I'm well beyond 60, Marie, and I've got more colour in my wardrobe than ever before! When I worked, my standard "uniform", all year round, was black trousers with some kind of top. While I do still have several pairs of black trousers, I now also have many different colours of trousers, as well as patterned skirts, blouses, and multi-coloured dresses with ruffles, lace, ribbons... 😊 My hair may be grey (my choice to stop dyeing it) but that's no reason for my clothes to be dull. Long live that Stevie Nicks vibe! 😁
Thank you for sharing your mistakes. It is so nice to have someone make the same mistakes I do. I appreciate your patience when mistakes are made. Sometimes I have had to walk, give my self time to decompress. I agree with serging before sewing together. saves so much grief if you have to take the seam apart to do a "re-do" or if you want to press; much nice press open. Happy belated birthday! Hope it was as special as you are!
Wow! Thanks for the tip about how to hold the shears! I never heard that before! That might be a great help for me with the arthritis in my hands. 🎈🎂💐 Happy Birthday!
I love color. My mom used to say black only slims about 10 pounds. If you're heavy, you're heavy. You'll look heavy in black or in color, so wear what you like! Black is for funerals 😅
Happy birthday! Love watching you. I’m new to sewing, I have sausage arms, and I’ve finally taken up the hobby that my mother always suspected I would love…you’ve finally proven her right. So, she too, loves you by default. Keep up the good work!
Happy Birthday Marie. Love Love Love your video and commentary, mistakes and everything, I can relate totally!!! I turn 70 this year and love color too!
It's definitely interesting & it looks good on you! IDK that I would feel comfortable in it, but it's fun & it was interesting learning a couple of new things. I really like the 'V' neckline, I think it works much better with the style of the skirt (handkerchief style). Can't wait to see what you have planned next and I definitely can't wait to see the wedding dress (I REALLY hope you will eventually be sharing some of that process with us)!!! eventually) EDIT... BTW, I forgot to say... HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎉. Hope you had a great day!
Loved the colours. At first not so with the lace but it turns out you were right, for you it looks great. You will look so happy walking round. Love seeing your animals in the sun. X🎉
Happy Birthday. I’m happy to see your video today. Yes it’s a funky colorful dress and it turned out adorable. As to color I am 70 and I’m not going to be wearing any dark colors. No way! And to finish I say “you finish a dress only after you had to fix something done wrong” 😊
I love the dress and the fabric. Reds are my colourd❤. This was worth waiting for and I think you look stunning. It really complements yoi. Happy Birthday Week🎉🎉🎉
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Marie!!!🎂🍷 I will miss your weekly videos but truly understand that life situations and time limitations creep up on us all. Looking forward to anything that comes our way. Much love and best wishes from Oregon.💕
The pattern with the stripes is ideal for making people more stylized and to me the original pattern looks much prettier, Im not saying yours looks pretty also😊
Never noticed anyone holding sewing shears the way you showed. I love the floral fabric and the dark red that reads as a solid is lovely, too. The lace is really pretty. Interesting way the pattern creates those handkerchief points. I had assumed they were all solid panels. Mind blown! 😂 Thanks for sharing this intriguing project. 🎉
Love your reds ❤ and though i knew of Zandra from way back I didnt really appreciated her mark on fashion till i saw her work at the ROM Royal Ontario Museum. She is smiling down on your work and adventures in fashion ! 👍 @1:15 bummer. Thats sewing sometimes to know ahead what you might not know but find out later...then pick out! 😒 Im working on a lotus skirt from a quilt flimsy. Pattern from The Sewing Workshop Collection. The skirt is one pattern piece that wraps around the body! ☘️ Enjoy your birthday dress! Looks great .😊
In NZ, where I live and Christmas is in Summer, that would make a fabulous 'Christmas Pixie' dress! The lovely deep red looks like velvet, but would be so much cooler than trying to wear real velvet in Summer. Heaps of fun! And can you imagine dancing in it? I can - there'd be a lot of twirling going on... maybe I'd need some bright red 'bloomers' trimmed with lace to go with it. ;-) (We're never too old for fun, I reckon.)
Wonderful, Marie! I just have to ask myself what you do with all the glorious garments you make. I love e all your remarks about gravity - I'm 77 so I know all about gravity, lol. X x x keep it coming hon
Great instructions Marie. I love it when errors are shown with the fixes!! I heard you say you are sewing the Folkwear 123 - Austrian Dirndl Sewing Pattern. Making it for Octoberfest - I hope that is the one you have chosen - can't wait to see your next video. Zoraya Luna
I think the belt you chose looks much better than the giant bow sash on the pattern. It's lovely the way you pulled it all together! Love the kitty too☺️
Oh my word. You had no idea who Zandra L Rhodes DBE (Dame) She designed for Lady Diana; the Princess of Wales, Marc Bolam, Freddie Mercury, the list is endless. You do yourself an injustice.

Amen 😊
Me too! I was a primary teacher and practicality was required but not now I’m retired! Colours all the way and more dresses too👍
Happy and blessed birthday week!

Pattern alteration on a gridded surface is a real innovation for me. Thanks for the demonstration!

🎈🎂💐 Happy Birthday!
The dahlia fabric is so beautiful. Lovely dress!
Happy Birthday Marie!
That turned out super cute!
You are so patient, I would be saying something not so nice about myself, and anyone who is in the room, blaming them.😢
Love it. Love the color, love the V-neck and the handkerchief hem is so darn cute. Thank you for another great video.
I love it Marie ❤
Thank you! Very fun!
Great colours and design
This looks awesome and Happy Anniversary

Opps I meant to say you had mentioned a Folkwear pattern. I'm the one sewing the 123 dirndl.
Happy Birthday🎆🎈.Hoe your day is special! I always learn something new from you when I watch your video's. so, thank you...

Love the kitty too☺️
😊😊😊❤
Thank you as always for sharing your journey. I don't think the dress is flattering, though.
its not my favourite as a garment but you look like a spring elf
I sorry but this is a no go.
