- Welcome to Cities Skylines where today I am using my skills as a professional city planner to build the most profitable city in cities skylines using stock market manipulation and suffering! Effectively we are going to build The City of London 2. As you can tell this is not going to be your standard simcity city builder experience but rather a montage of exploiting cities skylines to break the new dlc and allow us to create the most profitable city possible with basically no effort. Now we have seen RT Game destroy cities with his powers as a mayor but I am a pro player when it comes to sim city and city building in general so get ready to watch as the spiffing brit beats all other records by using bugs and exploits to win.
The following was written by an Ai because I think its funny:
In this video, I show you how I exploit the suffering of my city in Cities Skylines to make infinite money. I show you the in-game mechanics I use to do this, and how you can do the same.If you're a city builder or city planner, this is a must-watch video! I show you how I use game mechanics to exploit the suffering of my city, and how you can do the same in your own city. I also reveal some tips on how to make the most of your city, and how to make money playing city builder or city planner games!

*Stocks in Funeral Care have never been higher after the discovery of THE METEOR*
Welcome back!
Why?
How is your LTT pc ?
Who needs a funeral when every attendee is already dead?
@@attilavs2 you mean lttea pc
This is unironically a great way to show people why politicians should not be able to own stock
Then it would probably be their relatives and friends owning those I fear.
Let me introduce
nepotism.
@@Zazu1337 I mean nepotism isn't even anything compared to market manipulation
@@murphy7801 That's just a comment on the proposed solution of denying politicians to have stocks.
and also highlights that like the Vatican and Washington DC the city of London is a sovereign country (and are also registered corporations but then every country also has a corporate entity attached to it)
Holy crap, Spiff is teaching us about how our politicians think in a video-game, pure genius.
E
Sadly, people don't want to admit that this is the reality of politicians
The meteor is Coof-19.
Thank god Spiff is not a politician! He would beat them at their own game!
Not politics, but capitalism.
It is crazy how accurate Spiff's depiction of how the politicians in this country operate actually is
Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?
This is a comment presumably about every country lol.
@Cody Rice the UK, seeing as he's English. I didn't specify because firstly it's applicable to a number of countries, and secondly because context clues would imply it.
*Politicians in every country
@@merkuree I talk English but it's not my first language, what are you talking about, don't you know that some talk more than 1 language, how low have the English speakers fallen?...
That ending definitely solidified Spiff's transition from villain to supervillain.
Presentation!
The ending was 9/11 but with meteors instead of planes.
Spiff: invests all his capital into one company
Investment manager: “you should diversify your portfolio to protect yourself against market fluctuation. “
Spiff: “I AM THE MARKET FLUCTUATION”
"I AM THE MARKET! I AM THE ONE WHO STOCKS!"

"Not.Yet."
Are you threating me, Manager?
I'm actually fairly certain this is how actual politicians do it.
Well, some of the politicians pushing for wider electric vehicle adoption own shares in Tesla, so yes.
And the not-conservative party are all pro-immigration xenophiles, whilst 20% of them own shares in building companies. This is why you can't buy a house by the way.
@@GTAVictor9128 which is ironically a horrible investment as other vehicle companies are doing electric cars better.
Anyways, electric vehicles are an inevitability so it doesn't surprise me that the people who are trying to move us from fossil fuels are trying to profit off electrification of vehicles. Horrible practice that, insider trading. Worse when it makes life harder for the general population.
Oddly enough, national politicians' stock portfolios tend to outperform the stock market and leading stock traders by a substantial amount. And yes, knowing ahead of time what laws are going to be passed and how they'll affect major public companies is a huge help in that.
i mean this is just insider trading
imagine you're visiting a friend in this city and the lights and water turn off and they're just like "the mayor is probably crashing the stocks right now, it'll be on tomorrow"
25:25 I like how he put the crematoriums next to the hospitals. Just down the road in case of any accidents. Brilliant.
"We're going to cause a little bit of a financial crash"
Educating how close reality is to a game!
been subbed to spiff for a month, even though i never played any of the games that he covers lol, this guy is entertaining
Who would've guessed Spiffing would be so adept at making 100% accurate documentaries on how the world works today.

