The talent level is fabulous- JDSBR is a top pour for me and it was fun to geek out, and wow did we get to on this one, thanks. The performance was over the top. Thanks for that, can not wait for the next one.
My daughter is a percussionist in her high school band. She also plays bass guitar and piano. I played percussion in highschool and still dabble on my kit every once in a while. Love the music addition would love to hear/see more….
Cam. I thought I would hate this. It was delightful. Your ability to convey a theme musically is awesome inspiring. I was transported to a place of solace through your performance. Bravo! Encore!😊
Skipped ahead to you playing. Will watch the tasting later. Enjoyed the music Cam, just before I have to work. I need more music videos. Got me in a good mindset for work. Appreciate it
As a drummer myself, I love the percussion portion of the video! I would love to see more! The whiskey reviews are also great. I love hearing your take on all the whiskeys. I have this bottle too and it is delicious.
Great review and even better performance. Definitely should become a part of the channel because it’s who you are and that’s why we come here bud! Cheers!🥃
Bravo 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾 that vibraphone solo puts me in the mind of the Kanye West song “Roses” on the Late Registration album with all the great features in that cut. Great review Awesome solo!
Hey Cam, awesome video! I’m a fellow ESM alum (BM ‘12) and loved the vibraphone solo. JDSBBPR is also a favorite of mine, I’ve got a 133.0 proof bottle and it’s fantastic. My nerdy musician side would love it if you continued the occasional performance aspect of videos. I’d even enjoy more behind-the-scenes of the preparation process….what you practice, how you practice it, why you do it that way. Maybe even how different percussion instruments/sticks/mallets change the end product. I think a lot of people don’t realize what goes into an instrumental performance and would love brief little insights into your other passion of music. Obviously I’m biased and a whisky channel may not be the place to dive into all of this lol. Anyways, bravo and happy practicing!
Fellow percussionist/educator and bourbon enthusiast here! Great playing, with fun musicality and expression. Also, Steven's grip on vibraphone is noted and appreciated.
Awesome. You bring great credit upon yourself and the Eastman School Music-!!! Keep this type of content coming-!!!!!!!! My dad is percussionist who also graduated from Eastman (We are all born raised Rochester). Played with many bands including Chuck Mangione!
First time committing. Bro, that was so good and relaxing. Sipping whiskey and listening to this takes you on a journey of relaxation and bliss. Thanks for that, and keep them coming. CHEERS 🥃
Loved the performance and review. As an old WGI performer (I noticed your medals in the background years ago), it's great to hear great percussion. If you don't do more duel videos, please include more of just the audio of your performances while you review. Either way, keep doing more.
Congrats Cameron on the growth of the channel. I remember when your first videos came out and you were reviewing from like a living room and on a big chair lol cool how things progressed.
That JDSBBPR is definitely an advanced drinkers whiskey! Took me a few tries to appreciate it and slow down with it - you hit the nail on the head. Loved your performance, what a cool instrument!
Firstly, fantastic in depth review of the whiskey.. I didn't expect you to get all Victor Feldman on us at the end of the video, that was awesome! Sub'd!
I've enjoyed your channel, because I'm into bourbon. But I'm also a music teacher (high school choir and middle school string orchestra), so I think including your musical side in this video is super cool.
Loved the performance. That was fantastic. I liked the review but I think I enjoyed your performance even more. Definitely looking forward to more performances by you. Thank you for that.
In two words… loved it! There’s something so unique, and melancholy to the vibraphone when played so beautifully. While I get the Sinatra connection to Jack Daniels, this piece was so much smoother than this particular pour of JD. However, excellent choice of music, I found myself going back for repeated listens. Thank you for sharing your talent as a musician. And, yes… more, please! Cheers!
That was so entertaining. The performance totally made me think of British vibraphone folklore, the classic "Left Bank Two". The review, made me wonder if the BP rye can live up to the BP bourbon, which also isn't the most accessible pour, even without that rye spice. Hopefully some folks will let us all know if water opens it up, without lifting the tanins.
Absolutely love watching you play. I love all music and really appreciate your talent and passion for the music. It really shines thru. Keep playing and sharing on the channel. Cheers!
I had to grab mine to have a drink with you. My current bottle is 139 proof and fantastic. I have one more bottle in backup and it’s only 128 proof, I just hope the flavors are as good. Sounds like you really have some talent. Enjoyable performance.
My bottle has won plenty blinds for me. Very fun review, and I gotta say I wasn’t expecting much from the performance, but that was awesome. I might watch again with a glass 🤘
I think you're incredibly talented Cam, no question about it. For me, I'm here for your whiskey takes. The percussion just wasn't a crossover that interested me. I do love rock and metal but classical music isn't my jam. That is my feedback that you solicited at the beginning of the video. Love and respect man.
