As much as I hate cobbled roads, I giggled like a child all the way up the Majola when I rode it on my FJR in 2018. My pillion also said she enjoyed the vibes... I have no idea what she meant. 😇
Gorgeous scenery, whoa, never seen cobbles like that before! At 10:18, serious training for the zombie apocalypse, "it will all be about cardio-vascular fitness and orienteering skills" (from an earlier AMC video :-) Always so enjoyable, looking forward to the next episode.
I think serious training is still needed! That was a terrible display of fitness!! Those cobbles were insane. Just imagine how long that road took pave!
Cheers mate. Yeah it’s amazing up there. TBH i didn’t find it too restrictive. The best bits are too twisty to get into 2nd gear all that often! But then the FZ1 will do over 100 in 1st... But next year I’ll probably go somewhere with a 100km/h limit and a bit of a more relaxed attitude! Shame, cos it’s so beautiful!!

Very nice! I'm glad to hear that some things haven't changed. Hopefully the Alps will remain mostly unspoiled. Pico's should be good mate. That's on my list too.
Thanks very much! It’s great having so much awesome footage of an incredible place, but the current edits are sadly taking a little longer as they’re so complicated!! 😂 Next one is on the way though! 👍🏻
We used Interphone Edges in our previous Euro tour with my friend. Fantastic device with slim design. I had some issues with battery, but I got a brand new replacement for free in one day!
Nice to see you back. Magnificent scenery again, the new road looked enticing, the cobblestones, not so much. Certainly not use to them down under. The AMC returns. 😀I’ve also just done a 2500 km trip down to Phillip Island, Victoria for the Australian MotoGP. 🏍🏍No highways of course. Route planned via the NSW & Victorian Alps. ( laugh as you will, we do in fact call some of our mountain regions alps, just not the scale you guys get)Many twisties. Had a blast. Keep em coming Andy.
Thanks Russell. The cobblestone road was strangely more adventurous. We have an area near me called the Holsteinischer Switzerland. Funny because there doesn’t seem to be a single hill there!!😂
Great video Andy. Would love to go there being almost its namesake! Don't fancy those cobbles in the wet mind!! 😂 Look forward to the next instalment. 😁
One of the best motorcycling vids I've seen in a bit mate. Job well done. More interesting than 44teeth's ride through Switzerland, and hopefully cheaper too.
Must have been. YOu certainly wouldn't miss them!! :D Though it was not so straightforward how to find the old road as it was hidden round the back! Having said that, we came over this pass several times and I accidentally managed to get the old road every time on the way back up!!
Cheers Gazmatron. It was well worth the ride mate. Utterly stunning views in all directions. Feels like a bit of a timetravel experience too, riding that surface with no visible civilisation anywhere around!!
Lovely jubbly :-) Great to see it wasn't all rain and you were able to get a sneaky bit of drone stuff in. Liked the touch with the 360 camera too :-) I've been playing with the new Insta360 One X after seeing your antics :-)
Thanks mate. The weather really took a turn after that first day. I think I would still be crying if it hadn't! I was very impressed with the little drone, considering the high winds and the newbie pilot! The insta360 stuff i've seen so far look really cool! Are you happy?
@@AndyManCam it is the Spark that you have isn't it? They are bloomin amazing bits of kit :-) I guess in these locations the weather is always going to be a gamble. Them cobbled uturns looked pretty scetchy, proper testament to the tyres you fitted. I'm well impressed with the camera itself, but the app and PC software is still very much lacking. They have promised to improve on them though :-)
Yep. Spark. I think it's amazing. Results vs investment it's truly unbeatable. I found similar with the Garmin VIRB 360. The hardware was very good. But the steps needed in post production were like pulling teeth. The camera has (thankfully) long since gone back to Garmin (600 quid was too steep for me!) but I'm still dreading dealing with a lot of footage for the next videos.
@@AndyManCam the fudges I am having to do to get the One X footage is pretty painful too. Am having to render the full 360 vid, then screen grab it while watching it and adjust the camera angle "live" to be able to frame it how I want it. Then I can add that render to my main edit and rerender again! :D once their PC software gets the add ons required I am hoping it will be a lot easier and also lose less quality of the footage :-)
Ouch! That sounds like a proper nightmare! I won't complain so much then. Garmin at least had their Hyperframe feature which allows you to keyframe movements. But nevertheless, it always lost quality as their quality presets in post were totally mismatched with the original video. Obvious example of two separate teams NOT talking to each other!!
Nice video, congratulations! Via Tremola, the original Roman pass, downhill is the most beautiful passage of the Alps. 12km of cobblestones is not the best for dental fillings but it has the best views. BTW I also ride a FZ1 ( gt version) fantastic bike! (but Spluggen, Tremola & Gavia pass is better did it in a GS XD)
That looked like an epic ride mate. I really hate it when we forget crucial equipment, and forget to zip up our pockets lol. I just got back from visiting Germany and had my fill of schnitzel and good beer! Ride safe mate!
Glad you’re home safe mate, and that you enjoyed the german offerings! Yeah it’s annoying when you prepare for months and then forget things at the last moment!!
Breathtaking. Those cobble stone roads with no guard rail (of any use), scare the cr@p out of me. I hope you didn't pick up any of those Swiss speeding tickets.
Yeah we had to just try not to look over the edge too much! But hey, no risk no fun!! So far it looks like we are clear of Baron style bank emptying fines. Though we weren’t really taking the piss anyway. We did have a small run in with the rozzers, but not for any reason.
We rode up there in October this year. My good lady is scared of heights. We spent the whole time giggling while we were on cobbles. I can't wait to go back.
What a mountain pass with that beautiful scenery! What kind of bikes where you riding and did you rent them or bring your own? Where did you two travel from to get their?
Switzerland looks fantastic, hear Baron von Grumble doesn't want to go back or can not go back for a while at least driving a motor vehicle. Just wondering how you record both sides of the conversation? Mrs and I have Interphone F5s and I've recently set up a microphone in my helmet linked to Gopro 4 but obviously only record my side of the conversation. Cheers
Switzerland IS fantastic! Shame about the super slow speed limits! That said, the twisty bits in between are plenty technical enough that you don't HAVE to smash the limit to still really enjoy it. We got both halves of the conversation by taking the audio from each other's cameras. So you might have to hook a camera up on the Mrs lid too! Or maybe just a mic, feeding into the voice recording app on her phone? just an idea. :D
@@AndyManCam I think the thing to do with the swiss cops is to do 30 km/h knee downs in front of them. Repeatedly. Then, when they get pissed off and pull you over, you ask them to critique your style.

Well, I've done my calculations and I've worked out how long it would take to make that entire road out of cobble stones. And, the answer is precisely 1 billion years. Just think, all that work just to bugger up the fun of people on motorbikes.
The MTR? Or the AGV? I guess just to be gentle with it! Sadly on cheaper helmets, they have to cut the costs somewhere so we get rubbish clips and catches.
Ah yes, gotcha. Yeah it's not the best is it. You just have to be very precise. Make sure that all the holes and tabs are lined up perfectly before you try to insert the retainer piece.
