bands and solo artists of that era! Good luck! And keep on rockin'!

You have such treats ahead of you with this band. Such individual talents that somehow coalesce into a unique sound, augmented by the real-life relationship dynamics between the band members. In this classic lineup, Mick Fleetwood is the drummer, John McVie is the bass player, Christine McVie is the keyboard player and singer, Stevie Nicks is the singer, and Lindsey Buckingham is the guitar player and singer. Definitely listen to "Dreams," "Rhiannon," "Go Your Own Way," "Landslide," "Storms," and "Silver Springs" (for starters).

Fleetwood Mac is one of my favorites too. My daughter is named Rhiannon for this very reason! This is probably my ultimate favorite song by them honestly. Another great few songs are Landslide, Tusk, Go Your Own Way, Rhiannon, etc. There really are no bad ones lol.

Hi Aileen nice band choice no doubt. On this album was The Chain, a favourite among many Fleetwood fans. Stevie Nicks wrote the lyrics about Lindsey Buckingham as their relationship was falling apart and Buckingham and Nicks share lead vocals on the song. Pieces of different studio takes were joined together to form the track.

Hey, Aileen! Hope you are well! If you like Fleetwood Mac, you should also check out Stevie Nick's solo stuff. Her "White Wing Dove" album is fantastic from start to finish, and mixes different styles of music. Fleetwood Mac's catalog is also quite extensive, so you've got a boatload of fantastic music to discover.
Edit: If I had to recommend one song to you by FM, it would be "Sara". But you might want to have tissues handy.... it hits the feels really hard. At least, it does that to me. Also, the music video uses concert footage. I always recommend the music videos when possible.

The attitude is real. Stevie and Lindsey had just gone through a break up, as did Christine McVie and John McVie when this album came out. There were a lot of intense emotions at the time. Most bands would have broken up, but Fleetwood Mac used the turmoil as inspiration.

They did have 3 of the besg voices out there in the 1970's, this song really highlights 2 of them with Lyndsay Buckingham and Stevie Nick, to hear Christine McVie at her best you should listen to Song Bird by Fleetwood Mac either the Studio version or live she is exceptional, other great Fleetwood Mac songs from this era include Rhiannon, Dreams, Don't Stop, Go Your Own Way (in fact all the Rumours album) and Tusk

Not quite accurate. Christine McVie joined them a few years after her husband John McVie did. I think around 1970. After Peter Green left there was an iteration of the Mac that was headed by Bob Welsh and produced a lot of underrated music and one bona fide classic Hypnotized. After Welsh left Buckingham-Nicks were invited to join after they had released their first joint album together. Actually just Lindsey was originally invited but he refused unless his then paramour and writing partner Stevie was also included.

One video that I will return to over and over is 'Black Tie' by the English folk singer/songwriter Grace Petrie. If I ever require an emotional lift, this is one of my go-to songs. I would love to know what you think of it. I've never seen anyone else react to Grace. It is different to most of the music you react to, but it's absolutely worth it. Keep going just the way you are!

Great reaction to an amazing song from one of the best bands of all time.
Fun fact, the tune from the part where that nasty bass riff comes in and it goes crazy was used as the intro theme tune for the Formula 1 motor racing here in the UK in the 70s and 80s and since i was young i didn't know it was part of this amazing song. It made perfect sense to me that this was put over the mayhem and spectacle of one of the fastest sports on the planet, and I'm sure is how many of my generation were first introduced to the song.
Obviously later i learned that it was a song in it's own right made by a band in which 2 of its main members were in a failing relationship at the time this was written and performed which creates incredible tension and performance.
