Three comments. Switching left and right side demos work great for me for emulating in front of mirror thank you. Excellent explanation of mag manipulation, do you have a video for pistol mag changes? Lastly, do you have rifle work/drills for upland style stock carbines (M14). Thanks again sir

I've been so disappointed in some of the so called professionals that are teaching garbage and I mean garbage for a buck to whomever will pay for their nonsense. You're a breath of fresh air knowing that there are guys out here that are true professionals. I joined the Marines in 82. I wanted to be a grunt. The Marine Corps didn't cheat me. I was honored to be able to serve and then make it a profession. I was able to serve in every billet within the infantry community from rifleman to fireteam leader, squad leader, platoon Sergeant to Company Gunny to Company 1st Sergeant to Bn SgtMaj and train Marines and lead Marines in both Garrison and Combat. Not grandstanding no sir just explaining that I did my time and the Corps was my life. I'm comforted knowing that guys like you would have made outstanding Marines! Keep doing what you're doing because God knows there are some shitheads out there posing as so called duty experts that don't have the foggiest idea of how to establish a course of instruction that is tested and forged in actual programs of instruction that pass the smell test and not something that some dude saw from a dude from another dude that saw John Wick or a Team Six or Delta dude do something that looked cool with no idea as to what they are teaching. Your methods of instruction would pass any Marine Corps crawl, walk, run methodology of training and like I said it's absolutely refreshing to see you take this shit seriously with professionalism and dedication and a sense of humor that doesn't destroy one's confidence but an understanding that bad techniques and bad training habits will indeed get people hurt or killed if they don't train to a STANDARD. There's nothing basic about combat and bringing violence of action to the fight. However doing the basics at an extremely high level consistently and with confidence is what wins on the battlefield. @@declineofthewest. there’s no courses set for IL I think. I presume that it’s because of the Protect Illinois Communities Act that went into effect Jan 2024. I hope that the ban is struck down soon by the SCOTUS. 🙏🏼
I have one of those love /hate relationships with my slings. I finally simply duct taped the dang thing at a reasonable length, and attached it to the adjustable stock. I use the stock adjustment to adjust my sling as needed. Weird, I know.
I have a RUGER PC carbine 9mm, as you probably know this has a round safety by the trigger, would you have the individual do anything different when it comes to engaging the safety , would you recommend anything..? These safeties are not very visible for most people.
@@CarryTrainer not at all. It’s more of; how do ai show the person/persons beside or the trainer, that it’s on as it’s not as visible as a regular AR style safety.
@@In_con_ceivable Some non-ambidextrous AR safeties are difficult to verify from the right. Adding a highlight with a paint pen helps. Perhaps you can remove your cross-bolt safety button & paint a white/yellow/green ring around the sides that only appears when safe.
Let me start by saying, I am an 8-year Army Infantry combat veteran. I have 4 years of law enforcement experience before my knee died on me. I have been through hundreds of training hours, hell maybe thousands, on both the rifle and pistol. But I still always wonder, what is the difference between a rifle with a safety and a pistol that has no safety. Why is the rifle with a safety so much more prone to going off, than a pistol with no safety? I ask that because putting the safety on a rifle is sooooo important, yet we carry a pistol with no safety, and it's no big deal. Just things that make you go hmmmm....
A pistol has 4-6 lbs trigger and with a longer travel, a rifle is about 3 lbs, many with almost no travel (it's basically resting on the wall, already). Just a slight twitch of the finger is needed to fire some rifles. Some semi-auto handguns have their strikers like Glock at half-cock only. Half-cock striker doesn't have enough force to ignite the primer if something fails. Rifle has its hammer at full-cock when loaded. Most handguns have a hammer block safety (meaning, there's a physical barrier that blocks the firing pin contacting the cartridge - which moves out of the way only when trigger is pulled). Most rifles and shotguns don't have hammer block safety. Rifles can go off when dropped. When a particular country wanted an AR-15 with a hammer block safety, H&K made a special model for them. Also, because a rifle is carried with sling and longer to manuever around the body, the trigger can get caught with clothing, mag carriers, vests, etc. A pistol has a holster to protect the trigger.
I don't believe one is more prone to going off, but I do think there are a few things worth noting. 1. We train to a standard that we hope to achieve should we have the need to use these skills in violence. As such we all have a pretty good understanding of how we as individuals deal with massive stress. Stress doesn't make humans rise, it crushes most. Let's train to a high standar, knowing that things can go wrong, in and out of our control. That safety is a redundancy when stuff is sideways. 2. A handgun usually lives in a holster when not in use, whereas a long gun of any kind is either in our hands or slung. 3. Not hard and fast- the potential damage from, say, a 12ga or a rifle is many times higher than a pistol caliber. This shouldn't cause us to be more or less safe with any firearm, but it's worth noting. 4. Trigger mechanisms in many pistol types are more forgiving than many rifle triggers. This could be a deep rabbit hole. 5.Because it's a good idea
Agree with Mick on point 2 especially. That long gun is dangling out in front of you, not in a holster. Also, it’s on your AR by default..not your Glock. Why not learn to use it appropriately?

Go to the class "nearby". Michigan or Ohio are not a far drive. If you want it bad enough, you'll find a way.
