You really are a dedicated seamstress, but worth every second to achieve that result. As usual, your video is a brilliant sewing lesson. Thank you so much!🌷
Looks good. I like the sheer fabric for the sleeves. And I really enjoyed and appreciated watching you add a lining. It seems a little difficult for me to find fabrics that are opaque enough to use for clothing that would be comfortable to wear. Your instructions on adding that lining will encourage me.
Oh my goodness, what a talented seamstress you are. I love your videos I am just getting back into sewing clothes after 10 years of quilting. thank you. Love the dress
Lovely to see you. Have a lovely home time with your family. Loved the dress at the end, finish the top we may get a bit more summer when the rain give in. lol x
Your videos are perfect sewing lessons with lots of extra tips on techniques and most importantly, how to adjust on the fly. That adjustment to the back hem was so instructive: that is, thinking about how a piece fits on the body. Great video, thank you!
Wow! I absolutely love that dress. You look gorgeous in it too. I have a similar pattern and would never have gone for a sheer fabric but I'm dying to guve it a try. X
Your dress is beautiful and looks great on you. It brought back memories of the 70's. I was newly married. My cousin and I went to see the movie The Stepford Wife's. And fell in love with the dresses they were wearing at the supermarket. We went home and each of us made one of those dresses. LOL The dresses were very similar to the one you made, ours were ankle length.
I, too, have the love-hate relationship with my serger. 😅😅 You did a great job on the rolled hem! I love the tip to use some selvage in lieu of stay tape.
Awesome, Marie👏❤️. This dress is beautiful and really showcase the vibe of the 70’s, one of my favorite years. Thank you so very much for all the cool techniques. Great sew!
Thanks for sewing with me today! I found that elastic method in one of my high end t shirts I was trying to copy, it was on the top of my sleeve for a slight gathered look...can't wait to try this...thanks for explaining how it's done! Victoria
I made a top out of this pattern in the 70’s and I loved it!! It was red cotton and I put a wide black and red peasant trim ribbon on the square neckline and the front section of the sash.
I just found your channel earlier this week, and I love it. You are like the best home-ec teacher ever in how you explain everything so clearly and come up with so many little tips and tricks.
Hi Marie, your sew along video was great! I have a dress that I made where I had to add a lining in at the end although I did it, it wasn't the neatest sewing. You look very pretty in your new dress!
I remember making this as a top back in Home Ec! Mine was white cotton and I hand embroidered the yoke with a Mexican floral motif. I enjoy watching your videos and love the tips you include in them. Your dress is lovely and you look wonderful wearing it.
Beautiful!!!!!!You're ready for the high school homecoming queen court!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm pretty sure you're a professional seamstress. I watch your videos several times. Learning a lot! Can you use the tissue paper for hemming sheer fabrics? Thank you for spending the time to share your knowledge.BTW I wore a similar dress in high school for homecoming queen court; dates me..
I just found your channel and have been loving your tutorials! I'm learning lots of very helpful tips. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I'm curious what your training is, Im hearing a lot of pro tailor in what you're saying and techniques your using. 😊 p.s. fellow farm girl here. I love to see all your animals.
Hi Gina. I would consider myself to be largely "self taught" in that there was not one particular place or method I studied... I have sewn personally and at times professionally for most of my life and truly love the process :)
You so fancy!! ;) A beautiful finished garment and worth all the extra effort. Your stretch lace is a year older than me!!! That hemming contraption is great. I've seen them before, but had no idea what you'd do with them. Mystery solved! Whats the name of the super lightweight interfacing you used? I bought some recently thinking it was sheer, but it seems to be much heavier than I wanted. Thank you Marie for your awesome videos!
Hi Faith! The label at the end of the bolt says Pellon P44F JAS Fusible Interfacing 20'' White. At Joann Fabrics it is usually a $1.98 per yard regular price. I wait till I can use a coupon and then I get a whole bunch. By the way that sounds like an old person phrase "I've got stretch lace older than you!!" 😂😁
Hi Marie my name is Rosie (from tailoring by Rosie) I have been in business for 30 years and love love your videos I have almost watched all of them and although I know how to sew I always learn something from you when it comes to sewing from a pattern. Well my question is what pattern did you use when you made the blue dress you are wearing love the color and the style. Thank you😊
Have been unlucky trying to find stay tape like you use. Seems a good idea to me. Will you tell me your source and brand. I know you said tailoring supplies.
Hi Mary! The tape that I think you are thinking of is sewkeyse woven stay tape. The one in the blue packaging. I see it on amazon for about $11.00 I am actually in the process of trying to find a less expensive alternative but no luck so far.
You do the best sewing tutorials on the internet! I think this looks more like a bridesmaid’s dress than a sundress, but it is lovely nonetheless.
Gorgeous dress! I so admire your inventiveness. I am learning so much with each of your sew alongs. Keep sewing, please. 🥰
You really are a dedicated seamstress, but worth every second to achieve that result. As usual, your video is a brilliant sewing lesson. Thank you so much!🌷
Great commentary, thank you!

I used this pattern in about 1975/6 as a 16 yr old , using cheesecloth and cream cotton lace! Was a favourite top.
Yes! I can picture that :)
Oh my goodness, what a talented seamstress you are. I love your videos I am just getting back into sewing clothes after 10 years of quilting.
thank you. Love the dress
Thank you Mary! I'm glad you found my channel :)
I really love that colour 😍. I remember sundresses like that in the 70's.
It came out really nice. As you say, it has a much earlier period look. Very becoming. A lot of extra work to add the lining but well worth it.
One of your best ever projects👍🏻
Lovely to see you. Have a lovely home time with your family. Loved the dress at the end, finish the top we may get a bit more summer when the rain give in. lol x

My eighth grade graduation dress! 1976. 😊 My mom made it for me.
I loved your tutorial, I've cut everything out this afternoon, thanks 😊

Wow! I absolutely love that dress. You look gorgeous in it too. I have a similar pattern and would never have gone for a sheer fabric but I'm dying to guve it a try. X
Beautiful dress, love watching your videos❤️
That reminds me of the beautiful dress Liesel was wearing during "You are 16 going on 17" in the Sound of Music.
Yes! If it was a circle skirt, exactly :)

Oh yes! So I know that the Stepford Wives were supposed to be the creepy ones in the movie, but they did dress really nice. And those hats!!!
@@mybucoliclife yeah we didn't want to be like them, we just liked their dresses. And you are right those hats 👒 were wow
I had a very similar dress in 1973. Loved it. I enjoy the illustrations from that time, too. Thank you.
I love watching you sew! You’re so patient and careful - quite inspiring! Thank you! 😀
I, too, have the love-hate relationship with my serger. 😅😅 You did a great job on the rolled hem! I love the tip to use some selvage in lieu of stay tape.

Красиво! Но юбку лучше распределить по талии, чтобы на животе не собирался мешок.

Hello!!
That blue linen dress was one of my early videos, such a great dress. So glad you enjoy my channel 😁ua-cam.com/video/q2YdEiFccls/v-deo.html
I wish you had been my home ec teacher. We had a terrible time figuring out this pattern.
😁😂😁😊❤
That must have been pretty traumatic if you're still remembering it today😁😊
Hello . I love, love all the sew along. The way you sew remained me of my ants. By the way what pattern is the blue dress your are wearing.
Your aunt's must be going to be less people.😊 the pattern for the navy blue dress is simplicity 9325. I have a video showing how to make it.😁

Sergers are so complicated
They do have their moments!.
