Fenty Beauty Bronzers are finally here! So I went to Sephora and grabbed the last two shades of the bronzers and a couple highlighters. What's the tea on the bronzers? And are the highlighters any good?

@@karinakurbanova724 Incorrect. There is a whole continent full of people as dark and darker than Nyma. There is a literall gold mine of dark skin consumers who are eager for products catering to them because not many do. The majority of people aren't extremely pale however there is a PLETHORA of products available for extremely pale people. Not to mention, many people like to use darker foundations and products as contour and eyeshadow shades. The whole "well there's not many dark people" argument is a joke. Just know that if I ever start a makeup brand, i'm going to be RICH.
I was so shocked that the bronzers didn't go deeper. I think they needed at least 2 more shades. They better fix this 😐

@Jenna Smith Well, Nyma does use a dark brown eyeshadow to bronze and it works well enough... so why not just that, but in a bigger size and labeled as bronzer maybe? Not all that impossible, for her complexion at least :)

Jenna Smith bronzer isn’t needed for anyone, white or black. People wear bronzer because they like wearing it and darker skin tones should also have the right to enjoy wearing bronzer without being attacked because their face is “warm enough”
I get where Jenna is coming from. I’m a dancer and my dance teacher knows the struggle of bronzers so she tells us to focus on making the skin look lighter so you naturally look bronzed despite not having that. But I think that since she has a bronzer people could try and up the stakss
I honestly don’t understand why this girl doesn’t come out with her own makeup brand, mostly catering to people with her skin tone or darker. She would totally KILL it. Like foundations, bronzers, highlighters, blushes, eyeshadows and just everything that is hard to find for people with dark skin tones. I think she would be so successful. (Maybe she already has let me know cause I don’t watch every single one of her vids :) )

Imagine if you had to go out there and create a whole fucking company just to get a bronzer for your skin tone.
She absolutely would make an amazing makeup line that has all the items missing for herself and other dark skinned women but making a makeup brand is expensive and time consuming. There are hundreds of makeup brands out there who already have the money and name recognition that choose not to make the darker items

When I saw the release I thought that darkest shade wouldn't be dark enough for you :( I hope someone from Fenty sees your review and they end up creating two or so more shades up!
Nyma, I appreciate your honesty, it's what keeps me coming back to your channel because you are credible. I'm foundation shade 460-470 and I used the Mocha Mami bronzer. While I love it I definitely agree, it doesn't give the same effect as it would for a customer with the 100s 200s 300s skin tone. The highlighter is gorgeous on you.

I have a feeling with all the LOVE folks were giving Nyma all over the web after this release...Fenty will be coming to her and working with her in the near future. It only makes good sense. I can't wait to see her in the Fenty promotions soon. I'm calling it now!
it does work for her if it works for fenty beautys darkest model same skin tone as nyma even darker than its fine it just didnt for nyma the way SHE wanted it to perform therefore she dont like it

I’m sorry but she is so very dark that I truly think it would be hard for her to find a bronzer shade for her. Maybe she should do a lighter bronzer that will show up? Something w a glow. We critique other brands why can't we do it with fenty? We come to UA-cam for honest reviews not to be bias. At least we know that bronzers are truly hard to make this took rihanna two years to make and it's still not dark so lets call it what it is. Thank you Nyma for being honest!
I also think Fenty appreciates it too! They saw this and went to work. For all we know they started/ are still working on those deeper shades they just don't have it there yet. Nyma's critique won't fall on deaf ears.

I knew it wasn't going to work. Just like how they didn't have a matchstick deep enough for nyma to sculpt with.
In their demo videos, they brought up reverse contouring. And honestly, when they did the bronzer for deep skin demo. I barely noticed a difference. It looked like he added a subtle wash of blush.

Fenty just needs to expand on the deeper end of the spectrum for their sculpting and bronzing products.

When Fenty announced this launch, the first thought I had was: "Wow, Nyma must try this ASAP"
Now, you are one of the first reviews and I'm glad.
That was my thought too OMG. After her video about the bronzers from Sephora, I was hoping so badly she would finally find a good bronzer.
This was the same thing with the match stix they had the deeper model “reverse contour” cause they didn’t have a shade for her and sadly it’s still the case. As diverse as fenty is with the contour and bronzing products deeper skin tones are unfortunately left out.
I find the "reverse contour" is essentially lightening the skin and cop out
I don't feel they are left out. I just feel they haven't been reached yet. They haven't found the right formulas to create exactly what the public needs but Im happy to see they are trying new things to try to get closer to that point.

I'm a Fenty fan, but I know they aren't always going too be the best, I'm super happy that Rihanna is trying too make these products, but they are difficult, I think with people with very deep skin tones trying them on, you're only helping her see what she needs too do next time, and that's great.

