Win in Violence

- The old toolbox analogy is great, but we aren't building a house or turning wrenches on the lawnmower.
We must have a clear picture of what we want and how we can get it.
If we truly want to live a long and full life, our actions should support that.
Define that goal and what it looks like.
1. Know thyself and what sets you off. Practice self control. Choose kind words when you can.
2. Be fit, stay fit.
3. Know how to fight.
4. Have the tools and know how to use them.
5. Know the law.
6. Make good choices.

Great message I think a person who makes you mad now controls you and I choose to not be controlled Keep emotions and ego in check Thank you
Man, that's deep. Can I use it?
I carry a Glock, a Spyderco, and a pepper spray. And if the hammer drops, as forest Gump once said." I was running".
@@MrTillerman22 more then welcome to
I was a peace officer for three decades. Raised in a family of lawmen. Father, uncle, grandfather and his brother were all police officers or deputy sheriff's, beginning in 1890. They all had a part in teaching me. After I left the army, I began serving my community. And every family member told me to use my head. Evaluate the situation. Keep a distance if possible. Take nothing said as personal. And though I was under no obligation to retreat, I was obligated to resolve the situation. Sure, I was involved in three shootings over the years, but I never initiated them. I was defending myself, and even took a 38 in the gut in a shooting. However, other than that, I always tried to defuse things by talking calmly, and rationally. Never raising my voice, and never making a threat. And I arrested most all the offenders without a struggle. Why? Simple, I learned from my elder's wisdom in dealing with people. Most people are verbal. They really don't want to be hurt in a physical fight. Once they realize that you're still calmly talking them down from escalation to being reasonable, they often wake up. Now if they move to hurt you, absolutely take em down hard and fast. But I always gave them a chance to calm themselves down with reason.
Today, now long since retired, I still carry a weapon. On occasion, I'll bump into someone with an attitude. Usually a youngster trying to act tough, picking on someone smaller or elderly. Then we'll have "the talk". 😏
Well said sir. Thanks for sharing.
It is not the violence that sets men apart, alright, it is the distance that he is prepared to go - Forrest Bondurant
Indeed
That movie is in my top 5.
@soundcitysolutions7185 the truth is even better than the movie.
I’ve followed a similar philosophy for years and I’m 70. This was refreshing to find I’m not alone. Thanks
Fight if you must, but understand what must is.
Pom is part of my EDC. It's good to have more options when life throws crap at us.
Yeah, me too.
haha thought it said porn, 😂
Wisdom is knowing when being kind is more important than being right
Musashi says to always stay even keeled in everything always, don't be over enthused or under motivated, you can't think fast irritated, stressed out you can't find your keys, but calm down their right there , stay even always, don't allow anything to disrupt the ship
lmao in the first 20 seconds. bravo.
"Tools" as you clearly articulate include more than tangibles---words, escape strategies, spiritual fitness, etc are all included.
De-escalation is real
Lot of wisdom in this one. Great to see someone lot younger then me but thinks the same way. Continue on with this style videos young Mickey.
Respect and honor to you sir

"You will 100% win a fight that you're not in" No, I did not come up with that one, got it from someone else. I agree, sometimes you need to be the bigger person and just walk away...
I really enjoy the mental training content💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
We all must work on these areas

Spot on
All great points! Good subject matter as well, thank you.
There are many things to think about with pepper spray…Just a couple: NEVER warn someone with pepper spray. Be justified to spray it before presenting. Otherwise they may hide their face enough to make it ineffective and use your presenting it as their justification for self defense, which could be whatever they have (firearm?)
Also, be aware that if you spray someone, you’ve probably lost your firearm option from a self defense standpoint. I said probably, not definitely. But your lawyer may have a very difficult time defending your lethal use of force against someone who will likely claim they were effectively sprayed and defenseless, especially if there’s no (good) video of the attack. Which brings me to my next idea…
I’m surprised that nobody brings this up, but I’m exploring the option of a small body cam for any confrontation use of force documentation. I think it could keep the wearer more calm but also may deter non/potentially violent encounters from escalating. If it doesn’t work out that way, it would be very valuable to justify your actions (assuming those actions were reasonable). They work for police quite often, even when the encounter isn’t violent.
Just something I felt like sharing from my research, experience and training.
Now here’s Tom with the weather…
great video
It sucks to get sprayed ,Trust Me, and I was just at a Friendly Disco Fight 1970's Style! People Stab and Shoot these days,They dont play Nice. You don't want to fight Anybody, just try to walk away!
Good video!

The personal practices you are referring to need to be exercised everyday just like physical exercise. Be congenial to everyone, everyday. Build that brain memory to automatically respond with self control and politeness.
Amen
I encourage everyone in my family to carry pepper spray. But make sure you test and practice with the spray. I've bought some and they were empty out of the box
Buy good stuff
Unfortunately it was Mace brand, I've never seen a video on testing different brands, but I've found that the bigger the can the better.
This all explains why I am confident I am someone who is capable of carrying a gun. I have no ego. I want to go home at the end of the day and I want others to go home too. I explained to my fiancée when we first started dating that I will always protect her, I will never let anything physically harm her, but there may come a time where I have to let someone disrespect us with words and we walk away. Would I enjoy hearing something of those sorts then having to bite my tongue and walk away? Of course not. Would she like having to hear that? Of course not, but we’re going home together without injuries, no deaths, no jail, no investigation impeding our lives etc.
We both carry POM on retractable badge retrievers so it’s always where we need it and it can’t be dropped and I am the main defender so in the event of major tragedy- I have a gun only to be used if that’s what’s required to make sure we get to go home. For that, I will risk injury, jail, investigation etc if it means we’re alive.
If you can’t make that sacrifice and decision then you shouldn’t carry any lethal force tool.
Good stuff
Knowing when to Shut Up 👍
Verbal judo
The art of non conflict.
Daniel Penny thought it was cool too.
its more about when you have 2 3 maybe more thing at once fing with you, then that guy pisses you of and then hulk nothing you can do but RAGE 👊🏻
Leave it to Jesus
You think a gun is a catch all because you “love” a gun. How about you change the culture? You don’t love a wrench? How about this, what does the old lady say about you loving an inanimate object? Be respectful and responsible with a privilege not a right.
You must not have listened to the whole video
Huh? Where was that in the video?
In the United States of America the right to bear arms is in fact, a right, not a privilege.
Ill assume you are not a US citizen
@@CitizenTrainingConceptsLLC It is a birthright for everyone in the world and it is not for a government to grant or revoke. The United States, however, uniquely put it in the Bill of RIghts to prevent the government from trying to take something that they have no authority over.
