Just FYI, D1 servers are all in different generational and console pools. There is no crossplay in D1. What I mean by this is Xbox 360 player will only play with other players who have the Xbox 360 version of Destiny. This same rule applies to players playing in the Xbox One, PS3, and Ps4 versions of the game respectively. You can of course play Destiny in whatever colsole you have at the moment, but its the version of the game that decides what group of players you will actually play with Furthurmore Xbox 360/PS3 versions of the game are stuck in the Taken King/April Update era of Destiny. Xbox One/PS4 versions of the game are in the current D1 update during Age of Triumph. Crossplay wouldve definitely helped the playerbase in D1, but was not introduced until years after D2 launched
Thanks for pointing this out. It stuck out to me that he kept referencing D1 being crossplay, and I was looking through comments trying to find anyone mention this. I thought I was going crazy, and the game was crossplay and somehow I just didn't know.
As someone who has been playing D1 + D2 since Beta, D1 has so much nostalgia like I know it had a lot of problems but it's hard to remove the emotion from the game. Made so many friends and actually enjoyed doing raids. The community was so strong at that point like especially during Taken King spending countless weekends grinding for all the raid weapons was truly a fun time
4:15 there’s no way you just said it’s more boring. It was actually engaging and addicting. It was based on gunplay and skill. Destiny 2 difficulty is just based on spawning a fuck ton of champions and forcing you to use specific weapons and mods. It’s not fun at all it’s just annoying.
My brother and I just started doing the achievements for this game, and him and I both played this game on release up to the end of Taken King. We have so many fond memories in D1, we are on the grind right now and it is such a lively community!
Tbf brother Vance looks way cooler and more 'serious' than Osiris. Eventhough he's supposed to be a disciple lol. Destiny 2 story could've been way rougher and darker, woulda been nice.
What's nice about Destiny 1 is that the game is complete, and there wasn't significant cut content. There is still some, missing weapons and armour from year 1, Iron Banner, and Trials...but mostly everything else is there. It's a great game, though slow by today's standard.
About the Patrol difficulty selector, I remember WAY back in Y1, there was infact a hard difficulty for patrols. Cosmo patrol had normal at level 2 and hard at level 3-4 with the Heroic modifier active. Taken King removed these. I don't think the hard difficulty was any different, it was just there for some reason.
D1 is still very active game surprisingly with many active clans that does raids regularly believe or not, speedrun community is also active in this game, lfg same 😁. This game have something special that makes everyone play it and still hunt for those god roll gear or exotics which is incredibly fascinating and awesome 🔥.
I revisited D1 a year ago or so. Had so much fun, I never did a raid so I joined a group of European dudes and did Crota's. Got to learn how to do it, completed a quest, and heard about one of the dudes getting pics from an American stripper. Unforgettably fun!
Destiny 1 will always have a special place in my heart. One of, if not the best gaming experiences of my life despite at the time hating on the ocasional bugs upon release or updates
You mention crossplay between 360, PS3, Xbox One, and PS4, but D1 did not have crossplay between Xbox and PlayStation and definitely didn’t have crossplay between older gen and new gen consoles. Especially since, as you mentioned, cross progression ended and Rise of Iron never released on those older consoles.
I know you mostly do pvp stuff on this channel, but if you're interested, I highly suggest finding a raid group of active d1 players and having them take you through the raids. I'm sure you knew the raids in 2017, but d1 raids in 2024 play *completely* differently to how they did back then. Wrath of the Machine with modern strats is a completely different raid to WotM in 2017, and the other raids have changed quite a bit as well.
All the raids have changed an incredible amount. Primarily damage strats for bosses as new mechanics have been learnt. Such as thermite grenades being the best aksis damage (apart from cannons)
There actually is a D1 sweats community and a Skirmish tournament this Saturday. So who ever misses good D1 gameplay or wants to jump back on, definitely feel free to join!
Ive been addicted to D2 since I first played back in Beyond Light, during the other longest season ever. I first played D1 last week in Feb 2024. Sure the frame rate and basic nature of the movement is a bit jarring but I have really enjoyed the Campaigns! Trying to level my character so I can experience the Raids but I wish I had played since launch! Wish could do this with the old D2 content.
