    When I tell people about keto/carnivore they always say that they could never stop eating carbs and that they "would get depressed" and they "rather be happy and unhealthy" and I just think "that's the addict in you speaking".

      After my parents went vegan I witnessed my father freak out about a delay in dinner for my mother. I think it was his delay, as much as hers. It was disturbing behavior I'd never seen before, and very much like cocaine users seeking their next dose.

    Tip for parents with young children: Just now in the queue at the grocery store with my bottle of kefir, a young couple came after me with a child of about 6 years old who begged for a candy. I got to talking to the dad, and surprisingly, he knew about keto and carni and also knew why they put those candies at the checkout. In the meantime, that girl kept nagging and then I had an inspiration. I said to the dad: 'let the lady join the queue and pay and take your daughter to the exit now'. He did so, and the child's desire was immediately diverted. I wish I had known this when our children were little and did the same.

    I believe Insulin Resistance is mechanistically analogous to Dopamine Resistance. Constant carbohydrate consumption may wear out the pancreas by making it chronically hyper-secrete insulin in a similar fashion to how sugar consumption wears out the pleasure centers of the brain with dopamine hyper-secretion. Humans were never supposed to be chronically hyper-secreting either of these important chemical signalers, IMO.

    • @ChadThundercook
      @ChadThundercook Місяць тому +3

      Possibly. You can check the c-peptide level to check the function of the pancreas. Insulin is a difficult-to-use-marker because the half-life is only a few minutes, whereas the c-peptide is produced in equal amounts with insulin, but has a half-life of 30 minutes. This is especially useful to check diabetic pancreas health.

    • @labynoe

      Another thing humans were never supposed to do is eat around the clock. The idea that we need to eat 3 meals and have snacks is ridiculous. When people had to hunt and gather to feed themselves, they got nourishment when they found it. Eating around the clock causes a constant state of insulin secretion, especially as people eat too many carbs.

      It will feel like you have the flu and suck terribly if you stop cold turkey. Lots of water, lots of walking will help, but it will suck regardless. It is literally no different than a drug addict withdrawing from a drug. It usually takes your body 7 to 10 days for your body to fully convert to burning fats and ketones at which time you will start to feel better. 30 to 90 days you will be amazed at just how much better you feel and look. You will eventually start feeling better everywhere in ways that are almost indescribable. Sugar will keep calling your name through all different types of food. Bread, pasta, fruits, cakes, and bread have all tempted me thoroughly. It's not worth it. The most amazing part of this "diet" is the mental clarity that comes after the toxins fully leave your body. It will take way way more discipline than you are probably expecting, but it is totally worth it in the end.

If you can hold off on your addiction to actually get all that food in you. You won't want any of your addictions anymore. If in a few hours you crave it then nibble on a stick of butter let it cost your mouth. The craving will immediately go away. If you start feeling hungry again even after eating a lot then eat more fatty meat. Don't be scared of over eating but just make sure you're comfortably stuffed. If it's hard to eat but you're hungry then you not really hungry. Just nibble on butter. Don't count calories either. You do this you won't have anymore addictions to things. Even smoking. You all probably don't eat enough protein in one sitting to trigger an insulin spike, which is needed for your kidneys, electrolyte balance etc. Ideal weight, 2 gramms of protein per kilo in one sitting. And boom, you no longer feel like crap, amazin. No need for sugars, except your carb addiction ofc.

    • @mikepullman2513
      @mikepullman2513 Місяць тому +1

      Not enough protein or fat. Protein to heal fat for energy. Since you keep giving yourself fruit which is basically sugar and some veggies which turns into sugar in your body you're not actually allowing yourself to adapt to fat. Everyone feels like shit when they cutting an addiction. Your energy dip is no different. Longer time you waste trying to cope with broccoli and berries the longer it's going to take. As for hurting your health leading more to meat then before is always better then the first way. But optimally you'd do yourself a great disservice if you kept eating that crap. You need time to adjust. Everyone is different for adjustment periods. Depends on how fucked their diet was before. Also don't believe that shit when people say everyone different some can eat veggies blah blah. We are all the same. Same species. Only difference is how fucked up our background made us.

