You are A GENIUS , The best teacher on line sewing. I love the way how you show every STEP. I WISH you would be a teacher here in Canada Windsor Ontario. Also the Hairstyle, Color is so perfect . I started sewing and i learn so MUCH from you. Thank you for you perfect Videos. Kamilla Canada, WINDSOR ONTARIO.
It turned out very nice, but my lesson along with all of your tips, is to never work with double gauge. I wouldn't have the patience and it would have ended up in the bin. You also showed how not everything in sewing is perfect, which is true for all of us. Really enjoy your videos and your music is lovely.
I love the way you encounter obstacles and you just share how you fix it and move forward... we all hit mistakes or problems, but seeing you work thru them and sharing your techniques is GOLDEN. Thank you for sharing!
I'm glad you stuck with it. This has taught me to not give up on a project until I see the final results. You just never know what it's going to turn out to be. I really like it!
My first time seeing this intro. Your green land, the rushing water, animals, your song & words, especially "this life gives us meaning" are beautiful! I was moved close to tears. It's a dream! I so appreciate that you have shared your little piece of heaven, your home & animal neighbors. I always enjoy your sewing tips, techniques & how you work through any problems. Your dress looks great, light & comfortable, too. Thank you so much✝💗
the colour is so much better after you died it again. i don't think i would sew with with this material. the dress looks so COOL & LOOSE for a hot summers day.
Oh you are so brave to use double gauze (fabric from hell). The dress turned out really cute. I realized the pockets were going to be inside out when you were putting the stay tape and was wondering when you were going to realize it. 😊😂I love how nothing fazes you. Thank you again for a wonderful video.
Hello lovely lady, just cut out my pattern from Cheesecloth - UK fabric that is like a single gauze, USA cheesecloth is what we call muslin in the UK 🤔 anyhow, so glad I have this video to fall back on lol, so got my cuppa and going to re-watch for all those hidden gems of sewing wisdom 😁 wishing you a lovely day Marie, loves to you and all the fur and feathered babies 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
Yay! Make sure you cut out 4 band pieces instead of 2 😂muslin would be really nice and cool. By the way that helps me a lot, so many times I have read about things made out of cheese cloth and couldn't understand how it was possible. What we call cheese cloth is a very very thin and loosely woven cotton that is almost like a netting 😊
I do like this pattern. I think I will give it a try and use your tutorial while I do it. I certainly like your hints tips and recommendations. Thank you.
You have mentioned before if anyone has ideas for what they would like to see? Times being what they are, I have bought a number of things used, ThredUp, etc. without being able to try them on. I would like to know how to do things like make the underarms not gape, neckline not so low, add darts in the correct places in clothes that are already made. I am very admiring of your talent and perseverance. I cannot tell you the number of times I have put sleeves on backwards, facing flapping out the front, the list goes on :) It's kind of stunning when anything turns out.
That look way better once you did the colour again , I've got two length of gauze so glad I've watched. Love seeing the buttonholer doing a great job. x
I love your perseverance it turned out very well, i would have given up especially if there's an error on the pattern, so thank you I've learnt a lot from your tips.
It turned out rather well, I think. Glad you’re happy with it now. Mastering a challenge is often very satisfying. Thanks for sharing your helpful information.
Another very informative video depicting a real sewing experience. The dress looks very nice, so good on ya for hanging in there! Enjoyed your new theme song. Thank you so much for passing on your sewing knowledge!
I laughed out loud when you revealed the final colour... you're right about the organic look...and it does suit the style, it looks super comfy...well done for sticking with it..looking forward to your next project..x
I am going to work on this project. Thank you so much for the demo. Solve the confusion parts for the button band and neck band. Your videos teach me a lot.
I was watching with bated breath till the end to see how this turned out... And yes! Another lovely summer dress! Hopefully I can muster up the courage to attempt a shirt dress myself. Thank you for showing what sewing is actually like ❤
so glad to see how you sewed this pattern. Your organic dress looks fun and comfy. I have the same dress in progress and was confused on the front band also. instructions need improvement. finally figured out that you cut 4 front bands and 2 of those serve as facings for the front bands. had to look at the jumpsuit drawings to see this. if you make this again, try cutting out two more and after you sew the band on the dress then sew the facing to the band. the collar will fit better also. love your channel!
Thanks for the informative video. I bought some double gauze that was on sale at Hobby Lobby. It's pink...a color I would never wear. It never occurred to me to just dye it! I really like this pattern but I'm not so good that I don't have to make a muslin for absolutely everything I make. Maybe someday.
Hi Marie.. I was wondering if you ever re-dyed this dress? I was thinking a deep navy blue might cover up the green but also make it a teal color would be pretty. By the way I’m going back and watching a lot of your videos I learn so much thank you!
So, I have a dying problem... It usually hits me late at night when I'm home alone and have had way too much coffee... I dye things... :) Anyhow, I actually have washed the dress a few times with a light bleach to see what that would do, and it did lighten things up. I'm trying to get it to a somewhat uniform shade before I dye it again... because I probably will...:) Navy blue huh? Hmmmmm :)
@@mybucoliclife Yours look lovely, but I’ve struggled to fit the bands on the bottom. I’ve checked the pattern shapes and just can’t get them to fit. Loosing the will, and my fabric was expensive so really disappointed.
I made the jumpsuit out of a lyocell. I ended up throwing it in the garbage. I thought the elastic drawstring was too bulky. The sleeves were too billowy and huge! The legs were too big. The crotch came down way too low! I had to take about 2-1/2 inches off the bodice because I’m a petite. This made is impossible to get on!
That's it! Thank you sooo much. One more question if that's ok... do you have a makes video for that one? Been watching your videos and don't see one. I know you are very busy, so thanks for helping me! 😊
You can use whatever needle you think will work best. I'm not really dogmatic about it. And yes the fabric is kind of strange because it is a hand dyed monster 🤣
I love your work. You are an exemplary sewist. However why you would spend all the time and money ( for the findings) on a dress made with this fabric (stained and faded) boggles my mind. I hope it was free fabric. I might use it as a trial to see how the pattern worked, but that’s about it.

