So refreshing to see you both running a business and, at the same time, sharing your genuine enthusiasm and helping us by making it cheap enough to be affordable regardless of income. I will buy geek gaming stuff if only to say thank you. Well done Luke, your a star.
I've always preferred to pick out individual stones before doing the final drybrush. Usually I'l go med grey base > pick out stones > light grey drybrush > lightest drybrush (if I'm going that far) > black wash so that everything has roughly the same level of weathering. Most of the tutorials I've seen reccomend picking them out late in the process like you do here, but they always end up looking newer than the stones around them because the color ends up being stronger. The sheet moss looks amazing as a foliage. Have you tried painting directly onto it or soaking it in an glycerine/ink solution to dye and preserve it?
We had two silk oak trees in the front yard where I grew up. I used to just grab the small branches and twigs from that to glue together for trees. Fast, cheap and easy! Brittle as all hell, but still, fast, cheap and easy lol.
I actually have the Tabletop World Tavern and I've been totally too timid to paint it! Your Friday Vid + some fortifying Dutch Courage might be the fix! Cheers!
I love your videos! I was inspired by a round water resin base that you made some time ago and I use your idea for a base of mine and I got some very good results and a ton of positive feedback at my local Warhammer shop! I’ll be a life long subscriber for now on. 🍻
Hymalian Birch are the white trunked trees my favourite tree of all! Iv got a dwarf Japanese cherry in my garden and have to prune it every year to keep her tight n dence lol that don't sound to right lol but anyways I use my bonsai lime sulphur it's for deadwood in bonsai and the cuttings I prune iv left to dry out naturally I wasn't planning on doing anything with them but they have come out solid and still got all the bark and knots and are to scale for 1.35 if use a couple just to see what looked like on a diarama base with a British 6pundr gun under them and my god I'll be pruning this tree bald soon lol its perfect for trees! I'll get that sea sponge stuff and make fake foliage for a couple I think iv just found a perfect real tree that dont rot and stays solid for.my diaramas! But I'll use my line sulphur for my bonsai tree deadwood preserver just incase but this will sure save me alot of mucking about and have realistic real trees lol
Awesome, I’ve just picked up loads of ideas from this vid for a project I’m planning eg EPVC board and that roller for the cobbles. Definitely worth putting in the extra effort for the tree ( great looking tree by the way ) when it’s going next to a building from Tabletop world. Looking forward to see this piece finished. Great stuff 👍🏻
Hi there have you got a link to which Woodland Scenics armature tree you use and best place to get them from, also i see you have sold out of tree foliage, when will you have more and do you ship to New Zealand?
so with the glue for the trees, carpet spray glue would be acceptable? sprayed from angels trying to avoid the trunk? you can get them with an applicator nozzel would this be as effective or more?
Hi Luke I'm looking to make some tree bases for my evergreens for frostgrave. Maybe sculpt one and cast them. But l can't seem to find any nice looking bases, do you have any ideas in making a nice tree base
Love this one, Hey Do You have anything on " Burnt Up type Trees?" I want to make a area that is burned out, from fire and I'm not sure how to just yet?? Any ideas anyone!! ?? Thanks Luke!!!
Easy peasy what would we do without Daz and No not the washing up powder, your Mum used to use in her weekly wash. As for the roller I use an alternative, a roller that comes with string unravelled and makes a great impression. Just a tip for viewers who don't want to spend money unnecessary. See you mate .
Can’t find the glue you use in this video, Luke. Do you still sell it? If not, what’s a good alternative? Is Copydex the same stuff (albeit expensive and branded)?
Dam I just put my order in 😂 lucky for me I got the forgot anything code , only down side is I got myself locked out my account but the Mrs set one up in her name , looking forward to using the mars base ready
I've had an idea for a while for a jigsaw type gaming table. So it's modular buildings, streets, etc. That are on tiles that can be placed next to eachother to create a fully detailed table. Has anyone else attempted this? I'd love to see luke give it a go I want a modern ish urban style board for Batman.
I tried to do that a long time ago, but I had no skills to do it. Used plywood as the bases for the parts and did some craters and such with paper mache. The plywood ended up twisting and breaking everything that was on them from the moisture. Also there is this video where Adam Savage interviews this guy who made a completely modular labyrinth and city: ua-cam.com/video/ebQU7GipJcA/v-deo.html (If the link doesn't work, the video is called: "Weta Workshop Sculptor's Tabletop Miniature World!")
I am doing some stuff like this at the moment, mixed cuts of mdf, nice and chunky with terrain on each so they can be placed to form a diorama or a battle table etc. Enjoying making them :)
Luke, I just tried to go to the US/Canada distributor via the link and got a "Connection not secure" NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID error. The UK one worked fine, fwiw.

@@GeekGamingScenics Okay, I clicked on the link that was posted here. Thanks for the update. I am glad that you also wear a respirator in your videos. Thanks for promoting safety and sharing such amazing videos and tips. I am in my 50's and just getting into terrain building. You are awesome.
I really like your video, but every time the music start, I need to lower the volume by 80%. Maybe you should not put the music this loud or increase the sound when you speak.

Dude! Love it! You know I look good trees but am too tight and too lazy to do them well enough :p hahahaha this is perfect.

Actually the "dodgy bloke" does pretty good stuff 😉 Can't wait for Friday!
That's rather a fine looking tree.
Hi bud a quick question can you latex this kind of tree? as you would when using seafoam? or is there no need.???
so with the glue for the trees, carpet spray glue would be acceptable? sprayed from angels trying to avoid the trunk? you can get them with an applicator nozzel would this be as effective or more?
When it comes to sealing flock, I've never been able to stop it falling off. Used PVA diluted but had almost no effect.
Great video. I always get great ideas from you. That tree is amazing.

I feel like the production on your links has jumped up in production quality recently, they really look fantastic at the moment!
Love this one, Hey Do You have anything on " Burnt Up type Trees?" I want to make a area that is burned out, from fire and I'm not sure how to just yet?? Any ideas anyone!! ?? Thanks Luke!!!
Tom Jones assembly, paint and then airbrush them with matt black
@@TheBlackFrog79 I will try that, thank you!! :)
Tom Jones flock more on the upper branches, and start airbrushing from bottom and fade the black going upwards
I would use little to no flock and keep most as skeletal as possible black undercoat with some white highlights (the ash)
I'd suggest making this tree, then setting it on fire until you get the desired result.
This was a next level video may man! Happy New Year!
Stumbled upon this video but I think you are great! So creative and clever! Good work! x
Where did you get this kickass paint rack from? :)
In today's episode Luke hits things with a brush :)
As a great man once said, beat the devil out of it.
A great addition to the awesome tree armatures! Very imaginative!
Looks really good man! #loveatree
Do you have a link to your tree foliage set...not sure which one it is? thanks
4:33 poor Treebeard, don't beat him! :(
is there a follow up to how you finished the tree off?

Where did you get the paint stand for your dropper bottles?
Can you use air dry modelling clay..?
Loving the pink lighting 🤣
It's a Scots Pine. Just superb.
Great stuff Luke, must try your tree foliage
What did you add to the tree at the end to solidify it?
