    When I get this job, I'm setting aside money so I can book sessions with Dr. Barnett. You don't know just how bad I need to talk to this man. I cannot wait.

    The line that got me was to the black women, don't want a man to heal because you want a husband. That is a true statement. I enjoyed this interview. I wasn't familiar with Dr. Barnett before this interview.

    Thanks Brandi, for sharing this, awesome interview, of you and
    Dr., Jay, Wow!
    This is sooooo good!
    I am so sorry for Dr. Jay, the way he was abandoned, treated, abused, as a child! And all children, that went through, or are going through this!
    This is why are Black people, are struggling, in our marriages, relationships, with our parents, children! Many of us, are hurting as adults, and have not dealt with our childhood trauma!
    Many men, women, are going to be healed, helped, by hearing this man, testimony!
    Love this!
    Lord Jesus! Heal us where we hurt, go back to our childhood trauma, God, and heal us! (Thank God, for the late Pastor Steven Darby, in his video's, he use to pray, deeply, for God to heal our childhood hurts, traumas! ❤😊

Coming from Black Single Queen!!!I grew up in a single parent home and didn't know my father, so as a result I didn't know how to relate to men who valued me as a queen and God's Daughter!!! Your message is for women too!!! God bless you for addressing this important matter😎👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾!!! Dr. Brandi thank you for having this king as a guest on your show. Great job🤎🤎🤎💯

    It is unthinkable that the people who are supposed to love & support you sometimes will retraumatize you by not listening or denying their role in your painful memories..not believing the child or not being accountable to the child hurts them even more 💯💔

    So well said! I understand his message because I have experienced a lot of this. I had to go back and address my father, that little girl chose majority of my life, rejection and abandonment dealt with in therapy. What I can say is get in therapy before your pain overpowers you to the point of no return. That pain is intolerable. Therapy is a Godsend! I am now going to school to become the help I needed.

    • @patriciareese9851
      @patriciareese9851 Місяць тому +3

      So true cause that anger & rage has to land somewhere ..
      internalizing it causes anxiety & panic attacks..isolation leads to more depression but no one else should suffer cause of your pain ..👀hurt people hurt people 💯we all need some therapy /counseling to work through those childhood/adult traumas

    • @noble604
      @noble604 Місяць тому

      PLENTY of people have never processed trauma they’ve been through and they are neither suicìdal nor homicidal.
      Let’s not put these extremes on people.
      People walk around here all day long and function (...some on high levels/ some just barely getting by) and being suìcidal/homìcidal doesn’t apply, even in thought. There are many levels to coping/coping mechanisms. These extremes are just that.

    oooweee yall this content is so good FOR me and to me; as a trauma therapist who is finally doing her own work;
    However I teach this a little differently; as acknowledging trauma IS accepting that the person who hurt me may never be who or what I need them to be… accepting that harsh reality doesn’t mean it’s okay; & it hurts like hell…long story short I teach acceptance is
    grief; and the hardest thing to grieve is the loss of someone who is still alive… 😢; mane I gotta watch this again… just reconnected with my father…#mane🤦🏾
