- For possibly the first time in my motorcycling career, I timed something right! The Timmelsjoch in south western Austria was not only open, but also almost completely empty and bathing in glorious sunshine!
Perfect ingredients for a tremendous ride. Come along, why don't you?!

Thank you - I think you quietly know just how good that little production was 😉👍🏻👊🏻✊🏻💨
I thank you! This is one of those times where i felt a little bit more satisfied with my work than normally! 😊
I have skied those mountains but now know I must return on 2 wheels in the summer, keep churning these great trips out please.
You absolutely must! Utterly astonishing!
Agree. Probably one of the best videos I've seen for cinematography and scenery, plus some good riding :) makes me want to get over there one day.
Cheers JP! I must admit that with roads and scenery like that, the other stuff is made a lot easier!!
Excellent Andy, enjoyed that. The guy or gal who parked the big yellow loading shovel on the edge of the cliff was brave ... "Ah right mate, back away, back away ... Where's he gone then" 🤣
Haha! So true! I guess that up there, they’re used to cliff edges and precarious parking spots! 😅
I have to say, this is your best video I have seen. Your cinematography and editing is masterful, (excuse the bugs). I always enjoy riding with you in uncharted territory, where I'll never be. Totally surreal in Austria, bike through the snow. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much indeed QH. It’s always a pleasure to have you along!
QH I second that
@@damienpeckham2834 Thank you Damien ☺️
And I will third that. However I do hope to get there one day soon 😊😘
@@AndyTheBadgerBarton Cheers TB. Fingers crossed mate.
I absolutely love these cuts through the tunnels!
Cheers GGG! Anything to keep it flowing!
Wow Amazing absolutely brilliant Andy the roads the weather and of course the bike riding ,the camera angles stunning.
Many, many thanks Norman. Everything really came together on this one! :D
So this is what Biker Paradise looks like...And you ve done excellent at capturing it.Respect.
It’s definitely something like this! I’ll keep searching anyway though! 😉
Man o man , I'll never get bored off watching your videos riding these mountain passes ❤
Wow, wow, wow !!!, Some nice steering going in there Andy 👌, what an amazing place, thanks again for sharing your experience 👍, and the editing is top notch 🤜
My pleasure Phil, thanks very much for coming along!
Fabulous scenery, been years since I've ridden in the Alps. So much snow!
I know right! Utterly amazing! It was already too long since I was last there. But then again, it's already too long now! :D
Wow! Just watched it twice. Can`t wait as a beginner motorcyclist to experience those great roads. What an amazing footage. Lovely video, thank you.
The first time you see it, I can assure you, it's breathtaking. But I can promise you that it will NEVER be enough! Thank YOU for watching Peter!
Fortune favours the brave Andy - what a video! Reminds me of my trip there in 2017. Fantastic!!
Thanks Ewan! I totally agree mate. I thought that if I didn't go, I'd never know. Wow was it the right choice to make! If it ends up being my only trip of the season, it will have been worth it.
Simply fantastically fabulous vide that!😎👊😁🏍🧡
Cheers AMC
Beautiful landscape. Empty(ish) roads. Just brilliant.
👍👍
Cheers Mac! The conditions really were nigh on perfect! Couldn't have asked for more!
Hi there, how have I missed your channel?! Your comments and editing is brilliant, love it. And Timmels is one of my favourite ways into Italy. And I miss it. Thanks!
Thank you so much and welcome along! Better late than never and we're still just getting started!
It doesn't get better.
Even she is quiet on the back when riding mountains.
Enjoy and happy, safe travels AMC.
Haha! Is she quiet from enjoyment, or holding on for dear life!? I reckon my mrs would hate it! 🤣
@@AndyManCam good question!
Andy you are doing this on purpose. This is the way I was going to go on my way down to lake Garda. Great video mate and you really got the right day to do it. What fantastic views. Many thanks and looking forward to more,
Only a little bit! ;D The gods really were smiling on me for this one though!
Niiiice one Andy, Makes me yearn more for the Alps n passes that i've missed so much since 2019 and this f' ing bug getting in the way of things, your vids have helped ease the pressure a titchy bit, but i really need that escape so understand totally ! as a fellow bikey mate of ours would say " live your life". cheers bud.
I can understand your pain mate. I literally got on it as SOOn as it was even slightly possible! Still, way less riding this year than I had hoped for. Glad I can help a tiny bit, but it's not the same to watch it, is it!