Turned out beautifully.
Everytime I see your buttonholer working,, it makes me smile!

It is a rare thing when a garment goes together 100% perfectly... more of a creative art than an exact science to me 😁😊
I love the way you encounter obstacles and you just share how you fix it and move forward... we all hit mistakes or problems, but seeing you work thru them and sharing your techniques is GOLDEN. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! I appreciate that 😊😁
I like the dress, looks comfortable and becoming.

Yes to the dress! Very nice!
I'm glad you stuck with it. This has taught me to not give up on a project until I see the final results. You just never know what it's going to turn out to be. I really like it!
Cute pattern. That looks really comfortable. The rooster even gave you a shout-out. TFS!
Oh thank you
Cute dress and very well done working with gauze. Also looks like it will be comfortable and cool 🤗
I love the idea you’re working on an old singer! Mine is a 1948
I love the old machines so much. Always good to hear 😊
So cute. Looks great on you

Marie as always your videos have so many tips love the dress
Well, the dress will be very comfortable in the summer heat and its a very interesting piece of art.
Interesting is a good word for it 😁
Thank you again for another great video.

I love your peaceful land and animals...the music is pretty darn good too.
I just had to tell you before I start to watch your video 🍁🌷
Thank you 😊
Working on this pattern now - was very confused by the instructions for the band and found your video. Glad I’m not the only one perplexed.
I know right, it turns out you're supposed to cut two of those front band pieces and I only got one, but we make things work don't we?

I was a bit worried about the finished garment but hey it looks good. It works. You are an inspiration. 😍❤️

I’m making this same dress. I was at the front band. So glad to see how you did it.
Was I crazy or are those instructions a little off?
@@mybucoliclife They are off! I was really glad to see that it wasn’t just me.
I like it too!!!
I like the color. It’s green and your color and mine
Streaky algae green 😁🥴

That dress turned out very cute and perfect on you. I would've the skill to work with that gauze material but the pattern is nice.
I'm dubbing that colourway "Spring Symphony"!
Mush better than algae and avocado!

Oh! Good to know! Thanks 😁
Your pocket pleat "option" was a better design choice. You are tenacious in the best of ways. The double gauze is a bear to sew with.
Tenacious is a lot like overt stubbornness 😁😁

Dyeing fabric can be therapeutic 😊
I found it! Yay!!
Hi Marie. I have the same fabric and color! Lol. Not dyeing mine. 😉 cute dress! Thank you as always for your videos.
Yes, stay away from the dye. Bad idea... like cutting your own bangs after midnight... another bad idea :)
Kudos to you for sticking it out. sewing unattractive fabric just makes the struggles more intense. I tried so hard to like that color but failed.😅
I'm still trying 😁but it is comfortable, so I've got that going for it 😁
Perfect timing. I have my eye on gauze fabric at Joanne's. My pattern is a very simple round neck top with sleeves. Thanks for the suggestions.
That should work very nicely!!

Hello! I mentioned in the description that I cut out 2 of the front bands instead of 4, that was my issue.😁

It is an odd shaped garment. I'm glad I tried the dress instead of the jumpsuit.
Was that you singing your new theme song?..I loved it!
It was my father and daughter :)

I LOVE the white dress with pink flowers. Time stamp around 119.44. Please tell me what is the pattern for this dress?? ❤
Simplicity 8910 😊

Why not use a size 12 or 14 needle? Is it the lighting or does the green look different from one side then the other?
You can use whatever needle you think will work best. I'm not really dogmatic about it. And yes the fabric is kind of strange because it is a hand dyed monster 🤣
