It was only after I did that and learned the moves of Alatreon more in-depth that I was able to finally put this bastard down. And then Canta goes and kills it with a goddamn bug...
I’ve only managed to kill it once with a safi hunting horn, out of the 20 or so times I failed cuz I run with randos and I’m a mid-tier player. I’m that half of the community lol

I'll be very honest with you, fighting Alatreon actually brings out people's strong multi-tasking skill. Being able to aim for the head while dodging large AoE attacks one after another for approx. 20 minutes does not exist in the majority of players. There are some players who played the entire game with their squad, which is fine, but their skills won't be as polished as solo warriors.

This kinsect does more damage than my dragon element longsword and has higher dps uptime since it can hit alatreon while hes flying, why am i even trying to solo this thing with a proper weapon.
In Monster Hunter 4U, my favorite thing was to have a blunt type Pierce up Kinsect and just hit things in the head until they died. Thank you Canta, this is my jam.

People have beaten it with every weapon, if you cant reach the dps check you need to change your build or admit your not good enough (yet), don't cry about it being unfair when its not
Phenix I’m glad someone said it. Everyone is complaining about this fight and to be honest I find it to be one of the best ones in the game. I think everyone is so used to the “spam sticky until it dies” method that anything they can’t beat that way is bad in their minds. 👍
Rank 6 element boost glaive with 3 health augments and all defensive skills is bloody amazing. Just need to choose the right kinsect element for the job.

Not sure if anyone tried this yet but you can actually dps check him with any glaice not just an elemental type. I used lightbreak glaive,buffed the kinsect and staggered him with kinsect only then switched to raw and it worked wonders. Thanks Canta for the idea, mad genius.
Kinsect doesn't scale with anything except for the slinger pod buff (which isn't affected by power prolonger OMEGALUL). You can actually get away with building full defense and still kinsect meme your way through things.
The elemental damage threshold isn't that high for single player tbh. Also a strength boost kinsect deals massive elemental damage per hit (around 50 or so depending on what kinsect you use).
This strategy works, I have been fighting this dude nonstop since he came out and I have been unsuccessful but after trying this I’m starting to have hope

The key is being aggressive af the entire time to knock him down before he does his supernova all three times and blight resist 3 for comfort you could use vitality spray + for healing

I sorta did this... only I'm bad at breaking horns... so I use a fire bug then swap to hitting it with my ice glaive when he esplody-switches then back to bug. This makes it look easy... I make it look like a real struggle.

Something else to note, the 3* element it's weak to is super effective for the dps check. Like the difference between ice(3*) and water(2*) against it's fire form was honestly higher than I expected(cleared the dps check in 2-3 mins solo w/ 3* weak element). I've also learned from a Reddit post that, it switches back to it's default form if you break the horns before an Escaton. So what me and my friend did was we chose the 3* ele it's weak to in it's default form > clear dps check > break horns > survive Escaton > repeat.

For IG players who struggle to break the horns or because of Alatreon shifting active even after both his horns are broken. Take a ice (or fire if Alatreon is ice active) IG, but a fire (ice) kinsect and attack Alatreon on the front and back legs with it if he is in the wrong active. Alatreon is shifting element? So do IG players.
LOL, and only 10 minutes longer than my IG solo time. Turns out with insect glaive the bug was secretly doing all the work for you. The thing probably did 30 - 50% of my damage for me lol.

Kinsect has been hilariously cheesy against fly spammers since forever. It's the easiest way to do Silverlos, for instance.

Have you tried using ice or fire instead of dragon? It won't be kinsect levels of carnage, but it will help alot with DPS.

How do you do +70dps in fire stage? I run a ice elemental kinsect (rarity 11 foliacath III forz) with gae bolg (elemental boost) and i rarely hit +60
