i have been a barista for roughly 6 months and your video has given me answers to so many questions ive been too afraid to ask lmao
I think you forgot one very important point when ordering, which was addressed in another video: First thing, customers need to order a hot or Iced drink right off the bat, so correct preparation can be started.
THE RATIOS!! Cant stress that enough. Always always ALWAYS ask your coffee shop how they ratio thier cream to coffee to sugar to flavoring to the cup size if you dont just drink it black. Tim Hortons has (or at least had) one machine that dispenses cream and one that dispenses sugar and they both dispense different amounts depending on the CUPS SIZE. So a medium double double (two cream two sugar) tastes different than a large double double. Whats more, these "two creams, two sugars" arent the standard sized cups or sugar packets that you see at a diner unless you ask for them on the side. I dont remember the exact conversion but a small (about 8oz i believe) with "three creams" was like 6-7 oz of cream. Not very much room for coffee. There was one time the machine refills were out so you had to use the machine equivilant in creamer cups. A lady was absolutly mortified that her beloved large quad quad was (rough estimates, stopped counting at some point) about 36 creamers and about 20 sugar packets...
The caramel macchiato gets its sweetness from vanilla flavor at Starbucks. So if I want it a little bit sweeter I will ask for an extra pump of vanilla, not caramel. Crazy right? You would expect it to be caramel but actually no. I have no idea how it is outside of Starbucks because if I was outside of Starbucks I would order some thing way safer because I am way more accustomed to a basic latte.
When I order anything from a shop I make sure to speak calmly as if I’m speaking to a friend. A lot of people just know their order and spit it out as quickly as possible and sometimes it’s very hard to understand what people want, and that’s how you get your order messed up. Especially since I’m lactose intolerant and if I had a tall size of regular milk latte it will come up on me within 12 minutes. You can actually time that. So I speak calmly and I often just as a courtesy check if I did say soy milk instead of regular milk.
The nerdy answer to the first part is that Macchiato is Italian for “To Mark” so you’re marking the drink with Carmel drizzle
I've recently became a barista and your channel has taught me so much about coffee it's helped so much
Yay I’m so glad!! :)
Love your shirt Stefania ❤Great vid😊
Your videos are fun & informative thank you Stefania! 😂
Thank you!!! 😊
i watched through this entire video and i still don't understand anything but i still feel informed 🤣 love your videos!
I don't drink coffee, but I love Starbucks and all of their non-coffee drinks. And I love your content. I've learned so much! So when my friends order a flat white, a latte, or whatever, I know what the heck they're drinking!
This was so informative! Thank you 😊
i’m 17 and i really want to become a barista because of you 💕 love your vids
🩷🩷🩷!!!
It doesn’t matter whether you order a latte or cappuccino at the Starbucks in my area… you are getting a cappuccino regardless lol. I always say “no foam” so I only get like half an inch of foam instead of 2 inches or more
Until recently I thought a dark roast had more acidity than a light roast. Backwards!
Yes, more information, please! I love a tea latte, iced coffee, but my #1 order is a Flat White.
More to come🩷 Love a London fog myself
Love, we are kinship cause I don't like dark roast either. It's okay, but if there is a light or medium roast, *chef kiss*
The best, in my humble opinion 😏
🥰🥰🥰
Which category is a flat white?
do you do A-A 아아?
I usually order an iced coffee. But if I want to explore cold brew, would it make sense to order an iced cold brew with creamer? Or is that not a thing??
Yes you can order it that way. Some of our customers order iced cold brews with cream. You can have any milk or half & half added to it. Or have a vanilla sweet cream cold brew which is just cold brew, ice and vanilla sweet cream.