Absolutely stunning. It would be amazing to see that in person but for now, this will do nicely.
I second that 👍🏽
Wow!! was that an open manhole cover at the beginning of this video? ( I, kinda, expected to see Steve McQueen poke his head out ) Mind you, it would have been a hell of a long tunnel. It would give you a bit of a fright if you were going the other way on that road.
This was an extremely good ride with all those fantastic views - and you didn't get rained on. What a bonus!!
It was! I missed it at thew time, but couldn't leave it out of the video! Madness! Health and safety obviously hasn't reached Austria! The guy was just around the bend, but still, no signs or warnings of any kind!
it hurt just to see it, in a vid ... god damn that could end up nasty for a fellow biker.
Those shots over the pass, wow! Looks like a sensational ride.. keep them coming!
Imagine how it looked through real eyeballs! Breathtaking stuff! More on the way! :D
Well done Andy , as usual you’ve made a brilliant and informative video , the scenery is absolutely stunning my friend , I look forward to the rest of your trip. 👍👍👍
Cheers Adam! I always forget just how stunning it is down there, until I can see it again with my own eyes and it NEVER gets old! More on the way!
Great camera work! I've been moving so I'm late watching this. A pint and corned beef sandwich as I wait to get out on the road myself soon. Thanks again for the video. The mountains are incredible. Cheers!
Cheers Andy! Hope the move was a success and that the wait was worth it!
Wonderful, therapeutic video, Andy.
*Everyone: this is how to blend a 360 camera into a video. Masterful. 👍🏾
Thanks very much LL. That was something I tried very hard to get right. Easy to over-egg the custard with this kind of tech! Cheers!
Cheers Andy, took me to my happy place. 👍🇦🇺🏍
I'm very happy to hear that mate! Hopefully I'll get another chance soon!
Awesome. Thank you for the ride.
My pleasure! Thanks for the company ;D
And another in a quick time, cheers my brother I appreciate you immensely
Aaaah, thanks mate! Just trying to get the trip out to those who need it! I can't heal diseases or feed the hungry, but I can show motorbikes in their natural habitats! 😊
Absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Had to look twice at who I was watching normally I see rain in your videos lol ... Good stuff...I need to ride the Alps once in my life
Hahaha! Its funny cos it's true!! :D Cheers Davy!
Loving this return to summer touring mate, stunning views and awesome roads.
Thanks Peter! It was an utter breath of fresh air to be back on the road!
As I stay in my bedroom on the 5th day of isolation with COVID (hopefully with the new and improved 2023 upgrade as I've already had the 2022 variant) these videos are keeping me sane. Thanks! 👍👍👍
Covid 23, the reunion! Hope you’re feeling alright and I’m very happy to provide whatever distraction i can from the boredom! Don’t forget the REALLY early tour series‘s‘s‘s, if nothing else, they make the newer ones look way better!! 😜
Simply Stunning 😍
Thanks mate! What I wouldn't give to go back again tomorrow!
Epic! Loved it 🥰
Thank you!! 😁
Love your touring videos, can’t get enough 👍👏😎
Cheers Ant. Luckily i can’t get enough of touring, so i think we can work together! 😜
Brilliant as always AMC, stunning views and such a pleasure to watch, thank you.
Cheers Stephen. The views really do make it hard to make anything bad out of it! 😁
Hey Andy,
Never let it be said that your content isn’t spectacular 👍🎥.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…your editing skills are par excellence…10/10. To balance footage from multiple cameras that seamlessly take the viewer on a journey as if we were there with you is to be applauded 👏.
You’re making my heart yearn for travel and making memories but while the travel restrictions (in Australia) persist I’ll just have to live out my desires through your lens.
Thanks once more for all your efforts to bring your channel to life. I for one appreciate all your dedication that is behind the scenes 👍😀🏍.
Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺.
Cheers Peter. Means a lot to hear that mate. Makes it all more than worthwhile!
Brilliant job once again Andy 👌👏👏👏
Cheers very much Tony!
What a beautiful video 👍👍what a wonderful way to spend a few days .
Thank you kindly Will. It really was the BEST way to spend some time! If only I could spend ALL of the time like this!
At the 10:25 mark you said it was like riding in a fridge, however you had open sleeves and chest pockets in your jacket... that was funny!
Bit of a 'serves you right' situation then! I was optimisticly expecting it to suddenly get warmer again! Too lazy to close the vents more like!