    Carbohydrates play a crucial protein-sparing role and are essential for maintaining overall physiological balance. Reducing carbohydrate intake is typically recommended only for individuals with primarily sedentary lifestyles or those who are overweight. For active individuals with low body fat, carbohydrate consumption adjusted to the level of physical activity is beneficial and supports optimal performance. In contrast, relying on fat as the primary fuel source can impose metabolic stress on the body, as the conversion of protein into glucose (via gluconeogenesis) is less efficient and results in the depletion of valuable protein stores.

    Dr Chaffee make alot of sense and i havnt watched all his videos but I question some of his conclusions especially on fiber and sugar which he thinks is bad. I agree that processed sugar especially gmo sugar crops sprayed with roundup and processed food with added sugar are bad for you and frutose even more so according to Dr. Lustig whom Dr. Chaffee references in another video. That said according to Dr Lustig fruits and vegetables have fiber that slows the conversion of the carbs into glucose which is very different than added processed gmo sugar in all the carb based foods. Even the inuit people Dr Chaffee makes reference to in other videos eat seaweed and berries when in season and i would imagine if iceberg lettuce grew on icebergs they would eat it as well. That said mankind has been growing crops for 1000s of years yet the heart disease cancer diabetes epidemic started in the last century when processed foods / fast foods / western diet became dominant. I kinda new to the carnivore side of story amd on one hand it make sense and it seems to have helped alot of people but so has plant based diets according to many others who post comments on those videos forks over knives for one. Right now after all the videos i watched so far i think they both work because both diets eliminate processed foods and sugar. To much of anything is likely not good for you and plants and meat both have toxins some more than others but nobody recommennds eating the real posionous plants like hemlock etc and many plants and herbs are very good for you because of the Polypheonal content which have cancer preventive properties. Grass feed beef has polypheonals because they eat grass but are decreased when you cook the meat and or veggies. Also i read processes high dose polyphenol supplents can have some serious side effects so like I mentioned to much of anything can be bad for you. For me i will continue eating raw organic fiberous fruits and vegetables and maybe more organic eggs and chicken which I read have less toxins than other animal protein sources and far less environmental impact than raisng beef.

I did electrolytes, but i think i was in a calorie deficit due to walking 20k + steps per day at my warehouse job + strength training in the evening.
    The most remarkable thing was that i tried an apple to see if my mood will increase, and my mood went up right away. So i had another, then some honey. After 3 days, i was so sore after my workouts, it lasted 4-5 days. no change in program, just the carb intake. Then 4 days later I got the flue. I think I’ve also gone off cheese too over the past 2 weeks (probably looking for sweetness too)
      So happy it’s getting easier now.

      @@upsidedown487 That's a lie ....carb eaters drink coffee no less than a carnivore.

      If you still switching addictions then eat more fat. At some point your body won't actually go looking for another addiction. Cause it knows it has every thing it needs now.
      It's kinda dumb to go from carbs to coffee cause a pack of energy when both make you crash hard. Energy being fueled with fat is crazy good cause you get a more powerful boosti in every that goes all day and you never crash. You will get sleepy later on but that's not a crash that is your body knowing that you should be going to bed. Then after you get your rest your body will wake you up immediately really early to start your day without grogginess.

    Been on carnivore for almost a month and habe lost 15lbs and off reflux meds so far. My husband and habe had a cold all week. I have stayed on it but have gained about 8 lbs in 3 days. Is it normal to do that whole sick? I feel very bloated.

      You're bloated off meat? Best thing when you're sick is to eat fatty meat. Make sure you only season with mineral salt. Cook with tallow ghee butter or lard. So not use seed oils or veg oils. Eating fatty meat does not cause boating. Chances are you're eating or drinking something you shouldn't.

      Found any plants cause inflammation which persists for days. Coffee was the last item to quit after noticing soreness lasting 48-72 hours after consumption. Confirmed this two times and being zero plant has been very helpful. Suspect the serotonin levels mentioned in the interview have increased in my case. Just don’t get too excited about much compared with before