Spiff is the Kindest and most caring British person I know.
Just see how well he treats his virtual subjects.
Oh yeah...so kind...mmhm...
I think poisoning the ground water was one of the most batman villain things Spiff has done
Or he's just been thinking about Flint, MI, lately.
I got more Captain Planet villain vibes from it myself
Some cities in Michigan would be proud.
Dr. Horrible is discovering what really does happen when you throw poison in the water main.
"Joker, what did you do to the water"
"Joker? No I am the Smiffing Brit"
"This will probably affect the farming industry"
- Spiff after cutting all water and power access to his citizens
"Hurdling towards us at high profit margins" 💀
One if the best ones
The sincere excitement at the meteor approach was delightful.
Spiff profiting in chaos is really in line with the saying: "If there are two natives fighting a Brit is right next to them"
On that thought, it was the Brit wbo built their roads, rail, and advanced infrastructure.
@@blunderingfool they also made their weapons and clothes

Professional milk cows have standards.
Simple, they're unionising and go on strike
There is absolutely no stockmarket manipulation happening here, just playing the game as intended. Just lovely.
Spiff "I'm a good person, I promise."
Also Spiff "There it is ladies and gentlemen, the meteor of profitability, I can see it hurtling towards us at high speeds, high profit margins. Yes this is it, money raining from the sky"
He's become a politician, which means both things he said were incorrect from the onset.
🎶 Every time it rains it rains, pennies from heaven. 🎶
I love how by the end Spiff is just giddy 🤣
profit isn't somehow evil, the evil thing occurring in the video is the poisoning of the populace.
I see no issue here.
There might be alien lifeforms on that meteor, so we need to welcome it for the sake of inclusion alone.
Ah yes.
Real life urban planning.
cries in realism…
Is this IRL or is this VR is there fall damage can I test and see.
Urban planning? What planning?!
Urban premeditation, really.
Never thought cities skylines could be so realistic
This is the most psychopathic episode of game exploiting to date and honestly: It is still characteristically better/more sane than some regimes out there.
I’m here sitting on a bench in the middle of the square and I just DIED when you got so giddy about poisoning the ground water.
Like… I had to pause the video because I couldn’t breathe 😂
So for this episode, spiff becomes a politician! Changing policy to manipulate the stock market for giant financial gain
Sounds like the average US politician
@@hackettbr1 wouldn't you know it, congress beat the market AGAIN this year. So weird how they're able to consistently do that!
And this is why politicians should be banned from the financial sector.

I've literally learned more about the government watching this video in one sitting than I have in my whole us government class
They don’t want you becoming too smart it’s dangerous
I do economics and government/politics and business A-levels (16-18 year old education) and I am towards the end of my courses: we have not learnt about anything relating to this in the slightest
@@Usman100s that's because you need a history degree most the time to get this information.
Because you can talk about a guy 200 years ago doing this, but not someone 200 days ago.
just wait till you learn "who" pays these politicians to "change things".
It's cartoonish to imagine a mayor being able to turn off bicycles for a day and have that equal more cars, but imagine how much pressure a firm like Blackrock can exert.
Politicians around the world right now just passing legislation and fucking up urban planning to make cities more car centric: "Haha, yes! This video is for me!"
is happening with eletrical cars they are pushing for them so hard actually harder than the grid/electrical infrastructure can take it so is not news is old news.
@@AlphaCarinae It's actually the other way around--expanding highways and other car-centric infrastructure encourages people to own cars and drive more, especially if there's no better way to get from place to place (eg effective public transit). It's a form of induced demand, and it's why highway congestion never goes away for longer than a few years no matter how much the highway is expanded.

Government Agencies: *Profusely* *sweating* "our secret is out"
As a Canadian, it was cute seeing a Brit get excited by what we see on a daily basis from our neighbours to the south.
In this episode of "spiff gives city skylines devs a heart attack", spiff finally learns the true value of insider trading.
I have never found a video so entertaining, informative and so infuriating at the same time.
In Sydney Australia, it costs about 1.2 million for a house which is like 15 times the annual income of an “average person.” For a long time i was wondering why the government wasn’t trying to fix this but in this one video has shown me that the individuals in those positions are the ones making the policies and reaping the benefits from the disgusting prices. If they make it better, they loose their investments.
Well you know -- it takes like 30 guys a few months to build your house ... so it's not a huge leap to expect that it might then, take one guy 10 - 20 years to pay it off, depending income. Sorry -- in consolation -- your observation ( in general ) that everything is manipulated down to the price of a loaf of bread is not wrong.
@@spearsg you've got to keep in mind that Australian homes only used to cost 4 times the average annual income 30 years ago. Moreover, due to soaring house prices Australia has the fourth highest household debt in the world.
@@spearsg this is one of the most insanely incorrect reasonjngs ive seen

As soon as you said, "Kill off your entire population", memories of RT's old City Skylines videos/challenges/streams/experiments came to mind.
Feels like a UA-cam Rewind of the next coming off years, totally loved it!
The only fiction in this video is that the City of London has never seen this ludicrous amount of sunshine and good weather.