I remember when i got a titan exotic as a hunter main. After getting like 3 titan exotics in a row, i figured out that each class had a higher chance to get a different class exotic. Good times
Nah destiny 1 has always been better then destiny 2. It’s hard to explain but it has this vibe from the artstyle and the way it tells its story to the music that just has a certain feeling to it that I feel is much better. Both pvp and pve are more engaging. The exotics actually feel exotic. The loot pool and the systems are just better and not overly complicated like d2 is now. In d2 after year 1 I never felt compelled to play the raids besides just playing them. No really cool armor or weapons like d1 did. They kinda did that just not to the best degree d1 did.
I hope they never shut down this games servers the fact that Xur still shows up is actually so cool... I remember playing the beta for this game back on xbox 360 man has the time flew by.
The art style and music of Destiny 1 is so much better than D2. It used to be so immersive. Thats something that D2 players love to skip over but this game looks way better than D2. The worlds were more detailed, the lighting was better. It doesn’t matter how much better the fidelity has gotten when the execution is worse. The art style was way more impressive and the only proof you need is the fact you can load up the same spaces in both games and D1 consistently looks better.
My friends got me to play destiny 1 after we did our stuff in season of the witch and really enjoyed it trying out the orginal raids, story, how weapons work differently. Overall i enjoyed the experience very much. Id still pick d2 over d1 but still great time.
You can find clash and control almost guaranteed from 11 am PST to 9 pm PST all week, and mayhem modes a little longer than clash and control, but more unstable. Nightfalls and other strikes are pretty dead, but sometimes you find parties around reset in the afternoon of Tuesday.
My all time favourite Destiny experience was just chilling with my friend and jumping into King's Fall with a bunch of randoms on PS4, everyone was so chill and we had a great time learning the mechanics together/being taught by one guy trying to wrangle a bunch of pre-schoolers into paying attention.
I’ll never forget Christmas 2016, I was in 7th grade. Rise of Iron was a great time and I don’t think there will ever be a period that I’ll remember more from any game. SRL that year was so fun lol
Believe it or not people are still raiding in this game. I started playing again on PS4 about 3-4 months ago and as of today I’ve added 20ish people and met many more who I play with almost every day. Also the community is very nice, just people having a good time and enjoying the good ol days

this game takes me back, seeing the old elite enemy yellow skull icon is pure nostalgia, reminds me of when id run kings fall with my friends and do prison of elders before i got taken king
Can't FREAKIN wait for destiny's 2 life cycle to come to an end so I can hop onto it and enjoy what remains (story wise, raids and casual grind) without stressing for sunsetting and my lvl getting reset every few months, not to mention sinking almost full price amounts of money for dlcs...
Bringing this up, haven’t seen anyone mention it, Destiny 1 on 360 and PS3 are in a weird time freeze pre Rise of Iron. The Taken King April update was the last substantial update to the game on those consoles, therefore they don’t match in PvP with other gen versions of the game. Also, X|S and PS5 “Version” is just XBOne and ps4 versions respectively
I joined late D1 and have been playing D2 consistently since launch, I can say it is my all time favorite game franchise and I still go back to play D1 and try to experience what I never got to back when I was first getting into the game
Truly the golden gaming days for me. I don't think my friends and I played another game for like 3 years. I know the Hung Jury is in D2, but IT'S NOT THE SAME and I can't tell why. I killed an uncountable amount of enemies with that thing. Easily my favorite Primary in the game and it's not even close
DIS-47 was my go to for PvP. Perfect balance, hand laid stock, unflinching, was like a laser. Real fun HC was ill will with final round and luck in the chamber. Always hoped that found its way to D2
I'm back to playing again and really enjoying it; my 18yo son plays it too. I haven't played D2 in 2 months or so. I was easily playing D2 for about 12 hours a week, season after season but some of Bungo's recent changes have really irked me, so I really can't be bothered with it at the moment.
man, I remember I was sort of a late bloomer for destiny 1. I only started playing in 2019 when I got the game for cheap second hand as a kid on my Xbox 360. back then there were still a lot of players but last year I hopped on the game again and there was absolutely no one to be found anywhere, the social spaces were like ghost towns. It might be because I'm on a Australia/New Zealand server so the player count is lower, but it's still nice to see that the game still has active players somewhere in the world.
Myself and a buddy deleted a character and some the full play through during season 22 and had a terrific time, all d1s quirks and all.love your point about just because it’s nostalgic doesn’t make it poor to return to.was a great laugh

There are not any PS3 and XBOX 360 players in PS4 lobbies. Old Gen was left at the Taken King patch and not the Rise of Iron, and they do NOT have crossplay with Not So Old Gen.

