    Love my Shimano Reels for offshore stuff. Have a Talica 8 and a Talica 12 and they are just so damn smooth.

    Sup Vu! would be cool if you show the different rods and model numbers that go along with these reels. im going on a trip in August and im trying to see what rods and reels i should possibly get.

    I just picked up the 20ii for knife jigs. Have it paired with the Phenix megalodon 609c

    I’m torn between getting a size 10 and 12. I want a 50-65lb setup rod for smaller tuna and yellowtail. What do you recommend ?

      50-65 lb setup . Id recommend getting the 12.
      Anything smaller line size go with the 10.

    I think the multi color braid is a lot easier turn color every 25 ft 😊love my guys at Phoenix fish supply buy all my gear from Gowdy and his crew

      I started with the colored line he recommended but it was way to hard to count colors every 25ft when that 400gram jig is ripping.

    I just bought the 12 considering returning it for the 16, just for more line capacity. Is the hassle worth driving one hour back to bass pro? Or just enjoy and save up for a 20 ?

      What do plan on using it for?
      Deep nighttime jigging id do with the 20 or even 25. 12 is perfect for the 50-60lb range but kinda small for deep jigging.

      Cool! I ordered 60lb j braid 500m. It's for Red snapper, mahi, and grouper.

      @vuau3734 so I took it out over the weekend and it doesn't feel smooth. It feels like mud tires are going 80mph on the highway. I'm returning it. If that's normal, I won't repurchase the speedmaster

    How exactly do you mark line...magic marker? Paint? I'm going out soon but no one explains how to mark all green color line? Thanks

      I mesaured my arms open finger to finder and divide by 100ft. So for me it’s 18.5 times. Just manage the line into a empty spool and mark it every 18.5 spands

    Just picked up s Speedmaster 10, how many yards of the 50lb braid were you able to get on it before the topshot and what brand of braid do you have on it? Thanks!

    • @vuau3734
      @vuau3734  11 місяців тому +1

      Not sure about the yardage but plenty to fight a mean tuna. I use white Hercules braid. I don’t use top shot anymore on my 10 , just straight to 30-40 flouro leader for fly line.

    Very good comment but I think that filling up with 40 lb fluorocarbon completely in my speed master 12 would be much better. What do you think?

    • @vuau3734
      @vuau3734  3 місяці тому +1

      That would be ok too. I like braid because it is more limp and allows bait to swim better. IMO

    How much line of 130 did you get on the 20 and is the speed master 20 capable of landing 180+ bluefin

    • @vuau3734
      @vuau3734  2 місяці тому +1

      Not sure the am amount Line but plenty for nighttime jigging. I've caught 2 over 100lbs but nothing in the 150plus range. I'm sure it would handle it just fine.

    No wind on leader?

    • @vuau3734
      @vuau3734  Рік тому

      Leader material depends on what class fish I’m around. 25 up to 60lb what I use.
