I'm getting ready to embark on my journey to becoming a CNA, I take my classes next month and will hopefully be working at an assisted living home soon, I'm tired of having just a job and would like something that can lead to an excellent career path and the pay is too good to pass up, define nervous about the class stuff, haven't been in school in over 11 years now but I'm ready to kick ass and make some serious bread 🍞
I want to become one myself. I have recently been taking care of my grandpa who had a stroke. Kind of porting me in the right direction of what I wanted my career path to be. Now I just gotta figure out how to do it. I want to become a nursing assistant as well, so that way I can pay for my schooling to become a physical therapist
@@randyphillips6506 I start class on Tuesday, from what they told me its going to be pretty fast paced, supposed to be done with all this end of February so like 5 weeks total I think, I'm looking forward to it and I was doing house keeping at the facility I'm going to be working at so I got to know the residents and the other CNAs a little and they are all awesome individuals so that helps
I've been a CNA for 31 years now, it's a rewarding experience. I've always worked in geriatric care and enjoy that field. It's a rewarding experience but it is also very stressful at times, especially if you're short staffed and the nurses refuse to answer call lights. You are only 1 person, and if you have 3 or 4 call lights going off at the same time, that's where the stress starts to kick in. I've also had nurses tell me.. honey, I didn't go to nursing school to wipe butts. SMH.. we are ALL there for patient care.
No fr I had nurses tell me the same thing😭I just told her “u gonna allow residents die of needing help while u sit here” it’s so embarrassing when they don’t wanna help becuz y are you a nurse
@@itz_danielle000it’s probably bc you not around any new born babies or children fr there was nurse with nails working in the nicu and babies were dying from a bacteria they found and they traced it back to the nurse and she had that bacteria u see her nails and it was getting to the nicu babies and killing them
Exactly! First thing I noticed were the nails.. I'm sure they make it harder to do mundane things. How on earth is she going to use gloves without tearing them apart
I met someone in the hospital changing my mind from working in plumbing to doing this my body is so tired and im dealing with so many surgeries im starting to think its for a reasonable reason from god
Working to become this myself. Never thought I could till my gramps had a stroke and I had to take care of him. Said I could never wipe an old man ass but here I’m doing it for free. Gonna become a nursing aid so I can pay for school to become a physical therapist. Sorry my grammar is all messed up but it’s 3 am and I’m tired. He woke me up to move him up and fix his blankets. 24/7. I was wondering if u can make a video on how I became one and how to go about it
So where I work yes, but in sum places you may have to take blood pressure, vitals, and stuff but personally I didn’t have to I just took weights and mostly did adding and subtractions, hope this helps good luck!
No no no no no!!!😮. How can your place of employment allow you to have such long nails like that. That is not allowed 🚫 . I would not feel comfortable for you to bathe my gran parents. Shame those poor oldies
Sorry you don’t feel comfortable, different work enforce different requirements and mine doesn’t enforce that as long at I get my job done without harming anyone, and keeping it clean plus I wear gloves
Girl my nails are long too! You play a vital role to individuals who don’t even come visit their grandparents often. There’s more important things to look beyond and long nails are one of them. Gloves and handwashing are key. Blessings to you
I hv a full vid on my yt with more details but I will make an updated one soon n tag but I did my through my high school but u can also do it in college
Can’t speak for everyone but It’s rly not u just hv to be patient, and humble and willing to help elderly people or others in general or anyway see them as he parents/grand parents
You can’t put any dirty linen touching clean one so don’t put dirty pillow case in bed I don’t think you can I don’t remember can’t also put pillow on bed side

Wearing it cause I want to, ik we should avoid it but it’s my choice especially if my job is not enforcing that rule, as a CNA u can’t tell me u agreed/follow every rule there is, as long I’m not hurting no one it’s ok!

So is CNA like nurse side?
CNA is an assistant to the nurse, you do what ever the nurse ask but overall ur job is to take vitals, blood pressure, shower, feeding, and cleaning behind residents/patients
There more to it but that’s the overall every hospital/nursing homes is different on the require jobs for CNAs
It's basically a caregiver kinda
Ur nails!!
Why are you wearing fake nails as a CNA ? I was told we should avoid wearing stuffs like that.
Wearing it cause I want to, ik we should avoid it but it’s my choice especially if my job is not enforcing that rule, as a CNA u can’t tell me u agreed/follow every rule there is, as long I’m not hurting no one it’s ok!
why is a man talking??
