  • This was a waste of time, but here is how I first tried with a 49mm step up ring and better results (albeit I recommend a bigger ring!):

If you have access to a 3D printer, I have designed an adapter for 49mm and 52mm Close Up lens for the Ace Pro

Thanks mate! I have seen it 🙂
I would love to have a) aluminium threads b) in at least 58mm (because of vignetting) and c) the whole contraption fixed to the camera body to be safe at least on a road or gravel bike ride.
I have something in the making (before brands catch on and give us a lightweight cage ;)

@@luminodotcity Np, i hear ya, I would love the threads too but I just got a set of the 49mm lenses and it's only being used with the Ace Pro, so they are now a permanent fixture on those adapters lol

@@MiyagisRant Sure! I just noticed heavy vignetting in the corners even with 52mm Diopter plus an ND, especially when moving the cam a little so the flow-state kicks in. Hence me going for 62mm in the future, with the option of stepping up to my "big boy" array of 77mm film lenses.
Might be overkill, but somethings' gotta be done - such a brillian sensor and layout, this Ace Pro 🙂

@@luminodotcity vignetting is norm for any dioptre or close up lens, that's the drawback, you'll the close focusing but it'll lose out in the background. Not much you can do about that, that's just a characteristics of these lenses. The best lens to use for a good balance focus is using a +2, +4 will kill the background a lot more.

@@MiyagisRant I meant vignetting as in, shading of the image corners or even seeing the actual ring of the filter in those corners. This is of course a matter of how big said ring is chosen to be in relation to focal length of the camera lense, and how close we get the filter ring (diopter, nd, all of those) to that camera lense.
I assure you, no vignetting at all at 77mm filter thread. And 62mm should be doing it quite nicely. Vid follows ;)
