2011 Lexus GX460 Review | They Get Better With Age

  • So I reviewed the 2011 Lexus GX460 and I must say, they age incredibly well. This 2011 Lexus GX460 with 132,000 miles drives like I just pulled it off of the showroom floor. This sensation older Lexus cars have is profound. Not many cars age this well, and let me know if you found value with this review.

    Just bought a 2013 Lexus gx460 used. Test drive sold me. What a solid, quiet ride! I preferred it over a brand new 2020 Honda Pilot. Thanks for your review. It's never easy buying a car. The one we bought had 80,000 miles on it. I know we can a few more years out of it!

    These are rock solid vehicles for sure, my buddy has one....it's fun off road, and he's had literally zero repairs over the 100,000 miles he's owned it. His seats are cracking like this one though, my suggestion is Lexol leather cleaner, followed by the conditioner, every couple months. My LS is 4 years old, but the leather is still basically brand new. My leather is "flaxen" colored, so that may have something to do with it, the lighter colored seats dont seem to age as well.
    Anyways, awesome review as always!

    The GX460 is known as the Land Cruiser Prado or Land Cruiser outside of America, depends on which country. Most people in America call it a rebadged or the Lexus version of the 4runner, which it's not, the 4runner doesn't have the barn door like the GX460. The premium would have air suspension toggles next the the shifter, or above the high and low 4 toggle, along with TVs behind the driver and front passenger headrest.

    • @gabell210
      @gabell210 4 роки тому +1

      In 2010-13 there were only 2 main trims for the GX460. Base and Premium. This is a base because the trim on the rear side window doesn't go up the window...only along the bottom. Also it doesn't have front headlight sprayers. This also means it won't have the air bags on the rear suspension, rear overhead air vents or the rear heated seats. It IS however a great starting point to build an offroad/overland vehicle because it is more basic. Besides those details..great review. Also..I own a '13 premium and have owned a'12 4runner....there is more headroom in the GX for a 6'2" person in the driver seat.

    Want to trade the LS for this..when i have some money 😕. Its actually based on the Land cruiser Prado, sold in middle eastern, african and euro markets and australia. The Prado comes with 2.7 liter inline 4 vvti engine, the 4runners 4.0 V6 & this Lexus’ 4.6 v8. They’re built to tackle the bad roads in the countries they’re sold in.

    I bought the used 2019 GX with 40k miles 6 months ago. It felt the road noise while driving and it wasn’t that smooth either. The soft seats isn’t that durable, it already had some cracks on driver’s side due to getting in and out. I don’t take this thing off road and it’s not suitable for daily drive because horrible gas mileage. It’s not worth it for the price imo! Any other Japanese cars are reliable. Btw this one still has very old technology. Now that the car industry going for hybrid and EV due to emission regulations and pollution environment. I think I make the mistake, don’t think want to keep it that long. Oh three is something I need to mention the sunroof didn’t open all the way with one touch. You have to push it again. I took it to Lexus dealer and they showed me the other GX did same thing and they said all of GX are like that? Nobody mentioned about this. I don’t know if the newer one fixed this problem!

    For the few individuals who are not familiar with this vehicle you should show all the major features of the SUV. Intentionally not demonstrating the operation of the third row seating and it's functionality is a major bust for this video.

    Looking at a 2010 for my wife but 150k miles for $18k. Not sure if that's because of covid. Alot of prices are higher than before covid. Hard pill to swallow, lot of money for the miles but I know these last forever.

    • @Diff727
      @Diff727 3 роки тому

      Did you end up getting it? I feel the same way about the miles and the pricing of these but everybody says they last forever. I’m selling my car soon so I’ll have about $20k to get something else. I just have to decide if I want something newer and have a car payment again or get something with at least 100k miles and no car payment. The idea of a car payment sucks by my car also only has 36k miles so going to something with 100k miles kinda sucks too.

      @@MeynMotorGroup yeah the unfortunate thing for me is we have one Lexus dealership within reasonable distance of where I live and it is a great dealership, but I'm not the kind of person to ask to drive a car I know I'm not going to buy because that's someone else's car that they just don't own yet. Hahahahaha yup that’s exactly how I feel that’s why I don’t really like doing new car reviews at dealerships. I don’t mind driving used cars tho at dealerships as they already have the miles on them so it doesn’t matter. But I try to keep the miles to a minimum regardless

    My what an outstanding vehicle! I'm impressed with that Lexus that's for sure! Listen, traded in my 2017 Mazda6 for a 2016 Subaru WRX, kept that for about 6 weeks but got tired of the manual so I traded her in for a 2013 Acura RDX & man o man is it awesome!! Got it for $19, 800 with 74, 000 miles in mint condition. As a matter of fact the tech told my salesman while he was balancing the wheels that he wanted to get my Acura for his mom! I saw one online in an adjacent city for $18, 400 with 70,000 miles but it was black & mine is champane silver which I like better because it's easier to maintain.( Trying to make myself feel better i guess)! Liking the new 2019's but it has a 2.0 turbo & mine has the 6- 3.5 engine that really hauls ass! I would like to get the 2019 but I guess I'll have to wait until it's 6 yrs old like this one that I just bought. That's the way it is with us poor folks, but for now it's ALL GOOD!!! Keep up the good work!!

      Hey Greg thanks for stopping by, yea the V6 RDX really does get up and move it is not to be underestimated haha. I haven’t driven the new one but I have heard amazing things about the 2019 RDX and apparently it’s faster but I really like that V6 legitimately fast. Enjoy the ride man and yea we gotta wait for big depreciation to hit lol no worries tho great car 👍

      I thought it's recommended, not required. Think about it, premium gas maybe recommended for lexus lx 570 (383hp)? But toyota tundra (381hp) has the same engine v8 5.7L. And nobody is putting premium gas in tundra.. Fourt generation 4runners had an optional the same v8 4.7L engine like 2003-2009 lexus gx 4.7L. I don't think anybody was putting premium in v8 4runner?:) those are toyota's engines.
