I'm not an electronics person 😂i got my 35 year old Nintendo finally hooked up with av cables (both ends have red, white, yellow) and input set to video 2. It took me forever. I'm clueless about inputs/sources. Thank you. This was my 5th video i watched trying to learn how to hook up my old nes. I kept getting "no signal" cuz i didn't have the right source i guess? It looks amazing on such a huge tv. The muscle memory kicked in after 5 minutes and i was flying thru stage 1.😂 I even remembered some of the maneuvers taking that turtle and throwing it and going down certain pipes!! I'm 56 years old!! Lol How can my brain still retain that hand/ button action from when i was 21!!!! 😂 I'm not a regular video game player except with my husband every now and then. 🎉 I'm so happy.
Try using the red and white cables. Still red-to-red (in both). But, put the white one in the NES, and the white one in the far-hand side of the adapter (even though it’s colored for yellow). Also, be sure you’re getting power to the adapter (from the adapter to a USB port…the adapter will heat up a little). It worked for me. Best of luck to you!!
The adapter your using transfers the audio and video to a hi definition multimedia interface. It allow it to be that way . I'm sure you select the imput to play on. It make it modern so you can play on a new TV. I know alot about games and electronics
Just not a lot about English or how to write. I'm just kidding. Somebody just got me for using 2 and not too and gr8 for great. I was like, wtf? Does it matter? There are so many word cops but none have heard of short hand and long hand. They think the court recorder types every word out as fast as ppl say them. No, they used short hand. I'm sure they use a computer bs that can get all words faster than we say. Anywho, have a good week.
Hey! I got everything set up and if i use the HDMI input then i get "AV NTSC". If i use an RC adapter and input, then i get "AV PAL" any ways around this? Thanks!
I recently just got an NES and just had my adapter shipped in got my adapter all hooked up and Nintendo plugged in and ready to go but when I switch to the input I get no video or audio Nintendo is powered on and the tv recognizes the input this Nintendo has been recently refurbished as well are the av ports shot?
I did all that & the power didn't come on. My upscaler is switched to PAL. My power source is an acdc/ usb surge protector outlet. Do I need the original power cord plugged in too?
I would assume you'll need to clean out your game? On an official level I can't suggest blowing into the cartridge and moving the game around in the system to make it work like we all used to do when all of us were kids.... however, unofficially.... do that lol. Actually if you have rubbing alcohol that's at least 75 percent and a q-tip, you can clean off the contact in the game and then it should work much better 😀😀
I had this exact same setup at the house and it's not working. TV is new, OLED 4K. It's not even registering the device that's how I was able to figure was that it was because of the 4K TV but 1080p has the option on the upscaler. Is there a way around this?
You need two sets of RC Cables?? I don't understand... The other end of the cables in the adapter goes into the NES, like any other console... But why the need for the AV cables in the NES itself? And where does the other side of them go?
I came out on this video because I have an unclear screen (horizontal lines) and you use the exact same converter as I ordered. So for me it doesn't work. I used 4 different HDMI cables on 4 different HDMI ports on the TV, I used 3 different RCA cables but nothing solved the issue. Are there any other ways to connect it to the tv?
Forgot to mension: on my 10y old LED tv (now defective) I could connect it straight trough an av connection, but on the new 4K TV, the av connection doesn't see any signal and the hdmi view is unclear
Just pulled out the old NES, bought an adapter. Power light comes on. All hooked up with HDMI, RC cables & I just get a grey screen. Tried both screen settings on the new adaptor box. Any suggestions?
Gray screen generally means the system is working but the cartridge or system is dirty. Take some rubbing alcohol on a q tip (must be st least 75 percent rubbing alcohol.... I use 99 percent myself) and clean the contact inside the game. This should help. Also, I have to state publicly that apparently blowing in the games doesn't actually work, even though it's been working for all of us for the last 35+ years lol
He didn't explain why that box RF switch doesn't work anymore. That switch box on the NES is a modulator device. This modulator creates a analog signal channel 3 and 4. Yes analog Tv is completely dead but new TV's still have that antenna air option. I would assume the Nintendo would needed to be turned on first, then you would scan antenna only "if tho it doesn't exist". But the modulator itself is creating analog. I don't see why he says that RF modulator doesn't work.
How about a how to upgrade a nice HP DV7 Entertainment PC with the capability to run newer windows? Can't seem to find that. Those HP PC from 2014 was high tech for the time and aren't too far behind today with bigger Ram and newer Hard drive. I think. Idk I'm not a PC guy.

great video! I really love that you're trying out a new type of content, it'll be great for the channel

I hooked everything up correctly and just get a grey screen with wavy lines

Are the games in the correct aspect ratio, or do they look stretched?
Why does my TV not recognize it? It says no signal. I tried everything, what can be the problem
I have exactly the same problem 😑

He also has a really cool discord with lots of nice people you gotta be 13 or above it's family friendly and no swearing
What about the plug in from back to wall do I need that without mine won't come on and with it my console blinks red and TV is blue blinks AV SV
Great video! 😃
Thanks so much!!
I'm with Theman360, this is a great video
But what channel or input do I select on the tv?
Have a good day mate
How did you handle the input lag? Makes playing a lot of games harder when the input isnt syncing up
Honestly? There just hasn't been any

Try cleaning the contacts

Thank you! I got all the stuff and hooked it up and I have sound but just a blue screen :( any ideas on what could be wrong?
Hmmmm.... change the channel on the vcr or the Atari so they match up? That should fix it 😀
Bought the stuff. Followed the directions, hooking it up to a Samsung TV. But I only get a white screen. 😢
I just get a blue screen and a buzzing. At first, on and off buzzing
I put the same cables back onto the old tv and all worked
So it’s not my cables
Hey, Razz! I actually may have an nes somewhere.
Nice!!
Bought the same equipment and all i get is a salmon colored screen.
Any suggestions?

@@TheRazZPlayYeah i just ordered alcohol to clean it out. Blowing both the cartridge and into the system worked wonders back in the day :)
Same problem here. Tried everything. Using an LG Nanocell TV.
How does this work with the version of NES that doesn’t have the yellow and red input?
Then I'd say check out my "how tp hook up an atari" video and it'd be very similar to that 😀😀
What am I doing wrong? Everything is plugged in like you said. I get a white screen and small message: AV NTSC
Same bro
it’s something to do with region differences between your tv and your nes and/or the rca hdmi adapter you’re using
Get some rubbing alcohol and some Q-tips and clean inside the games. That should clear it up for you.

1 set is needed, one side goes into the NES and the other end goes into the converter
Have you tried duck hunt with this? I heard duck hunt won’t work unless it’s an analog tv
Correct. Light guns only work with CRT televisions
Are you doing more rumbleverse
Not sure. It all depends on what folks want me to play 😀😀 it was fun though
Makes sense
i didn't know they removed component from mordern tvs
Sadly they did... Sucks for my PS2. But you can get a Component to HDMI converter.
