@@TheShootersBay My oldest girl is going to school about a 45 minute drive from where he moved. I'm wondering about him fixing something during a visit! I have a Tundra that needs a few things upgraded.

Traded my 2013 tacoma for a 2013 GX460 with 94k miles back in NOV 2020. Loving my GX. paid 22k for it. I was looking for a 4 runner but the GX is a luxury 4runner...sold as the Landcruiser Prado overseas.
My father bought a brand new GX in 2014, i think it was around $60K before taxes (Canadian dollars). He was going to trade it in for a different car, but his GX only had 50,000KM and they wanted to give him only $30K for it....it was in such a good shape that I ended up taking it from him in exchange for my car (Lexus IS350) because I just didnt want such a great car to go to someone else.....its an absolute pleasure to drive
Scotty sold me on a 2000 GX. I was woefully disappointed with new options and here is a bulletproof v8 4 years old right in the depreciation sweet spot and not some crappy jeep. Granted i drove a 09 grand cherokee for 10 years with the 4.7 which the engine itself was awesome... the rest of the vehicle started to crumble.
Guys, Scotty is 100% bang on this video. I bought a 2013 Lexus Rx450h imported from japan with 80k km on the clock 3 months ago, runs like a brand new! As my first 'luxury' SUV I am so happy going with Lexus, If you are considering your first SUV you should at least look at some Lexus :)
Scotty nailed it on the GX series. I bought the 08 470 and had the timing belt kit done . Getting 17 on the highway with it. It feels great. The GX470's are getting popular for a quality low cost overlanding option. I will stick with Destination AT's from Firestone. I can spend more in payments on a new 4Runner in less than 2 years than I did on this . The GX has NAV, DVD, Bluetooth....all dated but works fine. I consider this itch scratched!
While shopping on a local Lexus dealer site, I noticed all the vehicles new and used had the term Kahu in fine print. I am hearing this is a tracking device for banks to track their financed vehicles, also for service but dealers aren't telling customers forthright.
My 2008 Lexus IS 250 still has its leather intact! At 120k miles as of late 2020, I know it’ll last me much longer. Superb car. I make sure I do the scheduled maintenance on time, and because of that she hasn’t treated me badly.
Yes initial cost for Lexus is high . But you will get 200k miles at least with no problems. Your children will be driving the lexus you bought and there children will be driving it .
No you will most certainly NOT get 200k miles with no problems. Timing belts must be changed every 7 years or 100000 miles. Your remark is that of a cretin.
Great video Scotty! I've been looking at a used *Lexus IS 350C.* I wonder if the hardtop convertible has too many moving parts, for a possible failure. My daily driver is a *2000 Honda S2000.* 😎
This is where Toyota Lexus have an advantage over Honda Acura. They have a wider range of platforms including body on frame SUVs. Honda is not a truck company. They make solid unibody platforms, but they aren’t a body on frame company like Toyota. An Acura MDX from the same year would still have a smoother ride, but wouldn’t feel as solid as this body on frame Lexus SUV and definitely can’t tow 8,000 lbs with as much ease or even at all.
@Diane Galdino That won't border you if you trade with a professional like Wayne Graham, My first investement with him earned me a total profits of $28,300
Scotty you need to correct the tow rating on the GX it's 6500 lbs not 8500 ? I have a 2011 with 130,000 miles and all I have done in 4 years is regular maintenance at the dealer.
@@ExplorerBen7 I’ve only heard of the 07s having transmission issues and even then, pretty rare. Those ES350s are really solid, my friend has an 07 he bought with 90k and he’s at almost 200k now
@@ExplorerBen7 I believe those last few years most of those issues were patched but yeah I got an 07 with faulty camshaft problems, shifting issues and unattended acceleration. You just live it with really, ive got almost 150k on the odometer but yeah they were manufacturing defects. I learned my lesson though and will never by the first year or two of a new model
...but Scotty, that thing is in show room condition! No way this car was parked under the Texas sun for 9 years! My guess is it was parked in an underground condo parking lot. That is one gorgeous SUV, and I hate SUVs.
I replaced my mechanical fan with an electric fan. It was worth it. Gas mileage and not having to replace clutches and fans (cracks where it bolts in) every 1- 2 years. Plus it opened up a lot of room in the engine bay.
You are so correct, Lexus is seriously undervalued. It is after all Toyota made. You convinced me to get a Lexus next! Thanks Scotty. Like button smashed.
I bought a used 2006 GX 470 for my wife which is 100 K miles at that time and we owned it for about 7 years now putting additional 80 K miles. The only thing we have to replaced are the brake pads, alternator and new tires. 14 years old now and still running smoothly.
Don't forget about the timing belt. They say it has to be changed every 90K miles but that is definitely an overly aggressive change schedule unless you drive hard and do off-roading. I just changed the original belt in my 06 GX with 156K miles and the belt looked very good, but definitely better to be safe than sorry. If it breaks, you'll have to rebuild the engine. Change the water pump, timing pulleys, and fan bracket while you're in there.

Ths Lexus looks line new. An advantage of these older ones, is that it doesn't have the big ugly grill that the new ones have
The grilles on the newer Lexus models are hideous
@8PassCharlie
You're right Charlie. Thing is, I'm always right... 😉
Exactly. I’m never trading my 2011 RX350 for a newer one. Those grills are hideous.
I like the newer grills. They look mean lol
Just bought a 2008 Crown Vic p71, thanks Scotty
Car dealer:Witch Lexus model do you want?