Breath taking wow , give us more :) Cheers Andy
Truly stunning place. You have to see it in real life to really believe it! More on the way!
more great camera work Andy. great to share your travels. thanks
Cheers David! Hope there'll be some more to share real soon!
Stunning videos you got there! I drove there last year and you completely took me back in my mind, so delightful!
Many thanks Alex! It's an unforgettable area, isn't it!
Hi Andy, hope you are well . The roads look amazing and you are having amazing time and look to have more , how are things in Germany were you are hope you were not to badly affected by the bad weather and you did not suffer to much all the best for you and your family take and look after your self and family and good riding
I was having the time of my life, and it just kept getting better! Thankfully we were unscathed up here in the North. More than i can say for those further south. Awful goings on.
Stunning
Cheers Ryan.
Wow, wow and wow! Thank you for sharing and letting us travel with you! Really impressed with the 360, looks fantastic and dam good job! 👍👍
Thanks Quinn! I'm impressed too. Seems to fit in quite well and the quality and effect is far better than I expected.
Great video. Brought back chilly, terrifying memories of being up there in late August a few years ago. Wanged around a bend quite enthusiastically to find two dozen goats in the middle of the road directly after the corner. Once my lower, lower, lower intestines recovered from that a few km later, I found myself quite unexpectedly on a dirt road after exiting a tunnel leaned over. An overpriced espresso in the cafe at the top restored my nerve for the icy ride back down. Looking back I'm sorry I didn't explore the museum at the top a bit more before the bloody thing burned down. Good times. Can't wait for the next video. They're firing me up nicely for the trip I've got planned to the Pyrenees next month.
That does sound QUITE terrifying! Glad you lived to tell the tale! Thankfully this was a little different, but I had honestly expected it to be a little more like your ride! :D
Great work Andy makes me wanna be there so much love that area looking forward to seeing your next one already bud 🏍🏍🎉🎉
Cheers Dale! More incoming!
Superb as ever, stunning scenery - quality filming, overall bloody good ! You lucky ba*t**d 😂 Thanks !
Many thanks LP! Glad you enjoyed it!
I've driven through The Alps a few times, the scenery never disappoints. Really enjoyed the vid, cheers.
Cheers Tim. Same here. Never ceases to be breathtakingly amazing.
Absolutely beautiful video work. Very well filmed and edited. You know you craft well my friend. Thank you for the entertainment and inspiration to get out there and enjoy life. 🙏
Many thanks indeed Rocket. I did enjoy putting this one together more than most, so hopefully that shows! 😁
Stunning👍
Agreed! Utterly amazing neighbourhood!
Brilliant 🎥 Thank you 🙏
Thank YOU! :D
Fantastic Andy, maybe next year. Off to Wales next weekend for a much milder version, be fun though😀
Finger crossed mate. I hope Wales was a belter nonetheless!
Good video again AMC! 👍
Thanks very much mate!
The new music, early in the clip was, to my ears, ideal.
Thanks for bringing us stunning scenery and witty commentary, Andy
Thank you so much! Glad it worked for you. i sometimes spend more time searching for music than cutting the video! :D
loving the soundtracks above all else
Thanks Anghad! SOmetimes the music selection takes longer than the video edit! :D
Superb Andy 👍🍺
Cheers Paul!
Hele mooie pass...kan niet wachten om er weer te rijden👍😉
You’ll enjoy it very much, I’m sure!
We rode it a few years back, thick fog & frankly terrifying. Returned two days later to bright sunshine & it was epic. Cracking video 👍😎 want to go back 😂
Yeah i can imagine that in different weather, it could be a very different beast! Glad you got to do a redo though!
Shame about the museum, I missed it on my trip due to time pressure. Great vid 😙👌
I’ve never been. If they rebuild, maybe next time.
Thanks mate, great seeing you back in action! What a wonderfull couple of videos! The scenery is amazing… I hope to see this myself one day. Cheers.
It was great to BE back in action! Truly a salve for an old itch! I truly hope you can see it. These videos just don't give you the full awe of the place.
@@AndyManCam thanks mate, so do I but for now, I truly look forward to living vicariously through your camera lens and utter enjoyment of what you are doing! Thanks again mate, and keep them coming. Great stuff.
Well in that case, I shall forego sleep tonight and get the next episode finished instead! 😉
@@AndyManCam haha, sacrifices for the greater good mate!…
It’s how i win. Hopefully!! 😆
A good 'un Andy. Fab riding!
Cheers very much Alan!
