      I have had some louder ”cans” on some of my bikes. However, it would be nice if they could invent automatic baffles like they have on cars these days. Just a click of a button and you can change from highway -mode to ”belting out of corners” - mode 👌

    Gooood stuff man. Oberalp pass and Lukmanier pass where so close from your starting point and could easely be connected to San Bernardino and Splugen continuing to Maloja pass and close there is Julier pass. All very pretty. And if you go there again there are plenty more to discover :)

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  5 років тому

      Yeah, I know we could have squeezed those extra passes in and I would have loved to. But we had to draw the line somewhere. @@AndyManCam oki doki. My route was like this. Lets start from Stelvio,we went down to Bormio and then to Livigno. After that our goal was Bernina pass in Switzerland wich is starting just after Italian - Swiss border. Next pass was Albula. We sleept there. In the morning we did Julier pass,Maloja pass,Splugen pass,San bernardino,Lukmanier,Oberalp,San Gothard and sleept in Airolo. In the morning continuing on Nufenen,Furka,Susten,Grimsel,Furka again and then went to Klausen pass for a sleep. In the morning continuing our way back to Italy hitting tree more passes. Fluela pass,Offenpass and the last in Switzerland,Umbrail pass wich finishes almost at the top of Stelvio pass. Try to put all the passes in google maps in the same order i followed them and you can see the circle i did. Now im missing few more Swiss passes wich are on the French border :)

  • @HippoDrones
    @HippoDrones 6 років тому +1

    Spectacular, your cameras do an amazing job of showing the distant mountains and rock formations. It must have taken a hell of a lot of concentration riding these passes, you'd not wanna get them wrong!

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  6 років тому +1

      You’re not wrong there! You can really tell at the end of the day when your brain is mush from all the concentration! The cameras did a fine job. Sony fan boy for life yo! The fancy XAVC-S high bitrate codec certainly helps. Though 2-3 TB of footage in 7 days was the price!!

    • @HippoDrones
      @HippoDrones 6 років тому +1

      do you find you need to change the bitrate on editing to get past the UA-cam nerf, or are they kinder to you than they are us and give you the "good" codec for your 1080 stuff? (I have to pretend my footage is 4k to get the good codec and higher bitrate)

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  6 років тому +1

      Seems that they give me the VP09 codec as standard now. I just upload my video at a quality I’m happy with and let the nerfing do what it will. Though me and Smokey were discussing this subject and realised that his one of his first vlogs has the good codec, but a video 2 or 3 later doesn’t. Seems there is no rhyme or reason.

    • @HippoDrones
      @HippoDrones 6 років тому +1

      how odd, I wonder if there's a sure way to manipulate it to give the good codec?

  • @semajohn
    @semajohn 6 років тому +1

    You might be able to buy extended toe leavers for your aftermarket rear set.
    Not knowing what yours look like but it was something I could do for my Aprilia.

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  6 років тому

      You can see what my peg setup looks like in this video! I put it on screen for that exact reason! It’s just a modified peg mount with a swivelling joint. But it sets the footrest 3/4” further outwards so i have to point my toes inwards to get the levers. Going to change it to something different before next season.

    • @semajohn
      @semajohn 6 років тому +1

      @@AndyManCam I can see the peg but not the toe.
      There is things you can do to help your problem. I had the same problem with the MFW (I think that's what it was called) kit.
      If designed like the Aprilia (well like my 2nd gen) you can replace the bit, your toe push/pull to change gear.
      If you're not sure what I'm babbling on about. Look up toe leaver extension and then you'll know lol.
      However, theses always the engineers solution of cutting off and replacing the toe leaver bit of the leaver, drill a hole and replace with something else. It's what you did if you came off and needed a replacement leaver but couldn't afford a new one.

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  6 років тому +1

      Ah, gotcha. I think i’ll just go with an ordinary aftermarket peg holder. That way I can use the same pegs and still gain a bit of leg room plus a bit of ground clearance over stock. TBH just having the feet that inch and a half overall further apart makes it fee a bit like you’re riding a barrell!!

    • @semajohn
      @semajohn 6 років тому +1

      @@AndyManCam I couldn't get on with the kit I bought. Kept catching my feet on bracket for the lowering kit.
      Made myself a lowering plate with a step in it. So the pegs are no wider but still lower.

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  6 років тому

      I’d love to do something similar. Sadly home made parts in chassis critical places like the footpegs have to have TüV certification to be legal in Germany.

    Nice video 👍 It's sad you couldn't continue further on to Chiavenna, then riding the Maloja-Pass to the Engadin and then Albula. From there you got the possibility back va Oberalp or via San Bernardino Pass. This passes are mostly part of my "short" spins 😂

    • @AndyManCam

    Just watched this video, great stuff! You would probably like the Splugen Pass better if you went on beyond Montespluga all the way to Corti, because that is where the thrilling tight bends and narrow tunnels are. And a faster road back up that goes around the Lago di Isola. I have that on video but won't be edited for the next two months or so, but you can find a few movies on that bit on UA-cam. Or even better: do it yourself next time you're there. OK, end of hindsight advice, I'm going back to enjoy the rest of your Switzerland vids :-)

    Hi, great videos and thank you for sharing. I'm planning a road trip but one concern is the Swiss strict stance against speeding. Did you see many police actually on the mountain passes? I'm not going to go crazy, just a "spirited" drive ;)

    • @AndyManCam
      @AndyManCam  5 років тому +1

      Hi Pete, many thanks! Unfortunately we did see a fair few police around. As a result we kept the speeds to within 15% or so of the limit. The fines are MONUMENTAL so really not worth the risk. Plus in the twisties worth riding, if you can get the speeds above 80 in the bends, you’re a better rider than I! 😜 Luckily the place is so stunning that speed is only a small Part of the experience. You’ll be stopping every 5 minutes to take photos!

    Just wow Andy. It just keeps getting better. At one point in this video, as I was mesmerized by the stunning scenery, I thought... what would that ride be like on a Zero electric bike, with only the sound of the wind to compliment that visual feast? Now, of course, I know the e-bikes don't have the range to do this ride, and yes, I also know how you love the sound of your exhaust. But... can you imagine that experience in "silence"? I think it would give a surreal sense of being one with that stunning landscape.

      Thanks very much Mike. Yeah the scenery down there is really something else. I’ll never get enough of seeing it. I think you’re absolutely right though and I’d love to get the chance to experience that kind of ride on a Zero. Plus the amazing and instant torque would be fantastic out of those bends!! Maybe I’ll have to have a word with Zero about it!

      We got stopped the once on the way to the Grimsel pass, but more of a routine random stop check than a speed trap. We did see a fair few rozzers at the roadsides though. But the saviour was that we weren’t kicking the arse out of the speed limits. German roads for the speed, Italian roads for the ‘adventure’ and swiss roads for the views! 😉

      Don't forget though that they weren't just speeding. They were smashing the pants, socks and trousers off of the speed limit! Weird! I suppose it’s just really different. But I’m loving the hell out of the FZ1. Smoother engine, way more juice, sharper handling and it looks way meaner. Also less tiring on the longer rides due to less vibration EVERYWHERE! The bars need to be a little wider and the snatchy throttle still needs work, but it’s def my favourite bike so far.
