Psychedelic is the answer to most severe anxiety and depression. The use of magic mushrooms completely helps one get over depression and makes you feel like yourself.
Mushrooms saved my life honestly. They helped me see the pure beauty in life, and made me realize how dumb it would be to take myself out.
They're indeed very effective in the treatment of mental health related issues.

I love the fact that more of our people are telling our story in a better light.
It is not making our parents look as bad as other people did when they told their story.
It’s not making the thugs and dealers look bad either.
It’s telling the truth about how we really grew up.
Our life was not that bad and the people around us were respectable and caring.
We all were as one in our neighborhood.
We had our village life without the problems showed on tv.
We had block parties like we all were close family.
White people got the same thing. In the 50's and 60's my parents wouldn't think twice about loading all seven of us up in the ole station wagon and go jam. They were both musically inclined, so Saturday nights were for getting together with friends for food, drink, and music. Kids running around at night with the lightning bugs, playing hide and seek. My parents would be lit, and there were no car seats! Some of my best memories as a kid. Busta was bringing it back for me.
My neighbors were like that in our old house. Almost every weekend was swimming, bonfire, bbq..
It was a once in a lifetime thing. So many good times and years of true friendship
As a 74yo grandmother...I just fell in love with Busta Rhymes after listening to this interview. Much respect. That is all.

Same here. About 25 years ago a friend and I bumped into him back stage at a concert and we were barely 18 years old. He and his security sent us on our way. At the time I was a little dejected, however in hindsight, he kept us from becoming groupies. We had no idea what that world was about and could’ve easily ended up on a trajectory of being used and discarded. Sometimes rejection can save your life. Thank you 👑KING BUSTA👑
Oh my heart! I've been going down the funky rabbit holes of Diddy and his gang and other industry guys from that time when a 21 year old or 18 year oild girl --a 16 year old even better--would be given the red carpet treatment stright to the roofies and the drugged champagn and their lives would never be the same. So many hollow-eyed men and women who will never shake the tragedy of a major sex abuse pile-on with their idols. This shows me that Busta is not just a decent man, he is a protector. Sure those girls in the above letter were not under 18, but that is not the point. Nothing magic hap;pened after midnight on your 18th birthday that will help you survive physical harm, disrespect, and aBUSE. Busta is a hero--as we are being made aware of the unholy evil that has ruined so many people's lives, it seems that Busta needs to be heard. It ain't the biz, it aint the culture, it's the individual. Chill O Ski--he woulda masde it even with that name!

I’ve been silently suffering from depression for a long time. There’s an indescribable pain I experience in my chest as if I have a perpetual broken heart. It’s hard when I hear depression being summed up just as a kind of extreme sadness because I’m a positive person, happy and thankful, but I just can’t escape that pain.
Recently I’ve tried to take steps to talk openly about my condition because it dawned on me that others are suffering silently, too, and we need to help each other…this interview brought me to tears. I’m so thankful for these honest discussions.

For example, if you are a child in the street and you diss a stranger, an elder might say, “stop that.” Because they know the NEXT stranger you do that to might walk over and beat your a** (at the best), knife you through the heart at the worst.
Because they have SEEN the consequences of people’s thoughts and actions. People don’t talk about other people’s business all the time, but they sure store the knowledge.
B’s parents (and community) are as it should be. It takes a community to grow good children. It’s an invisible support system.

You are absolutely spot on with your observations, I admire this, and do so likewise when speaking, especially answering questions. We must, because now a days, gotta be mindful of people feelings, for it seems most everyone is about their feelings.
As a 51 year old true fan of Busta, LONS etc I so appreciate how he shared the Truth on the respect between the different generations of artists in the hip hop/rap business. When you naturally walk with self respect and Respect period, you don’t allow the silliness and planned divisiveness tactic of others matter. This interview was valuable ❤

I agree, it was a totally different world back then. I am a little younger, 43, and I grew up on Long Island but I had the same experience. Our neighbors and family friends were always watching. I was a latch key kid, only child and my mom was a single mom since I was 4. Most people I went to school with had both parents and more money than we did. I would visit with my elderly neighbor a lot because I was alone and bored and she taught me a lot about life. If I was out riding my bike and it got dark out they would call my mom to make sure she was coming home to make dinner sometimes and if not they would sometimes make me a plate too because they knew we were struggling, Looking back, without the community we had helping us out idk if my mom would have made it without getting me taken away. She was always working, I don’t have a lot of fond memories with my mom growing up. as an adult and parent myself now, I realize that she wasn’t always at work when she said she was. I am thankful for the people that helped to shape me into who I am today and kept me out of trouble. These days we barely know our neighbors and I can feel the difference. My son is friendly with our 1 neighbor which I love but the rest don’t even speak with anyone. These things make a big difference in children’s lives having community.

Busta Rhymes opened his heart so deep in this interview, and I absolutely cried. I saw this rap God become a son, a husband, and a father, and I had never stopped to imagine him this way. I am a 60's child who came up loving rock music, but even I loved Busta Rhymes because he was good and absolutely entertaining. He was different and I really enjoyed watching him perform. Like he said, he was the whole deal.
This was very moving to watch and inspiring as well. Thank you so much for having him on. We'll done.

He acknowledged his guilt but added the caveat that he did what he needed to do at the time and all the better for it.
Without the "mistakes" of nearly killing himself, missing the kids' experiences, he wouldn't have had that life changing experience, etc.
Life's complex, I bet he could have stated some mistakes if asked, but that wasn't the focus. The mistakes seems to have lead to good things... So, are they mistakes?
Even not seeing his father much after his success, it taught him a valuable lesson that will make his own children better people.