Different strokes for different folks, that’s what makes the world interesting! I’ve always been curious to ask someone who doesn’t love classical music, but does listen to rock/metal etc….would you mind listening to the beginning of Gustav Mahler’s 5th Symphony and tell me what you think? No pressure to like it, I’m honestly just curious!
I’m not worried about it play more. My wife is a guitar player and she jams in and around the Cleveland area and I’ve found that the bourbon community is big into whiskey. I’d like to see you get with a trio and do small jams and offer a whiskey while you jam. My wife is a blues player mostly but will do jazz on occasion. And yes the SBBP both rye and whiskey JD is a killer bottle. Enjoy.
My wife, also from Ohio and an Ohio State graduate, who also drinks Bourbon just retired after 35 years as a middle school music teacher... she will surly watch your channel now..😇
Great video, Cameron! I did enjoy the musical perfomance at the end. You are absolutely right about single barrel variation. My bottle of JD BP rye is a good-to-great rye, but not top 10- worthy. I wonder if Jack Daniels (particularly younger Jack Daniels) does better at higher proof. My bottle is 129 proof, while every WhiskeyTuber that has put it in the top 10 has a bottle 133+ proof. I also taste more of that acetone flavor when I add water. The trend seems to apply to the SBBP TN whiskey also. The last bottle I got (133 proof) was so good I bought two more. When I finished those, the next bottle I bought was only 129 proof and nowhere near as balanced. The notable exception to this is the Tennessee Tasters BP rye (only 127 proof and one of my top 3 ryes ever). I suspect that the barrels which went into that had a bit more age than the new shelfer version, which would also tone down the harsh flavors.
Cam this was my most anticipated bottle of the year and close 2nd to c923 for bottle of year for me....Ive bought 7 of these JDbp rye one I kiled was 135.6 that tasted of strawberry rhubarb pie ....the other 4 ive tried werent close to that first one but all have great qualities and depth of flavor....bRown Foreman rye for me is the best....a friend of mine who isn't a big drinker crushed half my bottle.of this other day i wasnt even mad i was impressed
Just a thought, but if you were to try to integrate this into your videos, you could have a small embedded video with the music playing in the background of your review/sips - might be a good way to blend the two into one if you were thinking about doing that. Had no idea what you expect at the end, but that was pretty cool and I could see how that would be a fun way to integrate things.
@@Atarizlol thanks for the feedback. Some tunes would work as background music like you’re mentioning, but other things wouldn’t work so well because they’re chaotic and intense. I’ll keep it in mind for future videos that could work that way
Ok, now you’re just showing off! 😁 Well played. Oh, and I love my JDSBBPR. I get different notes out of my bottle than you. Not as rough but you have to respect the proof.
I thoroughly enjoyed the review as well as the performance. I look forward to more of both! I was wondering if you could recommend a quality rye that really showcases how rye can be different from bourbon. I have the JDSBBPR and enjoy it very much, but as you said it's a "bourbon drinkers rye". My uneducated palate and lack of experience with other rye whiskies has me longing for a more strict rye experience. Thank you, I'm really enjoying your channel.
That was super cool! I have more questions about the vibraphone than the Jack. It kind of looked like a piano with the black keys shifted toward the camera. Is that true? Is it always played with the four mallets like you had? Does it ever need tuning? How much 130 proof rye does one need to drink before learning how to play one? 😀
Outstanding whiskey review especially as you broke it down into specific and layers. You are extrememely talented and the inculsion of a performance is a great idea. However, this particular choice of song fits better with an accompanyment vs a solo instrument performance IMO.
Great stuff really shows the versatility of the instrument there the haunting type sounds really set the mood. Out of curiosity why are there gaps on the one row of keys (or whatever they're actually called)?
Why are you just doing this now? I used to come here for the Bourbon reviews and laser code controversies. Now I come here for the music. Bravo that was brilliant.
The talent level is fabulous- JDSBR is a top pour for me and it was fun to geek out, and wow did we get to on this one, thanks. The performance was over the top. Thanks for that, can not wait for the next one.
Loved the performance…thank you for sharing your talent with us. I would definitely spend the extra time a couple of times a month to listen.
Awesome playing Cameron, that takes immense talent and concentration 👏
My daughter is a percussionist in her high school band. She also plays bass guitar and piano. I played percussion in highschool and still dabble on my kit every once in a while. Love the music addition would love to hear/see more….
Cam. I thought I would hate this. It was delightful. Your ability to convey a theme musically is awesome inspiring. I was transported to a place of solace through your performance. Bravo! Encore!😊
BINGO!! I was mesmerized and love that style of content.. pairing some whiskey and music is such a great concept. Keep it coming!!
Skipped ahead to you playing. Will watch the tasting later. Enjoyed the music Cam, just before I have to work. I need more music videos. Got me in a good mindset for work. Appreciate it

