Check out space engineers. They can have some pretty epic battles in that game. Especially with some of the features they've added the last year or two
The detail on the ships and the lighting is beautiful. And I absolutely love the background... having it in the sky is so much more beautiful than in deep space!
To make this even better, add in dialog so that we can hear the interaction between ships, use background music to set the mood, and have a few scenes with human footage so that it doesn't feel like machines are fighting. Great job on the video though, wish there were more of these.

The battleship guns are pretty old tech. But its hard to beat their awesomeness. I think a lot of other sci fi films/games lack the sort of brute force they display.
Eve Online, the scifi MMORPG is pretty close to this in graphics. It has awesome graphics at an amazing scale (the largest player controlled ship is thousands of times larger than the smallest player controlled ship). Each ship is controlled by a player's instead of NPC/computer AI so it runs pretty smoothly too.

This is excellent man. Especially like the camera angles following the fighters. If you were to take it further -would love to see some serious damage being traded by the capital ships.

The ships designs are cleary of Battlestar Galactica inspiration. The fighter is based onm the cylon ship design and one of the big battleships are based on the Galactica. ok, maybe im wrong, but i think its too similar. Awesome work.
apart from the fact that spaceships(especially fighters) would move so fast that simple projectile weapons(like miniguns which they probably used her(though i may be wrong)) would be nigh useless at anything but point blank range, this is awesome ever considered joining a Warhammer 40K fan movie making team? :) (not meaning that i have one or am part of one and inviting you)
Awesome scene, I am really impressed by what can be achieved now days. Flying battleships firing traditional turrets is very far fetched though. What would be really interesting to see is the future of space warfare. Will it be like WW2 battles or will technology make that type of fighting like the one you imagine obsolete. In space where you do not have to worry about the curvature of the earth, or weather, sighting the enemy will be key.
Lovely look and feel. The background is really nice and can't be faulted. A little bit of constructive criticism I have for you is that the the smaller fighters don't have a tone of detail on them but don't get me wrong they still look great! :)

wow, this looks like it could be the beginning of one hugely epic animated movie or something!
Nice animation. Those 58 seconds were far more fun to watch, and far better put together ,than the entire battleship movie.
That looks great! The only suggestions I could find to give would be adding atmosphere or mist to show depth between ships.
