Hey guys. Yeah have a bit of extra help with baby now grandparents rules have changed so getting a few more hours. Has to be done by the 25th as booked to go away! 😬
Watched a 3 yr old vid of a UK guy making these for his own kids, with some ali tubing and a piece of riv-nutted to the sides: took a bit of care, but it looked excellent
Its a brilliant idea that, either way you are gonna have to take it apart to replace the alluminium with black extrusion, it'd be massively cheaper to just spray paint them black, its rediculous how expensive extrusion is, i mean it's fantastic stuff but still lol
2m anodised on eBay £27. Aluminium is an arse to paint. Just flakes off. Not the cheapest solution... but I have enough jobs to do I know I’ll just pay it 🙈
@@urbanarkoverland i can imagine mate, i suppose we have to think with projects as a marathon not a sprint, doing things fast is either expensive or crap lol The build is coming along nicely 👌
I was wondering what do the kids (still) think about it ( some usage), I think is a perfect solution for us, but wifey thinks is uncomfortable for the kids, and ( possible ) dangerous
Hi. We haven’t used it all too much as the older kids rarely come with us. But I have a friend @outfit_my_sprinter (Instagram) who has two older kids and they love it. He has a RIB bed for them but they prefer the cabbunk 👍🏻
Can you tell me about how much space this takes to store? Where do you store yours in the van? How much bedding do your kids use when sleeping on them? Do they need an additional sleeping pad?
Hi. These roll up and store in a bag. A diameter small enough you can wrap your hands around. Then you have the two upright poles. I store them in the garage of the van lengthways. Kids lay in a blanket in a sleeping bag 👍🏻👍🏻
I have a rather technical question. It looks like the latest sprinter models now have a grab handle where the track goes for the sliding door entry. It looks like the cabbunk upper bunk pole would possibly have to pass through this grab handle. Do you know the diameter of the pole so I can measure if it would fit? It is hard to find people in US who are using this product and have the latest Sprinter models to know if this will work.
I’m away at moment so can’t. But you can adjust the height to maybe miss the handle. My friend has new sprinter and he has one of these and has never mentioned it. Hope this helps. Rough guess diameter would be 35mm 👍🏻
We are considering the Cabbunk for our 2019 Sprinter here in the US and we really appreciate you posting this. Our kids are 11 and 7 years old and it seems like this would work fine for them for now based on what I see in your video. Any other suggestions/tips/recommendations?
Any more tips on these beds??? Not really. Just make sure if you are having it shipped over, that you drop him a message and let him know if you have twin passenger seat or not. And if you have sliding door. You get an adjustable leg for the door sill 👍🏻
Hey. Have a response. Hi, thanks for the questions. The seats both have to swivel, then we have a special fabric version which has 3 headrests on both top and bottom bunk. For the 3 headrest version we have RHD and LHD versions, unlike normal Patented Cabbunk, but it is the same system. The bench seat has fewer controls so fitting is slightly less flexible than the two headrest normal version. Order Sprinter version as normal on our website www.cabbunk.co.uk but then email to say you require the 3 headrest version. Best wishes Richard Patented Cabbunk
Hi. Not totally sure on length. But they do fit between pillars of pretty much all vans. So if you measure from door card to door card. That’s how much bed you will create 👍🏻
Art Herrington yeah. Or if you are willing to fix the bars to your pillars. It’s another piece of aluminium box that you can extend. So my for example are different lengths. And I know that one goes in sliding door. But if you have plied then floor and it’s the same both sides. You don’t need kit. You getting one???!
@@urbanarkoverland were strongly considering a sprinter class B RV and this seems like a fantastic solution to add additional sleeping for kids. Do you still like yours?
Don't you think that you should have looked at your video b4 launching it to the internet!... LIKE HELLO MISTER!.....YOUR FREAKIN FLYS UNDONE! and not once did you think hello its a bit cold down there!
Looks like you’ve thought of everything excellent workmanship. Happy camping😎
Cracking looking bit of kit that. Looks like you are really getting on with the build!

Fantastic idea and brilliant video. Thank you
No problem. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Nicely Done! I was wondering if the vertical posts required screws. The website is lacking in details.
No mate. By the time you rack the seats back. They literally cannot move.
They are awesome fantastic idea.hope you are all well great vid mate well done.👍🇬🇧🍺🤘
All good my end pal. Hope you are staying safe. Be out there using it soon.
Thanks for you support 👍🏻👍🏻

@@urbanarkoverland fair point, it gets like that, you just think fk it, and pay just to get it over with
White Rose Outdoors do that 20 times and it starts to hurt though huh

Looking good buddy👍 hows the rest of the van coming along?
Getting there now mate. First trip booked next Saturday 😬
Can you give me the makers link, because the ebay link doesn't take me to the beds
Yeah seems like the advert has expired. Patent cabbunk is the company name.

Subscribe and like is my tip 😂
I’ve got swivel seats but a double swivel.
Would this still work?
Yes mate. Make sure you let them know in the order 👍🏻
@@urbanarkoverland nice one, thanks 👍🏻
the straps with velcro? What do we do with those?
They strap around the poles. Think this is what you mean. 👍🏻
Any idea if this would still work with a double swivel in a Sprinter?
I have the owners number. I will contact him. 👍🏻

UrbanArkOverland Thank you!
Did you by the sliding door version for your sprinter or the regular version?
You do need the sliding door version yes. As the support pole sits in the footwell. 👍🏻
How do you store it when not in use?
It comes with a bag. Roll it up and put it in its sleeve. Then you just have to find a home in the van 👍🏻
brilliant
It really is 👍🏻
How long are the bunks?

Is that the sliding door kit? That is what I meant to ask.
Yeah I got there in the end. Thought you meant the van at first. Yeah sliding door kit 👍🏻
@@urbanarkoverland Thanks! So you only need that kit if your van has the lower step in and the floor is not even all the way across?

Aren’t you keanu from EastEnders?
Not last time I checked 😂😂
Ps….. you watch eastenders? 😳
Could an adult sleep on this?
Depends how big they are ha ha. Rated up to 75kg. But seen bigger people in them.
Depends on height etc.