Yo yo! D1 player here! Love to see you bringing views to the game we’ve loved so much for so long🤍 much love
Oh hello adverc
@@DeletedUser73926 hai
I've recently deleted my lvl 400 characters on my account along with all my stuff from my vault to play the game from a some what fresh start. Very refreshing to play and had a lot more fun with the game than I thought
You can of course play Destiny in whatever colsole you have at the moment, but its the version of the game that decides what group of players you will actually play with
Furthurmore Xbox 360/PS3 versions of the game are stuck in the Taken King/April Update era of Destiny.
@@WWEDX2k7fr thought i missed a chapter 😅
Also ability spam
My brother and I just started doing the achievements for this game, and him and I both played this game on release up to the end of Taken King. We have so many fond memories in D1, we are on the grind right now and it is such a lively community!
Tbf brother Vance looks way cooler and more 'serious' than Osiris. Eventhough he's supposed to be a disciple lol. Destiny 2 story could've been way rougher and darker, woulda been nice.
I haven’t played destiny in months. I think imma pay D1 a visit.
People still do raids? What are they called, never got to do any raids in D1 as I was 7 and couldn't understand them.
Hey @The_1_Dude fancy seeing you here lol
@Pumpkin_4122 you asking what the raids are called? Or who still does them?
@@MortalFyre99 What's good Mortal 😁
Hello D1 gamer 😂
Rare breed, we are lol
I come back to destiny from time to time, OG tower just feels like home and it always will
I revisited D1 a year ago or so.
To this day the Taken King era of Destiny is still some of the most fun I’ve ever had gaming, take me back 😔
You mention crossplay between 360, PS3, Xbox One, and PS4, but D1 did not have crossplay between Xbox and PlayStation and definitely didn’t have crossplay between older gen and new gen consoles.
Combined arms needs to make a comeback in D2
The one thing that stands out for me when comparing d1 to d2 are those special moments in d1 were so much more meaningful compared to d2.
Agreed. D1 looks almost cell-shaded, kinda neat.
And the planets felt more inspired
The ambient sound was immaculate as well.
Man made a nostalgia video to play a war thunder ad. Gotta respect the hustle.
I pray to relive another sunny afternoon when Destiny 1 was the relevant game
I legit read the video title and just inserted the number two… Legit did not realize this was about Destiny one
I still play D1 on the PS3 and there is still a decent size player base play to this day.
Ahh destiny 1 the good old days. When life was so much more simple. Miss the game and this game brings back memories good ones.
I miss the journey through D1.
I miss Mesa Sean.
I’ve been trying to think of this man’s name for months!!!! Thank you!!!!
@@Bucck_50 that's what the Mesa Army is for 👍
@@RypienGT that man was the truth!!! ARMS DAY with that hilarious accents lol.
My friends got me to play destiny 1 after we did our stuff in season of the witch and really enjoyed it trying out the orginal raids, story, how weapons work differently. Overall i enjoyed the experience very much.
Id still pick d2 over d1 but still great time.
Wish this game can get ah 60fps update
It would be perfect
Need to make a national Destiny 1 weekend, where a ton of guardians hop on destiny 1 for some good times.
Ps3 and ps5 cant play together cuz ps3's last update was taken king and u cant play w people on an older version
You can find clash and control almost guaranteed from 11 am PST to 9 pm PST all week, and mayhem modes a little longer than clash and control, but more unstable.
Nightfalls and other strikes are pretty dead, but sometimes you find parties around reset in the afternoon of Tuesday.
on ps4/ps5 atleast, i dont know about other platforms
ALSO, WHEN COMMUNITY CRUCIBLE TOURNAMENTS ARE GOING ON, YOU CAN FIND SKIRMISH MATCHES
If they remastered it and released it on PC no one would play Destiny 2
My all time favourite Destiny experience was just chilling with my friend and jumping into King's Fall with a bunch of randoms on PS4, everyone was so chill and we had a great time learning the mechanics together/being taught by one guy trying to wrangle a bunch of pre-schoolers into paying attention.
Destiny will always be better than Destiny 2 🗣
I’ll never forget Christmas 2016, I was in 7th grade. Rise of Iron was a great time and I don’t think there will ever be a period that I’ll remember more from any game. SRL that year was so fun lol
Needs mantling...im terrible at jumping...🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ngl I scrolled thinking this said destiny 2 and I was like… same
ps3-360 players cannot match against ps4-xone-ps5-xsx
Actually you're right I got that bit wrong!