Compelling interview with Busta Rhymes. Born from Jamaican parents and my dad was an electrician too. My dad (R.I.P) always pickup his kids on the weekend then take us to his side business to make extra money in addition to his job at the hospital. I remember as a kid getting on a ladder to pull cable wires through the ceiling and walls, using measuring tape, handing him tools, removing switch plates, etc. Busta Rhymes interview was so relatable like I'm sitting down in a conversation with my own family. I can listen to Busta Rhymes stories all day long.
His parents got hand-outs when they fled to America an he had to cosplay like he was an American N36R03 and he took on our CULTURE. LIAR

Busta Rhymes is a true legend..
Busta is so genuine. I love how he opened up about all of his struggles and how he continues to grow from them. He's an inspiration for sure. My favorite part was when he said you need to focus on something you'd do for free anyway instead of chasing something just to get paid.
Busta embodies all that is Hip Hop at 50. His evolution is a true testament to what we are all capable of achieving as humans. I love so much about him; most of all, his humility and grace. I never knew that Hip Hop would look like this at 50. It makes me proud.

I am 73 and i was raised the sane way. The community raised the child. No processed foods everything came from the land and everything was shared. My dad raised 18 and im thankful for him not sparing the rod. ALL PRAISES TO TMH YAHUAH

I've only ever heard, what I call, 'surface' Busta Rhymes interviews, so I was massively surprised with this dialogue. It was excellent. It stopped me in my tracks a couple of times. Superb, in fact. It was refreshing to hear about the genesis of his dynamic stage performances and he's right, come to think of it, it was/is very Sting-like plus catching a rare glimpse of Trevor made this discussion even more special. Busta openly sharing his vulnerabilities, Caribbean paternal upbringing, passion, and wisdom definitely resonated. Appreciated his authenticity about his experience with losing not only Chris but also his father. The varying hues of grief need to be spoken about more, especially by men and I'm sure what has been shared will provide hope and guidance to many. I'm saving this interview. And if anyone is scrolling through the comments, yes - it's definitely worth a listen.

I thought there was something wrong with me. 10 years after my father's passing I still cry when I'm asked what happened to him. Like Busta same day I spoke to my dad and planned on seeing him was the same day I got a call he had passed..... One can never know how to heal from such. My dad was my confidant, teacher and father. I still don't know how to heal from his death.
And I appreciate you for saying that. I too couldn't stop grieving for an important person that after, her death changed the family I held so close and to my heart, so happy in my head n heart, soul. It literally took me 10 years to say her name and actually do the remembering without the hands up, saying "nooo..still don't and can't talk or remember her." 😊 good luck

The wisdom that just poured out from Busta in this interview has given me so many insights into my own life. I can take his wisdom and apply to my life as a tattoo artist for the past 30 years. The sacrifices I’ve made to pursue my career and I carry some guilt with it from time it took away from my daughters. I have 3. I had them young so It’s like I grew up with them. I also lost my 23 year old daughter, I’m still in the heat of the battle of trying to recover from such a loss. This hit home and I greatly appreciate you for doing this. Thank you

I'm right here w/ya. I was thrown for a loop when I lost my 24y/o son (1mo. from 25) in April of 2020 to a fentanyl/cocaine OD. Died alone in a hotel room. "Friends" left.
Then in July of 2021 his mother- in -law takes his son out of state to see relatives and he drowned. There are no words...
Long story short, his dad and I divorced in 2018 but moved back in together Jan of 2019. We'd gotten along better than we ever had. We saw each other through the deaths of two souls that should have been here, had fate not reared its ugly head!😭 May 2, 2023 marked 30 years together! 25 of it married. 5 living in sin. Then I woke up Nov 19th. and he too was gone. At 60. WTF????????

This is one of the best interviews I have seen. Hard to believe Busta has never really done and interview at this length before now He is engaging and articulate. Also the interviewer is very good at asking the right questions and then allowing an in-depth response. I was very impressed with both Men.

Growing up in New York - his work and artistry knew no limits and was (and still is) in a class ALL BY HIMSELF! I humbly salute you Busta Rhymes. Thank you for sharing your stories and journey through grief and loss, and how dark it can really get; yet more importantly choose to seek help in order to move closer towards healing!

I am 45 now.I recall hearing Busta Bust for the first time on The Scenario original and remix when I was around 13 or 14. To think this dude is even better now than he has ever been is the most bewildering thing to me. Most rappers lose their touch as they get older. Rakim, Big Daddy Kane et al. didn't get better in their latter years. Another thing about Busta is his display of intelligence and wisdom. Love hearing Busta talk because he always shows black people in a good light.

Context - we are both Yard Man from JA and Jamericans, also musicians for 30 years and around the same age now...Both struggle with parents as well as how it is when dealing with someone (My Father) who missed some of my important parts of my childhood. People all that beef you have with Parents and Family - yo squash that NOW before it's too late! Busta, you NAS, Biggie on the Mount Rushmore - No doubt!

Same here! Such a beautiful story to listen to. The up, the downs the real emotions Busta Rhymes had me in absolute tears like I lost my family all over again. While his parents weren’t perfect they brought him up the best they knew how. In tears again as I type this. People need to realize that parents weren’t perfect and to give them grace. ❤
