    In the video it clearly shows that she is a med tech nurse, meaning she is the nurse who makes sure each patient is getting and taking the correct medicine. She does not have direct contact with the patients, so the likelihood of her passing anything along to them would be extremely rare, especially since she's wearing gloves while working, which is shown in the video, and undoubtedly mandatory at her hospital. Although, I haven't seen anyone with nails as long as hers, if the hospital felt it was unsafe for her patients she would be reprimanded, removed, and replaced. US hospitals take health care very seriously! So everyone complaining and saying they're glad she's here in the US and not in their country need to stop, there is a proper way to give criticism without cyberbulling!

      I completely agree with you. I am an ED nurse and we are not allowed with that kind of nails. Our face is not important cause the hassle of the 12-hour shift is not easy. Speaking of myself, I don’t have time to put makeup on, honestly, is not my thing as ED nurse.

    No matters what kind of nurses we are indeed is one of the most dedicated , hardworking job ever . Our patience or clients depends life really depends on us but we just never get the credits we deserve or pays what fair for our dedications on the job . We inherits just about ever sickness our patients or clients have . i want eveyone who’s a nurse to be completely honest with me before going through this journey
    is this job hard? like mentally hard? will i find myself crying because i feel stupid and useless?
    Will i get in trouble if don’t know how to do something?
    is this job mentally stressful everyday?
    and do people actually like being a nurse rather then for money ?

    • @LorenaNicol
      @LorenaNicol  Рік тому +42

      hi! first, if you don’t have a passion in helping everyone and literally EVERYONE, nursing is not for you and you’ll catch yourself working just for the money (which eventually will drain you). the job requires TONS of responsibility because the patients lives are in your hands. nursing can be very mentally draining, but if can also be very rewarding which is why it is crucial that you find a balance between work and your private life (so that it doesn’t drain you). Personally, when I was first a nurse, yes I passed school and my NCLEX but it’s completely different once you’re on the floor. yes I did feel like I was useless and didn’t know anything, but that’s just part of the beautiful process. You learn based of experiences and set backs but at the end of the day, it’s 100% worth it! I will be uploading a video this upcoming week on tips on how to balance your life while being a nurse and what you can do so that it can be the best experience!

    • @n.pierre
      @n.pierre Рік тому +12

      Hi. I’ve been a nurse for 2 years (still considered a baby nurse) and want to give you my perspective on the job. Is the job hard, yes. Mentally? Yes. Will feel stupid and useless? Yes, at first. If you don’t know how to do something, always ask someone who has more experience than you, coworkers or charge nurse. Is it stressful everyday? There will be good days and bad days. With all that said, I LOVE THIS PROFESSION. I chose this job not for the money, although you can get great money by traveling, but because of the FLEXIBILITY. If you don’t like the job (floor, specialty, shift) you can can go into something else with the same degree. I was on a cardiac stepdown unit on nights for 20 months ( went part time due to burnout) and just started my new position in the operating room and I LOVE IT. I always knew I wanted to go into the OR since school. For all aspiring nursing or nursing school students, know yourself and where in nursing you will best fit. How do you figure that out? Shadow a nurse, watch UA-cam videos, that shows what different types of nurses do on a shift. I see a lot of newer nurses coming into the profession with different expectations and end up hating and leaving the career altogether and didn’t even exhaust all of the nursing specialties/opportunities that is out there. Hope this helps.

    I would love to know what ALF this is! It seems very laid back. I too am an agency nurse. I worked at an ALF where I was left as the only nurse for a total of 5 fl’s. 4FL’s for AL and the dementia unit and it was out of control!! I didn’t finish my morning med pass until 11am. That med pass included some wound care dressing changes as well. Then I had to restart because all my BS and insulins were due again at 11am alongside noon meds. Take it from me, not every ALF is as laid back. Some feel as though you are working in a skilled facility.

    Like nurses have their uniforms at home ? Here in Denmark the uniforms are at work and you leave them their after work. I think you will even get in trouble for coming dresses in your uniform because they are afraid we are being germs 🦠 with us. On the other hand we are not taking germs 🦠 with us at home. But Americans have cute uniforms tho😊. As we mostly only were white in the hospital.
    Oh and she can even have king nails and nail polish? We are told already at nursing school, no long nails, no nail polish and hair has to be tied up. Amazing how it’s so different.

      hi! there is a common misconception about nails and uniforms. In nursing school we are taught as if we were only working in hospitals. in hospitals you aren’t allowed to have nails, long nails, nail polish etc. and uniforms are usually taken off when leaving. I don’t work in a hospital, I go to assisted living facilities and rehab centers which are completely different settings than hospitals :)

    • @LorenaNicol
      @LorenaNicol  Рік тому +4

      It all depends on if you want to be an LPN or an RN and if you are full time or a part time student. My LPN took me 2 years because I did dual enrollment and my RN program is 15 months full time!

    Hi, I am a new member, I follow your video is very interesting, I am Italian and I am a caregiver with experience, I would like to come in USA and working as a Caregiver, at your advice, I ask you is it difficult to find a job as a caregiver msybe askung to an agency.
    Many thanks.

    • @LorenaNicol
      @LorenaNicol  Рік тому

      hi love, in the USA it is very easy to find caregiver jobs either through private or agency. right now there is a huge shortage of caregivers, CNA’s, and nurses so the facilities definitely need some employees. I would just come fully prepared financially just in case but personally, I don’t think you’ll have an issue finding employment!