PS3 Destiny has an advantage in that you don't need a subscription to play it like you do for PS4 and the Xbox systems.
Alot of us still play
Believe it or not people are still raiding in this game.
I started playing again on PS4 about 3-4 months ago and as of today I’ve added 20ish people and met many more who I play with almost every day. Also the community is very nice, just people having a good time and enjoying the good ol days
Why do the graphics look better
Ikr . :3 looks more detailed
had to stop watching was tearing up I love this game so much it breaks my heart that I grew up with this game and just remembering trials with my good friends that probably are so different now......
this game takes me back, seeing the old elite enemy yellow skull icon is pure nostalgia, reminds me of when id run kings fall with my friends and do prison of elders before i got taken king
D1 is better.
The nostalgia watching this video gives me goosebumps 😍. Destiny vet since Sept 2014.
Destiny one is far superior to destiny 2!!!
If you will speak about age, we spent most of our great years playing this game. its just something we cant forget. ...
Just this past year I deleted my D1 Hunter and ran back through the campaign with a new one, and you're right it's all there, was a blast.
What are the odds that Bungie does a 10 year anniversary update? FPS and fov boost? Mantling?
I just wanna play D1 trials dude 😭
DIS-47 was my go to for PvP. Perfect balance, hand laid stock, unflinching, was like a laser. Real fun HC was ill will with final round and luck in the chamber. Always hoped that found its way to D2
Will never forget the thorn .. and running vog to get the galley to do the hc crota
I would love for bungie to add back all of the vaulted content in Destiny 2, so it's a complete experience like 1. Also, we paid for all of that content, so they better
Wrath of the Machine Hard Mode completion at 16... when everyone else in my group that was my age or younger had quit out of frustration. Idk who all's dads helped me through that, but Ill remember that
I remember the joy of getting my first legendary engram only to get trolled with a blue
I wanted to get batman Arkham night but I wasnt old enough, they recommended this game and it turned to be my favorite 😢
I bought d1 again on the ps5 as I was an Xbox player and been playing for like 2 weeks now put in over 100 hours, games well and alive, there’s many communities on ps and a whole discord sever for it
I did the same thing, good times
@@jakeschilling1 such good times man, as much as I sometimes get tired of the game either being d1 or d2 it always drags me back in. The gunplay is amazing
I do. I still make weekly Xur videos for Destiny 1. I don't play as much as I used to because I am playing other games (not Destiny 2 🥺) But I still enjoy going back. Soloing POE. Solo a Nightfall. Play the story missions. Desperately want to do some Raids.
There are not any PS3 and XBOX 360 players in PS4 lobbies. Old Gen was left at the Taken King patch and not the Rise of Iron, and they do NOT have crossplay with Not So Old Gen.
I still go back to D1 every now and then. The nostalgia is real, but I do very much enjoy the gameplay from Heroic Strikes and PvP.
The things I miss most from D1 are many of the crucible maps. Firebase Delphi, OG Shores of Time, Blind Watch, First Light.
i miss d1 i would be hours just doing the same shit on orxy's ship, i loved so much and i was a kid i didn't even know how to raid but still my favorite game
I go back now and again to go play round the Rise of iron Plaguelands and Venus and to see all those lovely glowing shaders
I put well over 1000 hours into D1 and loved grinding raids and just being in the world grinding.
D2 was fun. I did the first raid set and the first expansion but it never engaged me or made me feel like I was addicted.
Honestly the movement and gunplay just felt "off" and I'm so jealous of people who get into D2 because I just can't do it. It just feels like it's missing SOMETHING that D1 had and those were some of my best memories gaming.
I still play this game a lot on both Xbox one and ps4
Yes, I agree with you. It’s very surprising that there are 16 people playing it on your platform. That’s a huge surprise really that there are at least 16 people playing.
Destiny 1 is still the perfect destiny to me…you needed more skill! You still can solo nearly every raid as long as you have the horn called gjallar
We still have tourneys, player hosted community events, speedrun teams, and solo player discords. The community is awesome
Hi soul
Seeing at least a couple people I recognize in the comments 😂
Guess we all hop on the coming back to D1 videos when they drop
Genesis Chain was the go to auto-rifle for me. When zoomed in, it fires like a full auto scout rifle.
