Hey, I'm 17 years old and I plan to become a travel nurse that specializes in anesthesia. I'll be in both high school and college soon and I wanted to ask you if you know how I can prepare for this. I want to become a nurse that helps people with everything I know but the thing is, I have a lot to learn. Can you teach me ?
My favorite thing about being an RN is the countless number of positions we have available to us. If you are unhappy somewhere change it up! It’s too easy to do in our field 🥰
That’s why when i hear so many horror stories about workplaces i think why not change workplaces? Im currently in nursing school so im ready for the rollercoaster
My favorite thing, is most definitely the schedule. My con, is sometimes the medical field is so demanding on your mind, body and spirit. You have to be well rounded to stay in it and LOVE it!
I hope things has gotten better for you. The first step is make a new goal and start working on that goal. Things won’t change on its own. You must do your part as well. 💫✨💫✨✨
Love this vid! One thing I love about being a nurse is the endless possibilities of where you want to take your career, which can also expand your skills and knowledge! The con is seeing how administrators easily forget that we are the backbone of these hospitals/institution.
I absolutely look forward to your videos Michelle ❤ you’re an inspiration to many of us! As a fellow RN I resonated with what you said in the interview. There are not many women that look like us in this field. I work at a Level 4 NICU in Texas, with only 5 other girls that look like me. It pushes me to strive to continue to educate myself and work my way up in my speciality! I hope God continues to bless you and thanks for being such an inspiration! 💕
Hi Michele, that is so amazing that you do what you do in the hospital, continuity of care, very important, also patients to nurse, can a nurse handle a certain patient depending on diagnosis. I left the hospital for that reason. Continue do what you do. Great video 😊
Pros of a nurse current LPN future BSN is the flexibility I’m staff and agency so the money is always there. I make my schedule so I have time for other things I’m not forced to work a m-f 9-5. Cons we are still very short staff and never have what we need for a successful shift. I feel all healthcare workers are overlooked and treated poorly we deserve wayyyy more pay and benefits!
@@allthingsmercytv4084 I didn’t skip anything I enrolled in a lpn to rn program and I’m I’m completing some bsn credits while doing so as to why I said “future BSN”
You are absolutely beautiful...and an inspirational to stay strong to get through Nursing school...keep up the good work and I wish you many more blessings to come
I loveeee being a registered nurse. The best part for me is the schedule as well, and how I can pursue other avenues and make more money with the same degree without having to go back to school if I don’t want to. The big con for me is the hospital culture and the American healthcare system. Nurses are fighting for their lives in the hospital while ceos and admin are counting their money made on our backs.Patients and family blame us for everything going wrong. It’s turns you bitter if you’re not careful.
I love this video. Congratulations again for passing your board for NP. When you do another day In life of nurse while on charge can you explain how you determine which nurse is best for which patient? Such for example if this is your first week or month how do you determine their strength for that particular patient etc to ensure it’s a match in a sense? Hope that make sense. Thank you ma’am
Michele I love your job I always love nursing but never pursued it because of life and my dad forcing me to do business and I got a healthcare administration master just to see if I can find a job in it but still Nothing I pray that God open door for me one way or another one of these days thank you for this video ❤❤❤ So proud of you for all you do in your career you are amazing. The suya and the jollof look so yummy wish I was there eating it with you
I just recently made a huge career change from marketing management to a dialysis patient care technician. I would look for Dialysis centers in your area, they often require no experience and will train you from the ground up and support you in furthering your education such as the technician testing and training and tuition reimbursement and meeting clinical requirements for nursing. I just started this new path so forgive me if I don’t know the right terms.
Hi Michele, great vlog, thanks for making them! Nursing is a very challenging profession and I salute you and thank you for your dedication since there are many similarities to my former profession in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). And speaking of the CAF, the Global/ABC TV show Combat Hospital does a really good job in depicting military medicine in the CAF. On the civilian side, don't know if you've seen the Canadian NBC/Global series Nurses filmed in my hometown of Hamilton in the building (standing in for St. Mary's Hospital) where my GP practices with the McMaster University Faculty of Medicine Family Practice? God Bless!
Pls i just came across your UA-cam channel and I love it soo much.I love nursing and want to purse a career can you talk about how you became a travel nurse and the difference between a contract nurse and travel nurse ❤❤❤thank you so much ✅
I’m just curious how you become a charge nurse ??? I am not a nurse myself as of yet. I have been considering that career path for a long time now and I do work in the NICU as a coordinator (night shift) so I do get a lot of exposure to what happens on the floor, if anything, it just peaks my interest and it makes me want to become a nurse even more because I want to be the one back there helping out and, I want to be able to do something that I’ve never thought I was capable of becoming💖 nursing is something that I never thought I would be able to do all because I have not seen any black representation even since I was little, seeing you vlog and hearing your podcast really did give me some hope and some encouragement when I do enroll for my BSN💖
About your podcast episode I would like to say I find it interesting that only 11% at the time of this were only nurses and I believe you said South African nurses because I watch a tone of UA-cam and majority of nurses and not even just nurses but other healthcare providers myself included are black/Africans/Caribbean. Myself I’m born Dutch so I would be a healthcare provider from the Nederland. Also I would like to add that even in real life I know so many black people who are nurses and healthcare providers. I don’t know if it has anything to do with what you said but I do find it interesting. I would also like to add they believe in God just like you and I.
do you think it matters where you get your BSN?! like private or public schools? I’m a nursing student and I getting my ASN rn but I want to get BSN after
You seem to have no family, children, pets, wife or husband. No art on the walls.. you have nursing.. I’m a nurse myself. I get you but I need the other things too..