After spending the day riding in 30C, I was dreaming of alpine snowfields. Regardless of the temp, that scenery is spectacular. So many great views, you'll just have to go back!
The other side was absolutely redders, so I was feeling the same! Luckily the trusty newfound love of textiles meant I was ready for the cold this time!! :D
Very cool video. Love the music at the end. I always have a great time riding my Rebel 1100cc on the Jersey shore and listen Jesse Cook in my helmet.
Thanks very much Andre! Sometimes the music makes the ride!
Great 2nd video in the series
Thanks! Plenty more to come!
Seeing this video for the first time. Timmelsjoch was and is one of my favorit mountain passes. Sadly the museum on the top of the mountain burnt down. It is being rebuilt, but more than 100 unique motorcycles, all of them the only existing examples, are gone forever.
That is a real shame. I hope they can refill it with just as many specimens.
Good shit mate... 😎 Just bought me the 2021 BE cb1000r. Loving it. My dream bike.
Thanks Travis! Enjoy the new machine but take VERY good care of that fragile Paint!
Wow, stunning footage! It must take you an age to setup all the cameras then capture and edit it all. It’s certainly appreciated though and the insta360 view as you go around the hairpins is 👌🏻Bravo sir, Bravo 😁👍
Haha! You'Re not wrong Pete! 20 minutes of faff for 5 minutes of riding, followed by 25 hours of editing! :D
Thanks yet again, brilliant quality video, amazingly funny commentary, laughed my arse off again. Hookers and cocain. 😂..
Thanks a lot Lee! My pleasure entirely mate!
'll be honest I only heard about you following your appearance on the bru time podcast. I really enjoyed it and found both you and TLR to be great guests so much so I immediately came to your channels and subbed to both and I will enjoy watching any of your new content and going through the older videos as well. Keep up the good work
Well then thank you very much for making the jump across and I hope you continue to enjoy the vids for a long time to come! Cheers to Bruce too! :D
Absolutle stonka of a pass.done the Stelvio myself but still b watching and wishing it was me.look forward to the nxt one.🤜🤛🏍🇬🇧
It was really enjoyable! Not as long as others, but what there was was fantastic! Apparently it never really gets as busy as the others either. Not sure if that's true though! Stelvio is on the way...
Been to the Alps in 2019, sure do miss that place! Umbrailpass was a good one!
Even after having been there last month, it's still too long ago! Umbrail was very enjoyable indeed. Even more so because it was completely empty!
Nice ride, jealous.
Cheers mate! I’m afraid that could get worse as the trip continues to unfold!
Keep on saying: we need this stuff to get us through the winter ...
Great vid Andy, what is it with these barstules, who give people a thumbs down , if only they new the effort involved in compiling and sitting for hrs editing etc ,, thumbs up from me , every time , ride safe buddy cheers shaneweightman
Thanks Shane! I just ignore them mate. If they bothered to click anything, that means youtube registers their interest! Can't possibly hurt!
What an adventure 😜
Absolutely! A long overdue and sorely needed one at that!
Wow couldn't ask for better conditions than that, not much traffic, no storms.
It was utterly perfect. I've never known riding like it and I don'T think I will again. But then, given the circumstances, that's OK by me.
Wow, that's what I call curve training, now you can definitely turn your head 360 degrees😁🤣👍
Haha! Using the tech to my advantage! ;P
Wow Andy - one of your best video's mate. The scenery, commentary, camera shots, made for a really good watch. Did you write that music at the end? I spent time in the Ziller valley skiing quite a few years ago, Must get back there again to ride next time! For now yourve inspired me to tour a bit so I'll start with the Southern Alps of NewZealand (Live two days ride away). Cheers again.
Thanks very much Ross! Yeah the bit at the end is one of mine. The southern Alps of NZ sounds like a great place to start! Enjoy mate!
Andy, you lucky, LUCKY ManCam!!!!! Awesome stuff but Timmelsjoch, Umbrail and Stevlio all in one day... that's just greedy!!!! ;) :p :D
Greedy is my middle name!
Kleine Deutsch-Stunde für Dich: tolles Video, geiles Motorrad und eine wunderschöne Gegend! Bitte weiter so! Ich liebe Deine Videos.
Grüße von (ebenfalls) Andy aus (ebenfalls) Hamburg 🙂
Herzlichen Dank Andy! Werde ich auf jeden Fall versuchen! Muss nur so schnell wie möglich wieder Richtung Bergen fahren!