Note to self, to become a better whiskey taster, buy and learn the vibraphone. Great vid, love the music addition at the end!
Every element of this vid was great Cam. Let's see/hear more.
Bravo 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾 that vibraphone solo puts me in the mind of the Kanye West song “Roses” on the Late Registration album with all the great features in that cut. Great review Awesome solo!
Music was great. Nice to see a glimpse of your other talents! Clearly passionate about all of them.
Definitely do the performance more often. Very cool. Amazing talent. Cheers brotha. Love your growth over the past month. Keep it up!

Love the “Pour”formance. Keep them coming.
I may have to steal that for this series if that’s OK with you!!
@@DrumsAndDrams fine by me
Fellow percussionist/educator and bourbon enthusiast here! Great playing, with fun musicality and expression. Also, Steven's grip on vibraphone is noted and appreciated.
Great review and performance! As a musician myself I definitely wouldn't mind seeing these every now and then.

Made my evening Cameron, thank you
Bravo on the performance Cam!

No wonder you were in the mood for a lot of notes on the JD today, the musical notes were speaking to you. I’ll see myself out now…. Great job!
Congrats Cameron on the growth of the channel. I remember when your first videos came out and you were reviewing from like a living room and on a big chair lol cool how things progressed.

Love that you were willing to share your talents. Loved the performance. Keep it up. Don’t let anyone judge you and I think your channel is great.
Bravo, Bravo, Bravo. Well played.
I like the JD Rye. Picked up a bottle a few months ago and enjoy the pours.
Always appreciate any musical artist
Now after seeing you play well your on a another level. This instrument is not easy to play and you have a serious mastery of it. Great job.
I have a local store pick of this, lovin' it! It's a half ounce sip/pour on my way to bed. Bad thing is, I don't want to brush my teeth afterwards...
Firstly, fantastic in depth review of the whiskey.. I didn't expect you to get all Victor Feldman on us at the end of the video, that was awesome! Sub'd!

Great video and and I enjoyed your performance while sitting on the porch smoking a cigar and drinking coffee.

Cheers and enjoyed the playing. Keep it up, adds little extra something and sets you apart.
I loved this format! Give me a quick review and a great performance anytime. I love how you connected the two
Wow I loved this treat, fantastic performance. It reminded me of the legend Roy Ayers. Bravo! 🥃
Wow! Loved the JD Rye review and the performance was a spectacular addition! Bravo and cheers!!
just cracked a JDSBBPR today! out of this world! - Also a fellow percussionist for 20yrs
I’ve had 5 or so of the single barrel rye’s so far, and I can say that while yes they all vary, they have all ranged from greats to really greats
Love the addition of performance! You sound awesome, the Symphony is lucky to have you as a new tenured member.

Interesting review of the Jack Daniels....Loved the performance!!! Would be great to include more in future videos...
Great performance, Cam! Would love to see more of this in your content. Perhaps more cowbell?!?
Great review, I’ve got 2 backups of this JDSBBP rye. It is so complex, and strong. Loved the performance as well!

Loved your performance! Nicely done
Super enjoyable! Frank would be raising a glass to you!
Who knew Henry Cavill’s stunt double was so talented
I love the bottle I have. Will definitely be looking to grab other barrels to compare
Super cool, much respect to the talent. Suggestion, lay an interpretation of your tasting experience under the review.
Awesome jazz performance. I could listen all night sipping on the JDSB rye😎
