This video, might be simple in design, yet it was the most memorable source of info I came across before having my baby. It helped me a lot as it's highly accurate. I still giggle when my baby has the 'mysteries of the universe' face
my 2 month old has started mouthing which throws off the hunger cues because she’ll be going to town munching on her fingers and when i try to feed her she’ll scream so loud! so these change as the baby gets older, but it is a helpful video :)
Im a first time mom and I have a 2 month baby. I learned all these cues in these past 2 months by myself. I think I saw this video a little late, but is nice for reassurance.
As a doula (and mother), I can that this is SO on point! Thank you for this video, there are so many “bad” ones out there! Your baby is learning to poo, they’re not necessarily constipated! Mammas out there, second babies are there to make you question what you know - they are uniquely different, but you can work this one out too! Learning wind is particularly hard for breastfed babies, because it’s far less of an issue - but it’s still a possible issue! Overstimulation is the most distressing cry from your baby, but the hardest to spot as a new parent.
My daughter was born 8 weeks early and has finally been better at telling us what she wants. I’m proud that i already knew the hunger cues even as a first time mom. We are still practicing breastfeeding every day and she is getting so good at it. After almost 6 weeks at the hospital we can soon go home :) can’t wait!
My baby is now 4 months old but I remember finding this video when she was born and I can't even begin to explain how useful and comforting it was, not only confirmed things I suspected from my interactions with my baby as well as teaching new stuff
Thank you for mentioning the option to hold baby bare bottomed over a toilet or sink. We do elimination communication so he poops either in his little potty or over the sink. I find it so counterintuitive to know your baby is about to poop or pee and just sit there and let them mess their diaper. Why not just put them over a potty to let them do it like that and save a diaper, reduce diaper rash, and save time? It’s so much more hygienic
@@KlaudiaAF Not really... I clean my bathroom sink regularly. We spit into it and wash our dirty hands in it. Nothing wrong with holding an infant over the sink and rinse it down, especially if you've ever seen an infant's poop.
Just 22 days old, and I started to learn my baby girl's cue. Thanks for making this much informative video. I can now communicate with her even better. 🙏
For the past few days. I have been worried that my baby hasn't been getting enough to eat. This video helped me confirm that I am doing fine because after she eats. She does get milk drunk and happy. Thank you!

I think I don’t wait long enough before putting her in the bassinet, she wakes up almost every time! Will soothe her for longer before putting her in (unless it’s night time and she’s swaddled then she falls asleep quickly)
My little dude is just hungry and gassy, hungry and gassy all day and then sleeps like a rock a night (knock on wood), although he wakes up pretty early. We’re figerin’ it out tho, day by day, nap by nap. He’s growin like mad too, way ahead of the doctors’ schedule. They say we’re doing everything all right but it’s damn hard keeping up with him. I don’t understand how everyone does it. But I’m told it only gets easier, than goodness. 😅

Wish I had this video with my first baby! This video has been so helpful with our second. He’s a much happier baby because we can read his cues better. We’re also happier because we can understand what he needs.
Guess I already became an expert in handling the baby. I was able to guess most of them just right. I am a new mom with 6 weeks old baby. I came across all these cues before finding out this video. We just have to observe our baby to learn about them while they learn about us. 😊

They give you these cues so that you know the same for them to go so that you can take their diaper off and let them go and not have it get all over them. You can lay them over your arm like a football for a few minutes and then upright and patting them firmly, but not hard on the back. Some people tap them way to soft. My husband used to pat them low and gradually move up their backs. Try sitting up holding their head up, like in the video. Even massaging their back or tummy laying across your lap, then upright and patting again. As they grow it gets easier and soon they won’t need you to help them!
