She’s right about all of this! Not having any experience ever as a barista or even at any coffee shop, I spoke in person to the hiring manager/store manager and was hired on the spot. All this preferring to be as introverted as my heart can allow me to be lol.
Thank you so much, Stefania!! - this'll be my first professional job EVER & I'm super nervous... So, it's nice to have advice going into it (especially since I'm an introvert & really do tend to overthink everything).
I got my current food service job by submitting my application and going in the same day to follow up (I work in a small, single-store restaurant and the owner just happened to look at my application that day). Didn't even have to have an interview, I got hired on the spot
I could never at a coffee place. I work currently at Mcdonalds and do decently but I don't know if I could do a Coffee Place job since I would probably forget how to make the fancy complicated drinks 😭
I HAVE AN INTERVIEW THIS THURSDAY. I’m pretty nervous😭 This is my first official interview. Also I can’t talk to anyone in person at the store because it’s new one and they’re not opened yet.
All these tips seams great....but what if someono is deaf and can't lip read and doesn't know sign language and needs every conversation/interaction in writing instead of verbally. Cuz I have been trying to find a new job for almost a year. I'm even willing to do just part time at my states literal minimum wage with is $7.25/hr and still not a sing fast food, restaurant, or coffee shop will hire me. I have 10 years of past experience in the field but within the last 2-3 years I started losing my hearing and now I'm fully deaf and so being on the front counter or doing drive Thu is not viable for me anymore. So I'm mainly looking to do cleaning and stocking. I've applied to over 50 jobs in the last 6 months but still I never get interviews or job offers. I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong. I use to be able to get hired at these kinds of places wicked easy but lately it's like no one gives a damn that I have a decade of experience and reliability. The only struggle for me is my hearing so I can't take orders or be in the cooking area cuz I can't hear when there are sharp or hot objects around me. But I'm a hell of a cleaner and stocker. I'll even get on my knees to scrub a nasty toilet as long as I was getting paid for my shifts every week. I just need money, I haven't been able to pay bills in almost a year and had to move in with my boyfriend cuz I lost my own apartment cuz I couldn't afford it anymore. I'm just at the end of my rope and don't know what's going on.
hey stefania! i just got an interview at starbucks with onlince application but im not sure if i need to go in person before the interview date or after and also its on a Thursday so following up on a monday sounds a bit more than 72 hours honestly

How should an interview go if I don’t have any prior work experience?
Yes on first day education
That's awesome and helpful for people looking for jobs in industries like coffee shops!

Nooo! Taking what you know at McDonald’s and applying it at a coffee shop would be super easy 🩷

If they don't hire you when applying for a job you are able to do contact your local government office they is in charge of the ADD act
It may be time to switch fields to something that will allow you to not be up front.
Stefania is the face of coffee! Love her videos and yummy concoctions she makes ☕️ ❤

What are questions we should ask at the end of an interview?
