It’s not just makeup either.... it would be nice if we could get affordable undergarments and shoes in all shades of nude. Especially the shoes, I’m really distraught over the options out there for darker shades of “nude” shoes. I don’t guess they are aware that we are not all ivory or taupe 😂 it is so bad that I have had to resort to the traditional nude color heel in a suede fabric and cover them in foundation to even remotely match my body. That was a trick I learned from my daughter because they didn’t make darker nude shoes for ballet dancers either. It worked but ugh! We want long leg lines too LOL

Makeup is so personal. There's no reason to get dragged for not liking something. If you don't like something - you don't like it... 🤷 That should be the end of the story. I'm sorry that there are people that think you have to like something they do. It's a shame.

You got a quick click for that lip, but I am so delighted that you revisited this topic. I used to wonder why you matched to your chest when the skin tone on your face was so beautiful. I was new to the makeup world then, holding tight to the one foundation I could find to match my face, and blaming my lack of options on the fact that I live in a small city in Canada. I thought you must have so much more at your fingertips. Now I realize you didn't, or at least, not as much as you (we) should have I am so delighted and inspired to see you demanding more from the makeup world.
I dont have deep skin. I dont wear make up. And Im not a female so Im probably not even ur aimed audience.

I am SO happy that cosmetics lines are being more diverse in their shade options! I definitely think it is from people of influence like yourself who DON'T settle, who are picky, and who speak up for others when you say what works and what doesn't. There is still a ways to go yet, but I know that I have seen more growth in these past few years then ever. I still remember when Tyra Banks was talking about her start in modeling and makeup artists not having the correct shades for her and that being something she had to work against. Way to go for helping to push the issue and get brands to see the need for beautiful dark skinned women such as yourself. I love this look! Keep doing what you do, gorgeous!

omg my head and chest shade disparity is crazy. ITS CRAZY HOW we have the same problems and our routines are the same, lol #darkskinproblems.
Sunscreen really helps. Because here in Nigeria, the scorching sun can lead to hyoerpigmentation. You can buy body creams and face options for hyperpigmentation and later it with good sunscreen

I really appreciate what you had to say about black women settling and making products work when they don’t have to. I’m white, but I work at Ulta and color match deep skin frequently. I make sure to take extra time to show women techniques like yours to make sure they aren’t having to settle for something that wasn’t made with them in mind! Love learning from your videos ❤️

Nyma I'm a 45 yr old woman from Australia. My ancestry is so mixed , I have an olive under tone and I live in the tropics where it's hot and humid and sunny all year ! Extremely dry skin and my face has lost a lot of its fullness. Too thin ! Just wanted you to know how much I love your videos!

I’m a white woman- and if I cause offence i offer my deepest and sincerest apologies- but I’d honestly give almost anything to have the depth of colour you have!!! I feel so washed out all the time- I’m a white Northern European with Norwegian ancestry- I dye away my blonde hair, I do tan easily but I still don’t ever get the depth you have! Of course your skin colour and tone is natural- but it’s so damn beautiful! And your blessed to have amazing bone structure! I’ve learned to accept my lot in life with grace- but I do watch your videos and think wow you have everything that is my idea of beauty! Women of colour like yourself are raising the bar and the rightful expectations for companies to provide you the choice people of my colour are provided with! YES! I love this version of matching to your chest. People constantly want me to match my foundation to my chest but I can’t!
My chest is Fit Me 338. My neck is Fit Me 370. My face is somewhere in between (but I don’t have a Fit Me match for my face). So I match my foundation to my face and try to balance my neck and chest colors in my highlighting and contouring.
Also, thank you about the undertones. It makes a world of difference. That’s actually more of a struggle for me than finding something deep enough, my undertone is weird.
Looks so beautiful. And yes we can relate cheers to all the body parts being different colors I think that's what makes the makeup look so good the concealer Foundation powder all different colors but they all blend together to mimic the different facets of our skin