Nice one 👍
Thanks very much Eddie. Quick on the uptake there! 😉
very much enjoyed this one Andy, cheers. Looking at electric bikes atm and with lvl 2 and the Zero you can't do trips like that, the Energica has lvl 4 and gets 200 km in 30 min but is effing expensive. Also looking forward to getting out of the flat more with my first jab tomorrow!
Happy memories, we have done the Timmeljoch 4 times, never seen quite as much snow as you 👍😎
My timing was perfect! I was really hoping that there would still be lots laying around. I’ll be lucky to repeat those circumstances again, i think!
Looking forward to the rest of the series 🤔👍
Hopefully I’ll be able to throw them together as the last two!
Absolutely fantastic again. Quite a contrast to fenland Peterborough.
Haha! It certainly is a little different! Cheers John!
Amazing 👍🏍
Super video Andy, slightly disconcerting view from the 360 cam when you enter the hairpins as it gives the impression that you’ve left the braking a bit late… eek! Stunning scenery though, have to add to the bucket list for a trip on my V7 at some point when Its easier to travel from Blighty. Keep up the good work and thanks for posting!
Hope you've not been affected by the floods .stay safe buddy.👍
No, we’re all good thanks Steve.
Great to see our Patreon subs being put to great use… Also let me know when there IS a level that does include Hoookers and Coke…asking for a friend..honest. 😂😎
It's the only thing they should ever be used for! Content fuel! A hearty thanks again! I'll keep you posted on the extra level 😜
First of all, you make awsome and fun videos. ❤ I know a bit late, but you mentioned the name Untergurgl. The little town you pass through before you bent left to the Timmelsjoch used to be named Untergurgl, they changed it to Obergurgl some years ago.😊 . Amazing pass the Timmelsjoch .The italian side was an awfull road 40 years ago, but now better than austria side in my opinion. I drove the pass in the first week of juni this year on my Tiger 800. Was a blast.
Thank you very much Erik! Timmelsjoch was great fun. Hope to see it again some time!
Never feel pressured mate, making content for us should be secondary to you enjoying riding! :-)
Nice to hear a that's what she said moment there too! :D
Cor, I bet you hated them views... must have been a chore :D
I know it should be too! Damned OCD won't let me go though ;D TBH I was more relaxed than ever on this trip. I've never really even stopped to take photos before! What a revelation! The views were a bit wearing though. Snore-on!
@@AndyManCam hardly worth the effort of taking pics! 😁
@@HippoDrones true. I’d have been better off taking pictures of the tiles in the bathroom.
@@AndyManCam be far nicer to look at 🤣
😂🤣🤣
Great video, compliments!
I am glad to see that more bikers are crazy to go for a few days to the Alps 😉 when they do not live close by 🤣
I from Amsterdam and also go for a few days to Austria. After a night in Goldbach I’ll go via Grossklockner Alpine road to Heiligenblut for 2 days and than via Italy and the Timmelsjoch to Obergurgl. Next day 950km (boring) Autobahn back to Amsterdam on adaptive cruise control 😉
Quality as usual Andy! Tempting to do this same route, just hoping all records for the fine I forgot to pay a few years ago in Italy for those stupid rules you mention have vanished!
Many thanks mate! Oh dear, have you got a different bike now? Maybe it's time for a personalised number plate!? 🤣
@@AndyManCam I like your thinking old bean
Superb
Thank you! Cheers!
God that made me feel good and even better as I own one of those fantastic cb1000r 😀😀😀
I’m always happy to help with the mood! It is a great bike in the Mountains!
That 360 cam is real good...
I'm really impressed too. Only just really starting to find out what it's capable of! Great bit of kit!
Hi Andy, great video, I really enjoyed it, apologies if I missed this in the comments or the video but what time of year was that? Thanks - take care
Thanks very much! No trouble, it was in the middle of June. All bets are off as whether the conditions will ever be the same. Strange times.
Yes andy WOW is a very good word for it
Cheers Steve. It was VERY wow down there! I need more!
Great video, thanks Andy. How many nutters on push bikes? They must be freezing their titalage off in their shorts and t-shirts, perhaps not going up, but defo on the way down!
Thanks Stuart. Way more than I expected! Those guys are machines!
I don't know Andy, if you weren't such a nice guy I could hate you! Is booking a low traffic run down the pass expensive? I so fondly remember those cold, dark, wet tunnels and happy to see the road surface hasn't improved! ;-)
I can understand that Steve! Booking the empty pass package is a bit pricey, but worth every one of the millions! ;D