Scotty: *Y E S*
I just recently bought a late 60s model Murry bicycle made in larancburge Tennessee with huge wald front basket..
Don't think I've ever seen a man so deserving of the name "Scotty"
Guys, Scotty is 100% bang on this video. I bought a 2013 Lexus Rx450h imported from japan with 80k km on the clock 3 months ago, runs like a brand new! As my first 'luxury' SUV I am so happy going with Lexus, If you are considering your first SUV you should at least look at some Lexus :)
Best auto maker on earth toyota.king of autos..
I have a 2012 and love it. It's a very solid! Never had any problems
"Live Free or Die" Great book.
😎🇺🇸🦅🙏
Scotty nailed it on the GX series. I bought the 08 470 and had the timing belt kit done . Getting 17 on the highway with it. It feels great. The GX470's are getting popular for a quality low cost overlanding option. I will stick with Destination AT's from Firestone. I can spend more in payments on a new 4Runner in less than 2 years than I did on this . The GX has NAV, DVD, Bluetooth....all dated but works fine. I consider this itch scratched!
I love Lexus best brand
they are
GREAT STYLING.
While shopping on a local Lexus dealer site, I noticed all the vehicles new and used had the term Kahu in fine print. I am hearing this is a tracking device for banks to track their financed vehicles, also for service but dealers aren't telling customers forthright.
I've heard of that. If you're late on a payment they just deactivate your car.
I want lexus for my next car, unfortunately my corolla is still going strong
Try and break it. If thats poissible.
Loved the review, Scotty. Only correction: it is full time 4wd not all wheel drive.
my Dad taught me to "drive what you can afford" and " no way I am paying more for a car than I did for my house"
Loop holes you can live in a car you can't drive a house.
@@Sergiblacklist LOL - I love it
My 2008 Lexus IS 250 still has its leather intact!
Actually very accurate
No you will most certainly NOT get 200k miles with no problems. Timing belts must be changed every 7 years or 100000 miles. Your remark is that of a cretin.
Children part is so true
@@NeverTalkToCops1 460 has a timing chain, not a timing belt. 200k no problem.
@@dubya275 my 08 gs350 has a timing chain also very well made vehicles!!
my 04’ is300 with a manual is BULLET PROOF. never getting rid of it. been keeping up with regular maintenance, costs nothing.
That car can last forver...really.
I miss mine I have a gs300 now plan on aristo swap
Nice video just bought 2017 RX today due to the investment I made last month
Great news
@@etheruemcryptocurrency3222 Yes investing in Forex and Crypto is profiting
It's very important for one to have different streams of income☺
I've got interest in investing but afraid of doing it on my own to avoid loss from my own end 😕
@Diane Galdino That won't border you if you trade with a professional like Wayne Graham,
My first investement with him earned me a total profits of $28,300
I have a 2008 gx470, and almost 200.000 miles, its been cross country and still going. Oh and it looks beautiful still
My favorite suv. Hopefully getting one soon!
Scotty you need to correct the tow rating on the GX it's 6500 lbs not 8500 ? I have a 2011 with 130,000 miles and all I have done in 4 years is regular maintenance at the dealer.
I got lexus is250 f sport
Lexus my favorite I've been driving Lexus for 14 years I'm on my fifth one 2017 RX350 Had since brand new had no problems with it 🙂
Maybe if my 2004 Corolla ever explodes
Right lmao. Got one with 289,000mi, It’s Insane.
You mean never?
Got a 2015 GS, completely in love
I like the '07-'12 ES350
eh that generation had some problems though with engines, tranmissions, melting dashboards
@@theaajourney9872 dang really? Even the later years, '11-'12?
@@ExplorerBen7 I’ve only heard of the 07s having transmission issues and even then, pretty rare. Those ES350s are really solid, my friend has an 07 he bought with 90k and he’s at almost 200k now
@@ExplorerBen7 I believe those last few years most of those issues were patched but yeah I got an 07 with faulty camshaft problems, shifting issues and unattended acceleration. You just live it with really, ive got almost 150k on the odometer but yeah they were manufacturing defects. I learned my lesson though and will never by the first year or two of a new model
Idk I hated that design. The exterior looks good but the interior was a downgrade from the es330.
The es350 2014 and up is actually decent.
The 2020 Lexus gx460 got me turning my head every time I see them I must have one some day.
Got the same seats as my 2007 is 250
On my second Lexus RX - it's thirteen years old and drives like brand new
...but Scotty, that thing is in show room condition!
No way this car was parked under the Texas sun for 9 years!
My guess is it was parked in an underground condo parking lot.
That is one gorgeous SUV, and I hate SUVs.
I just picked up a 2006 Landcruiser with 99k. Couldn’t be happier!! Love it!
Love my 2006 RX330!
I replaced my mechanical fan with an electric fan. It was worth it. Gas mileage and not having to replace clutches and fans (cracks where it bolts in) every 1- 2 years. Plus it opened up a lot of room in the engine bay.
Cops in Tennessee are going to have to learn, "Oh, that's just Scotty making another video."
You are so correct, Lexus is seriously undervalued. It is after all Toyota made. You convinced me to get a Lexus next! Thanks Scotty. Like button smashed.
Prices have soared. I have a '98 LS400 and strangers still ask if it's for sale.
4:27 A Chevy with the hood up. Typical...
Exelente video, una camioneta en Exelentes condiciones....
Si, muy bonita, wow.
Scotty!! Make a video about surface rust removal. My GX460 is starting to rust from the mag chloride here in Colorado