Spiff turns cities skylines into a real world government simulator. Brilliant
And here Spiff proves the proud British tradition of informative satire is still alive and well.
Spiff really became a super villain and immediately poisoned the water supply.
This has been one of the more informative videos I’ve ever watched. I’ve been trying to understand how market manipulation works, the way you made this video is basically ELI5
I just love how @thespiffingbrits videos have progressively shifted focus from "infinite money!" To "more war crimes!" And as time goes on the actual exploits have taken the back seat to the procurement of optimal levels of human suffering. Perfectly balanced as all things should be!
Bit like britians history...
War crimes are infinite money
We're watching a villain origin story.
**a meteor kills nearly everyone in the city**
Spiff: This will be wonderful for the economy
Spiff made the stock graphs look like heart rate monitors
Thanks for the reminder on how stocks and how "perfectly balanced" it is to make money! Being serious Great video Spiffing Brit! Hope your day is going well.
It's unsettling how close to the real world all this is.
Almost a 1 to 1 representation.
Thanks for your videos!
The only thing it's missing is a "regulatory body" to give them a tiny fine (i.e. take their cut of the profits instead of actually doing anything to stop it) whenever the market is manipulated.
Only thing missing was mandating the citizens to drink the water in order to qualify for a "health passport" that allows them to travel, work and buy food.
Except the timely meteor
ever wondered why so many politicans made a fortune while in office, even with a basic income. sometimes its not corruption sometimes it is future insight of what is to come.
Pelosi school of trading. It's a fine institution
As a British Citizen, this hits far too hard right now.
I think citizens around the world are feeling this hit too hard right now.

I could not stop laughing in the initial minutes because I know this is how things work in life. I had the greatest smile. I'll watch the rest later!
Love it! You are the British equivlalent of Kibbitz! Brilliant mate!
This is essentially what Enron did. They would basically call up town power facilities that they owned and request rolling blackouts because it was profitable for them.
How fortunate for them when that other thing happened almost immediately after the story on them broke, eh?
I sometimes feel like we’re inhabiting a game that’s being played by Spiff
Do you not remember the video about exploiting UA-cam? That's not just a feeling, and not a joke or a meme, it's literally true.
Spiff is just doing things on a much smaller scale, everyone else is actually doing this with countries
that is just capitalism in action my friend
This feels a tad close to reality
This was a great documentary, very informative.
“Yes I have become death, destroyer of worlds, but it’s not my fault that the game lets me do this”
That should be this channels motto!
I just twitched a bit when he said it though. The correct quotation is "I am become Death".
LetsGameItOut too. If something is stupid, glitchy, and time consuming, Josh will find a way to make it useful.
It is an Robert Oppenheimer Quote appropriately applied
Finally! It happened!!! After years of hearing Spiff say "that's a sacrifice I'm more than willing to TAKE" he finally said "that's a sacrifice I'm more than willing to MAKE"!!!
I am just at the second minute but I love that Spiff randomly re-discovered insider trading :D
Spiff still being better than real politicians:
One day, a city simulator will add a mechanic where doing Spiff things will lead to destitution and prison time. I'm looking forward to seeing how Spiff exploits that one.
He will turn the prison into a huge farm
If they do that I'm sure they'll also add a feature where you can buy off the legal system and msm just to keep it real
42nd 👍
Imagine a lawsuit mechanic, where you are actually held responsible for your actions.
@@ThePaperKhan that would be too unrealistic I'm afraid...could work in some capacity (and be hilarious to see spiff playing) if you can choose which of your underlings takes the fall🤣

Spiff, Crusty and Josh would create most insane masterpiece
Spiff focuses on making money
Josh focuses on destroying framerate
Thanks Spiff, roughy day today. Nice to see your content
Hey just wanted to say I hope you're doing alright
Kind of a cool system if you want to RP different parties taking over governance and actually see something change. My personal favorite is roleplaying as a lockdown mayor by cutting budgets on hospitals, schools, police, fire and other services(simulating the economic inefficiencies created) and watching everyone(especially the elderly) die as a result of my benevolent intervention.
I love being in Spiff's classroom. He's like a more dubious Ms.Frizzle
Just randomly rewatched the Cities Skylines tourney you did with RT, Quill and Biffa this morning and was like "man, I hope Spiff plays Cities again soon." I appreciate the service, but please get out of my brain now. Thanks.
Woke up today with the mood to play cities skylines, and then i saw this in my notifications 😀
Hehe this is part of the cost of becoming a channel member John... I know everything now :)
This is probably the single best demonstration of "conflict of interest" I've ever seen.
Damn that was too real!
Was getting some real LGIO vibes toward the end there too xD

I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've seen a game accurately simulate a cholera outbreak. Never expected I'd see that used on purpose.
This playthrough looks more like reality than I want to admit.
Every time I watch the spiffing Brit , I am even more proud to be English. ☕
I love how simply sadistic this is. It's a very different take on this game haha.
Imagine if politicians did this in real life. That'd be crazy, right? ha ha...

Great video! Always entertaining!

Excellent video it is. You could as well leave the watertowers where they were, add watertowers in the contaminated region and just remove their piping so that you use building and removing pipes instead of turning a valve on and of again.
It's scary how much this actually reflects contemporary Britain. I imagine bojo would of called the meteor if he was still running the show
It’s the same way in the states sadly
