I feel the same about the pandemic. We are still home. My daughter hasn't gone out, my husband goes to work, & I leave once a week for essentials. I'm watching cases exponentially rise in my area, private school reopened & an entire class had to quarantine because someone sent their sick kid, etc. I'm just trying to keep myself centered. I am no longer on FB because I couldn't take it. I put my phone away at a certain time each evening. It's a lot. But I have to value my health more than a need to go shop or whatnot. Luckily, my close friends are living the same way, so I have people to talk to about it.
I've been seeing a counselor for awhile, and just being able to vent and get constructive ways to handle my anxiety has been hugely helpful during the pandemic.
I am SO HERE for ditching youtube intros - I always try to get to the point ASAP on my channel as well! I really appreciate it!

I'm born and raised in Ohio. Husband and I moved to Texas a few years ago, and I LOVE IT. I couldn't imagine being in LA. I don't think my anxiety could handle it.
I feel ya. I finally found my dream job last year, everything got together, and then everything folded in June this year and we all lost our jobs. 🙄. This year is testing us hard!

“Choosing to be home and being forced to be home are two different things” YES! I am content at home 95% of the time, but that 5% I choose to go out is just as important to my mental health.
I’m not going back to KVD yet. Mainly because I hate the lack of an actual rebrand. What they’ve done thus far is lame/lazy; it makes me think Kendo is looking for the cash grab, not building an interesting beauty company.
I’m def not defending them at all bc I also don’t support kvd but I remember reading that they were going to do a bigger rebrand but they didn’t want to waste the packaging they already had with the old name so they were using it all up then ordering new stuff

As long as she’s not affiliated in any way with the brand and the products are worth the price then I don’t see an issue.

KVD never interested me that much in the first place, so the rebrand is not making me any more interested than before. Also, her branding/packaging aesthetic is still there, so it still feels like her brand even though it's not.
As long as I know that I'm NOT supporting KVD herself...I'm totally good with making purchases and going back to the brand.
Just want to share that watching your videos has become sort of a form of coping, for me. Your energy is so down to earth and calm, and listening to you talk about makeup and life has sort of turned into a refuge for me. Thanks for sharing with us, Nyma. ❤️❤️

The rebranding Of KVD isn’t working so far. As long as the name is “KVD” it will forever be associated to Kat Von D. And it really doesn’t help that a lot of subscriptions have put them in boxes around the same time the rebranding started and the products said Kat Von D. You can also find them in Marshall’s, Ross, TJ Maxx. They will do better to change the name.
they do, they are having huge sales with massive reductions (they never had that when kat von d was still the brand) since MONTHS to get rid of their stock. they should have addressed that early on, but a few weeks ago they did and they confirmed what many have been thinking - they just have/had too much leftover packaging and product with the old name on it. their sales must have dropped a ton when the anti vax drama happened so they probably had way too much produced. should they throw tons of makeup away? of course not, especially when they are branded as vegan now which implies a certain attention to environmental issues (as one would hope).

My youngest son is a senior and it's just so much with schooling etc. We chose to continue with him being home schooled but he's been home the entire time and it's definitely affecting us. I already suffer depression and anxiety, so I had to start back with therapy and antidepressants.

I do not wear make up. I was totally for bidden to do so growing up by my dad. When my daughter, now 24 was a little girl I purchased her all kinds of play make up and dress up for her. I love the look Nyma. I'm a very deep dark complexion and I just love the makeup that is FINALLY available for us deep dark chocolate women. I mainly use Fenty and Mented cosmetics, along with Morphe eye palettes. BTW, I'm a California girl that had to move to Alabama 9 years ago and I hate it here. I miss California, but I'm going to have to learn to deal with the South for now!
I used to love the KVD lipsticks so much. I also feel I’m the only one who doesn’t know what she did to make people hate her. I don’t really follow beauty drama. I just walk through Sephora and pick out what looks good on me.
She's an active anti-vaxxer. Her and along with a lot more celebrities (Jessica Biel, Jim Carrey, Jenny McKarthy etc) use their platform to spread false information about vaccines which contributes the large increase in cases of preventable infectious illnesses that we've seen over recent years. All of these celebrities who are anti-vax have access to quality healthcare when ever they need. So when their children get ill they can AFFORD to pay for healthcare, whereas their fans who believe them most likely can't and consequently children are dying from preventable illnesses. While they're in their million dollar households they aren't exposed to regions with low vaccine rates and have absolutely no clue what society would be like without vaccines. Look at Samoa, in 2019 they had a measles epidemic where children were dying. The government implemented a vaccination campaign in which 95% of eligible Samoans got vaccinated, resulting in a substantial decrease in cases. These anti-vaxxers are trash. She's trash.

I am also a homebody but this is completely different. This has made me realize I’m not as much of an introvert as I thought. The beginning of the pandemic was awful mentally and then I feel like it got better as I settled it. That eye look screams fall and I’m here for it. It obviously won’t look the same on me but I might try to get something similar to this because this is beautiful. I think using the brown helped give it that fall look because it toned down the red.

Even without the anti-vaxx, Nazi history, there's so many other makeup brands that aren't involved in drama and controversy that are more deserving of my money.
