Tbh people dislike makeup revolution cause its a “dupe brand” and for some reason they like to constantly point out that it’s a “hit or miss brand”, like every brand at this point is hit or miss. It’s also super ethical. They’re cruelty free and have an anti modern slavery statement which I haven’t seen in any other brand. And their lower quality shadows have the pigmentation of the Chanel ones lol. But influencers shit on it more than the other much less inclusive brands.

The annoying fake other “influencers” hate on it because they are paid to advertise the expensive stuff too and hate on this brand for cheaper prices for the same stuff usually
I agree, and feel most of the time they've done their dupes well. I don't forget, however, about the times they went too far. I think those instances have cheapened their image, and for good reason. Hopefully they learned from their mistakes.

@@ohsnapitzari2318 I'm as white as milk and couldn't agree more. Nyma is a wizard with makeup and I love her channel. It's just so horrible that the majority of products she always has to "make work".
For real! I'm very pale and it's hard to find things that work well for me. Makeup companies should be more inclusive to very fair to very deep skin tones as well as different undertones so every person can find whats right for them
I’ll give them a small 🙌🏿 at least for trying to be inclusive. But the bronzer is more like a contour, it’s way too cool toned (I use dark deep)
That’s exactly my thoughts, the base was not warm enough.

I feel like this could be working proof that more deep skinned people are needed around the decision making table for these companies to thrive, cause some of them seem to have better intentions these days, but they will keep missing the mark if black input isn’t present/valued
@@ElloLoJo exactly. At least they're trying, but they need someone like Nyma there in the decision making process when it comes to undertones etc.
Otherwise it will always just be an appreciated effort without any relevant result.
What I can’t get over is companies will make an amazing dark eyeshadow that works great as a bronzer or contour for darker skin tones, but can’t figure out how to make an actual bronzer... like okay that doesn’t make sense

Probably because it's cheaper to use the same base powder with the whole bronzer line? Which is probably white. So it doesn't have as much of an ashy effect for the lighter shaded, but it gets more noticeable as the shades go darker.
I feel like this is probably the reason. They want the shade range, they just don't want to pay the price for it 🙄

Honestly OG drugstore brands need to do better. Makeup revolution literally has 2 sister companies and were able to release more than 3 bronzer shades. I feel like if Maybelline stopped paying models millions of dollars to show face, and instead used that money to invest in better product, their popularity and profit would go up drastically

Amen and the dark tones that they do have don't compliment the natural undertones that dark girls have they be way to purple or orangey and then it cancels out there natural skin glow as well. For me I struggle finding makeup as well because I'm pale but I don't have red undertones I'm a neutral undertone but all pale shades are way to red n light and vanilla shades are to yellow n dark if I could find a shade in-between that pale and vanilla with a neutral tone I wouldn't have to choose between being extremely pale or yellow wen doing makeup n don't get me started on contour I'm so damn pale I may as well buy a Halloween contour palette in Gray lmaooo bc the lightest bronze still adds to much warmth to my skin

Was thinking this too. Luckily she can add the warmth by using some blush, but she shouldn't have to. They should offer this one as a countour, because it does look good. And then add a warmer option.
But maybe thats the in between shade she talked about? I don't know what that one looks like.
Demi Spelbos I’m the same shade as Nyma and i have the in between shade. Unfortunately it’s not deep enough to bronze anything and it’s also on the neutral side

Love that in the US MUR is considered higher end drugstore prices, in the UK where it's from it's like the teenager pocket money make-up. I guess it is more expensive for you as it's imported like US brands we can get over here now charge a lot more here than in the US.
Yeah, same here in my country in Central Europe, I remember that mur was our go-to brand in Middle school cause it was cheap and accessible. I have an old ass chocolate palette and some contour products, they're quite good tho. Also an amazing lipstick in perfect brown color
In Russia it’s also considered as affordable drugstore company. I love their products a lot. Hopefully they’ll expand their shade ranges more and more, so everyone can enjoy makeup 😊🙏🏻
Idk why the eyeshadow brand that you normally use doesn’t just put that eyeshadow into a bigger pan by itself and market it as a bronzer
I'm super pale and I've learned so much from this channel already. I love watching her do her makeup - she's so talented. I love listening to her critique and perspective.
I honestly don’t know how you popped up in my feed as I’m literally the complete opposite end of the spectrum, lightest to 2nd lightest shade in every foundation I’ve tried. But I cannot get over how STUNNING you are! And this may sound really odd, but I was fascinated by how you apply your makeup and the contour and bronzer, talking about the purple tones etc. It’s something I’ve never considered that deeper skin tones have to be cognizant of and the difficulties that come with finding those types of products for your skin tone. I complain that most bronzer, highlights and contours are too dark for me, but I can always diffuse them. Y’all don’t have that option to make something work for you if it’s too light. I don’t know, this may seem rambly but I’m just so glad I found your channel!
What I love about dark skinned girls is there skin has a natural glow that literally looks like u have on highlighter but it's just natural
Best and kinda the worst thing about her reaction is how shook she gets when something really matches her skin.. it's adorable to look at how bubbly she gets, but again she shouldn't be shocked, she needs more easy picks that match her skin. 🙄

For real. From the very beginning when Revolution was founded they tried to be as inclusive as possible, back in 2013-2014 when no major Brand in Europe or North America really cared about darker Skintones. And their stuff is amazing, especially for Drugstore Prizes. I know im sounding kinda preachy, but i just really love this Brand and i don't think it gets enough recognition for actually giving a sh*t right from its very start
