This is the forefathers of heavy metal. There was only one or two other groups doing it like this during this time. Truly iconic. Listen to war pigs the live version if you haven’t yet.
The very beginning of Stoner Metal in 1971, they were creating whole genres of heavy music in the 70s, all heavy bands that came after owe some influence to them. Another on the great album, Masters of Reality, that is a harbinger of Doom Metal, is Into the Void, about as heavy as it gets. Sabbath is a top 10 band in Rock History, so much starts with them. Yet they still sound amazing 50+ years later and will be listened to long into the future. More Black Sabbath! Enjoy. 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶🔥
I saw these guys play this song live in the 70s. They didn’t need any dancers or auto tune . It was just four dudes playing kick ass music on stage. It sucks to get old but it would also suck to be young and have very little to be inspired by. Hats off to you guys for appreciating it !
You guys cant even imagine what it was like to hear Sabath back then. There was nothing like it before they came to the scene. The hardest shit anyone had ever heard! It almost felt like you were doing something wrong by listening to them.
Great reaction guys. Sabbath. Before you get too far, I suggest you go back to the beginning. I believe the first album ... "Black Sabbath" ... was recorded in a day and mixed the next day. The first song is ... "Black Sabbath" Ozzy Osbourne is the lead in original Sabbath I think you're going to love it all. They kick ass.
Love the middle bit, Bill and Geezer playing free jazz, then "we're back, into the heaviest riff ever, ...." perfectly synced. Some suggestions from the 1974ish Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album: title track, National Acrobat, Killing Yourself to Live, and Spiral Architect. Was one of their best and most sophisticated albums from the early classic period. Have to hear it. I'd also second all the Hand of Doom suggestions. Geezer wrote most of the lyrics, and Hand of Doom and War Pigs are lyrical classics.
Man, I tell ya what, dang ol' Black Sabbath, man, you like 'em so far, you gotta check out their self titled song, man, seach 'Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath'. Dang ol' spooky stuff, man, give ya chills, I tell ya what!
They are the grand father of heavy metal, and the lead singer Ozzy OSBORNE is the GOAT, check out Ozzy. When I saw Black Sabbath live I was doing Acid and what a show. Great job guys.
As many have said, Black Sabbath is/was considered the start of the heavy metal genre. Leading to Metallica and others. Once you start getting into prog rock, check out the song Starship Trooper by Yes. Yes and Pink Floyd, the pioneers of Prog Rock, spawning bands like Rush and Tool among others. Looking forward to your journey! Rock on!
Here is two songs from that time period you might like. Very different from Black Sabbath. The group is Tommy James and the Shondells. First song is Crystal Blue Persuasion and the other is Dragging a Line. But another one by them you would want to hear the long version is Crimson and Clover.
Love your reactions. As far as to Steely Dan- so much to choose from- go big or go home! You’re ready. Check out the title track “Aja” from the Aja album. That song will leave you with no choice but fall down that rabbit hole. No cap.
Black Sabbath is the truth. I do feel as though you two would really enjoy Pink Floyd. Darkside of the Moon is an album that is meant to be listened to in whole and it is one of the best musical experiences ever. However, if you listen to one song from it as a sampler, I'd recommend Time.
I stopped smokin pot back around 1988. Now this new stuff if i take a puff it freaks me out. Im 55 years old. The old pot was mellow. New pot i dunno, just because you can make it strong doesnt mean you should. Look at carolina reaper peppers.
Try Black Sabbath Into the Void . Black Sabbath started it all little Bluesy Dio Ronnie James Dio RIP joined BS after Ozzy Osbourne left the Band and recorded Heaven and Hell Another great Album two songs from that album are great Heaven and Hell and Children of the Sea

You guys cant even imagine what it was like to hear Sabath back then.
There was nothing like it before they came to the scene. The hardest shit anyone had ever heard! It almost felt like you were doing something wrong by listening to them.
I felt the same way when I 1st heard this over 40 years ago. Enjoy my brothers! I enjoy the sweet leaf.
That cough at the very beginning of the song is Tony Iommi the guitarist after ripping a huge hit of weed.
@@jeffreylauzon7630 like Bonham’s cough at the end of studio, In My Time Of Dying.
Black Sabbath 1968-eternity🤘

Definitely one of the first Stoner rock metal songs
You guessed what "sweet leaf" is about, any guesses what "snowblind" is about?
You should definitely check out some Robin Trower. Guitar solo in "Spellbound" will blow you away!

Symptom of the Universe. May as well do that one.
