    My 5 yr old daughter, my wife and I are still around because of a GX. Thanksgiving 2017 we were t-boned in an intersection after dark and our Lexus rolled 6 times. Can't say enough good things about the safety, reliability and overall build quality. Not sure I would be here to type this if I had purchased something else.

      Glad to hear you came out unscathed. Did you replace it with another?

      @@DrivenCompanion Thank you. Yep. The exact same model and year. But white instead of black. Just to be more visible at night.

      @@79thump8 You were rolling over 6 times down the hill? How can you roll over 6 times on the flat ground?

    • @79thump8
      @79thump8 3 роки тому +9

      @@maniac32145 It was level highway. We were driving 40 through a green light. The back rear quarter was hit at 50 mph by a Ford Expedition. We were spun counter clock wise into a concrete median and the GX started rolling immediately. The witnesses confirmed the rollovers - along with the police report.

    I'm a big fan of the GX's, an awesome balance of off-road ruggedness and functionality while still luxury inside.

    Just bought a 2010 460 qith 136k miles for 18 grand out the door. Very very nice well kept suv drives super smooth highly recommend to anyone on the edge about buying a higher mileage lexus like this.

    Love my 2012 ! Thing is a beast off road ! Agreed with the side steps but can cut them. Still looks good, easy, and gives more space on the side of the suv.

    Awesome as usual! Minor correction: the 2014 is when they changed the front fascia, not 2013 ;)

    So good I bought 2 of them. Have a 2010 and a 2012, both with the same front end as the one in the video. Also, more ground clearance than the updated models. I'll drive these things till the wheels fall off, aiming for over 300k miles, we'll see

    Ready to give up my 2017 Subaru Forester XT for an older GX 460. Only thing I'm worried about is rearward facing child seats and how they fit. I'm 6'3" and my wife is 6ft.

    Do base models have ATRAC system?

    • @SeanMarroquin
      @SeanMarroquin День тому

      Yes. Atrac is automatic when diff is locked

  • @NRGRX
    @NRGRX 3 роки тому +1

    It appears that the GX460 is full time awd instead of 4x4 with the ability to go into 4x4 lo and lock the center. Is that correct? Bc essentially if it were 4x4 full time, it would basically be in 4x4 hi as default, which I heard you shouldn’t be in on dry pavement. Basically similar system to the older “4x4” highlander awd with locking center. I guess the main difference would be 4lo with atrac in GX460. I guess I’m confused as it seems to be both awd as default and gives you the option to go in true 4x4 Lo.

    • @DrivenCompanion
      @DrivenCompanion  3 роки тому +3

      Yes its got a fulltime 4wd system - same with the 4Runner limited. The fulltime 4wd is designed for use on drive pavement and is still very capable offroad.

    The power folding seats must be optional on these. I took a look at a 2014 (face lift model) that didn't have them, but our 2012 has them.
