    *_A bonus effect is since the grape stems are not that stable, the trees move very easily on the board; giving them some life._*

      The hardwoods definitely sway... the pines are pretty solid. Good catch!

    I've seen a ton of tree tutorials and this is by far the easiest. Great job. I see some tree making in my future.

    Those are a cool alternative to using the seafoam, and probably a bit more sturdy. Thanks John!

    Thank you, its surprising how there isn't a polyfiber > clump combo video or article out there, was beginning to regret my purchases until I found this

    Those grape-vine pine trees make fairly convincing southern yellow pines, some sub varieties of which do have divergent trunks, unlike most pines and coniferous in general. I think where it really shines is the deciduous trees, they look truly stellar.

    Solid idea. I definitely thought of this but it's really nice to see your process.

    Pretty ingenious concept. Gotta love it when our kids give us a great idea. You make it look easy creating the mold. Great video. I will definitely add this to my tools box for future use.

    You could probably make for trees if you hang the "trunk" upside down while applying long static grass. That way the needles appear to be hanging when the tree is standing upright!

    I love the ones with flock, the ones with grass are a bit too 'impressionistic' for my taste :P Clipping off the tops of the vine branches (the 'knots') would be a start to improving these in a very easy way. Nice work nonetheless, thanks for sharing!

      Thank you!! I thought about snipping them off, but I thought they looked like pine cones :)

      @@TabletopWitchCRAFT ah right haha! sort of do now that you mention it. Either way, I'm sure they look great in bunches and when playing whatever tabletop game, speaking of which, have you ever considered making some sort of gaming table as a project to show off? A gaming table either with built in terrain, or with modular pieces of generic terrain (hills and forest mostly i guess), for DnD but also warhammer and other wargames. Because I'd love to see how trees like this would look on an actual gaming table, and lots of them, to really overwhelm the player in atmosphere; sort of quality in quantity. I think that's the main selling point of these trees, especially because they are so easy to make. (I imagine those old White Dwarf magazine photos of big armies marching through forests and stuff - which is unpractical in reality when gaming, but it sells the game like nothing else. And it would make for an absolutely amazing thumbnail for a video ;P). Cheers mate!

      @@TabletopWitchCRAFT Awesome! I think you could reach a whole new audience with this, especially with Warhammer the Old Wold coming out this or next year most likely, there's gonna be a lot of new wargamers looking for inspiration

    I had never considered using grape stems - perfect structure for a tree, not a pine, though. That's definitely a deciduous structure. Might could use a wrapping of wire on the main stem to stiffen the main "trunk", though. Easy enough to hide.

    How did you dehydrate the vines? Did you put them in a drying rack for like beef jerky or did you just place them in a dry and sunny place?

    • @TabletopWitchCRAFT
      @TabletopWitchCRAFT  Рік тому +1

      I put them in a dehydrator for about 12 hours. They get super solid.