I love fenty and what they’ve done and the different women they have on their ads but this definitely didn’t work.
It's kind of like highlighters for pale skin tones being not light enough as they would leave a cast. It's true I do think people at polar ends of the spectrum always have to do their own custom 'not what it's marketed for' type of products to suit them. The reverse technique heavily applies to the two groups. Also like pale tones could use silver or white eyeshadow for highlight as a darker tone could use a deep brown black type for contour. I really don't know how the industry gna sort this out!

You are absolutely right. The companies mostly cater for the "more common" skintones but they keep forgetting there are skintones that are deep and skintones that are downright white (full offense, I have yet to find light enough concealer or foundation). And I love it how you keep fighting, you are right and hopefully the dark products will come your way!

No one wants to look darker, it's just about warming up the natural contours of ur face bc foundation flattens ur features and shadows out. It's also about being inclusive. I totally agree. I always see brands releasing dark bronzers and thinking wow that's really dark and then when Nyma tries it you can really see how much they are still lacking!
It is because of the lightning that she uses, you can see that when she shows the MAC’s Film Noir blush that is actually much deeper than it shows on the video! I think she highlight more so we are able to see better details.

I’m 470 also and I got the bronzer, if you used it with your dark contour I think it looks great. I wore it today at church and got a ton of compliments. However they can definitely go darker so we can wear it with ease.

That's why the bronzer is made red... Just for the warmth, you can see it on nyma... She wanted it to look a little like contour but that's not how it's suppose to look.

Im so sad about the bronzer. I've always wondered why the bronzer colors aren't more realistic. Like when I am "sun kissed" I get these really deep purple tones but i have never seen a bronzer that hints at purple. My best friend is olive toned and has these deep yellow-green tones as they get sun kissed. It confuses me that darker bronzers are still orange.
Idk if it's deep enough for you but Benefit Dallas is plum-toned. I am pale but also get plum bronzing in the sun and it works for me though it's a little dark and I have to go easy. MAC Antique is quite plum to me too.

I completely agree with you, the bronzer is more acting like a blush! They should add a darker shade to complete their range, this looks pretty as a blush tho, we can definitely see a little something but we need a little more

Not for me. I have a little sister that's almost as deep as Nyma and it is really hard to find base products like bronzer or blush for her complexion. It's either too light, cannot be seen, or the wrong undertone. Fenty has prided itself on being an inclusive brand so a lot of people thought (including me) that all skin tones, especially the deep dark, would be covered. Alas that is not the case.

*I’m disappointed bc i feel like because they are so focused on POC they should’ve made maybe 1 shade darker because you know, darker POC are almost always an afterthought. No you can’t be disappointed @Fion. It took them 2 years to produce something like this. The history is on my last video. Other top brands literally come out with just 2 or 3 at the most. She will bring more shades out soon but let’s not expect her to work magic overnight. There is a process to producing quality products and if they do too much standards will drop and we will complain about that 😊🌸

I think we need a deep dark makeup artist like Mother Pat or Auntie Danessa (or an artist + formulator team who understands deep dark skin tones) to come out with a properly dark, properly toned bronzer. 😎🧑🏿💖

I have light-medium skin but I still find it so interesting to watching you try out al these different products for very deep skin tones. You are so gorgeous, there should be more products that have the correct shades to enhance your natural beauty! I don’t know how you do it, my skin is so finicky, I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to find products that work for me if I had a much more limited selection.

If you have trouble with foundation shades not being warm or deep enough E.L.F cosmetics has shade and undertone adjusters which actually work decently well especially the undertone one.
I really thought they would slay the shade range...........
Dezi Monae they really did try though. Fenty has proven themselves to be a brand that always strives for inclusive products. I believe they will take this criticism and add darker shades for sure
Me too! I was just expecting a really deep shade for people with the Nyma’s skin tone. They set the bar and didn’t live up to their own standard! I feel like they will drop some deeper shades eventually but why should darker skin people have to wait months for their shade?
Because they want to get it right and not be a brand like Tarte. Making makeup is hard stuff. There’s lots of science behind it. Especially when you’re including every skin tone, undertone, and then some you really have to be kind of on the nose. Thats why it took so long for the added darker ranges in foundation
Don't get me wrong I still love this brand with everything!!! I just feel like if any brand was going to slay this bronzer shade range it would've be them. So it is disappointing coming from them..... but it's nothing to hold against the brand, you have to consider all the good they have done for the industry. I'm sure they will come out with deeper bronzer shades soon.
Dezi Monae oh most definitely! Remember when she made the puff and people said “it’d be better if it were just a loose highlighter” and they did just that? So I’m sure in a few months or so there will be darker shades that Nyma and other dark skinned beauties can use and slay!
