Behringer Super Fuzz, WILL IT CHUG?
Hi ola if i send you my demon tube screamer that I bought from wish would you do a will it chug or testing shit? Then send it back to me signed?
Ummm it sounds like a tube screamer with extra bass
@@Viking_guitarist I think it would be too much of a hassle for hime
the real question is can u make ur dime guitar chug without an amp LMAO
Just listen Electric Wizard - Dopethrone/Return Trip
or Monolord - Audhumbla
and you will understand how to use this pedal (fuzz mode 2)
No, but it Electric Wizards

interesting
It dooms
It DOOMS

Trying to chug with a fuzz pedal is pretty heretical. This little bastard is an absolute steal for 20 bucks if you're aiming for that sweet fuzzy Electric Wizard sound though.
exactly
Totally, I was definitely getting some sleep vibes too.
As soon as he clicked it on, it was straight up stoner to me haha

@@joshuasalgado4694 ahh this is the divide of the sub genre haha Electric Wizard Jus Oborn with the boss Hyperfuzz fz-2 (behringer sf300) and Sleep/high on fire Matt pike using big muff tones....both godfathers both kickass but slightly different🤘🤘
I think the amp was already chugging this time.
I was thinking the same thing. Start with a cleanish tone. This pedal is awesome however.
I agree with you.
Then he cleaned up the amp.
ua-cam.com/video/vZB6R9rkTRU/v-deo.html
@@lala66681 Hey, that's pretty nice. I like the modulation in the chorus riff. Good clean tone too.
This pedal is for heavy, bluesy, psychedelic, doomy, sabbath-worshipping riffs
Electric Wizard
Or Mudhoney. This pedal can get close to Mark’s Univox Super Fuzz tones and Steve’s EHX Big Muff tones.
@@mrrandmssbearyt5222 fu manchu!
Basically an FZ-2 clone with a shitty enclosure that costs 10 times less then the actual boss pedal, thank you Behringer for thinking about us poor people
or bedroom players, not everyone need a metal casing to stomp on stage😂
Thinking about how to get money out of poor people. I don't think there was any altruism involved :D
Added bonus - you can fiddle with it and activate fuzz 1/2 simultaneously if you position the switch just right. Sounds gnarly as hell
Funnily enough the FZ-2 is based on the old Univox Superfuzz.

Everybody: "Fuzz"
Ola: *Fuss*
The "secret" with fuzz pedals is in the output level of the pedal running into an amp with gain engaged. Keep the level LOW and gain up the amp to taste. I own many fuzz pedals and the Super Fuzz SF300 is amongst the best regardless of price. A secret weapon to obtain some of the heaviest of tones in the studio. It's not really for thrash or chugging, but it will crush your head.
with most fuzz pedals if you use too much clipping gain into a distorted amp it's going to sound like utter shit. I do the complete opposite, push the volume and turn the gain up just to where the clipping gain starts and no more.
Some fuzzes are happy maxed out into super clean amps. I used to run all fuzz pedals at max level into an Ampeg V4 and it worked great for like half my fuzzes.
The other half liked dirty amps. The guitar and cab also made a difference too.
I feel like I built my rig around fuzz back then 😂
When you want to Chug, but you actually Sleep.
Dude, yes! Such an underrated comment 👍
From Behringer's manual: "BOOST: The Level control is inactive and the Gain control adjusts the boost." - in order to use the Boost function on this pedal, you have to use the Gain knob. Maxing out the level does nothing as opposed to a common overdrive or Boost pedal. It chugged because the Dark Terror inherently chugs 😁
😆😆😆😆 hell nah
ua-cam.com/video/vZB6R9rkTRU/v-deo.html
I mean even with the gain at minimum it's still a pretty loud boost so it was still doing something. But yea he basically had a chug tone on the amp
Put him straight :D
I did not know this! Thanx man! Haha!
Hey mortals
Just listen Electric Wizard - Return Trip/Dopethrone

Fun fact, Time to die is in fuzz mode 1
@@trentkraemer7109 Yeah, and Time to die sounds good too!
It may be weird, but Behringer's Bass overdrive on guitar would be sick.
I used a bass amp tube screamer as a distortion pedal when I was first starting out 30 years ago! Holy shit was that awesome!
Dude it actually works, but only on 8+ string guitars, I have 12 THICC string on my 6 string guitar it I can hear the potential XD
@@Machinedmetal I use bass Distortion for leads
@@MeOwOgai I use 6 string strat and it chugs
I own this pedal and it sounds REALLY chunky on a bass. Tons of fun for such a cheap pedal
Welp. Looks like I’m gonna be listening to crowbar, eyehategod and weedeater today lol
Hell yeah
ohhhhh helllll yeahhhhhhh
Any day is a good day for Crowbar. I say this as a former Louisiana resident of 33 years. Really nice dudes, same with the guys in Eyehategod. These days I'm located in Austin, Texas.
ua-cam.com/video/vZB6R9rkTRU/v-deo.html
Funnily enough none of the musicians in those bands use fuzz pedals
This is a great pedal for doom metal and sludge stuff, can very easily dial some Dopethrone kinda tones with it. For 20 euros that is magic.
Yeah man! It can really hit lots of sounds when used right and that on such a little budget. Perfect for if you cant cranck the 100Watt in your Bedroom
Some Thermal Mass ❤🤘
Electric wizard uses the boss fz-2 and this pedal is a clone of the fz-2 so that would make sense
It appears that the 2021 price of 20 Euros has jumped to 27 Euros as of Nov 2023, perhaps there will be a good black Friday sale in a couple of weeks!
Someone: "Its A fuzz he is not gonna be able to make it chugg"
Matt Pike wants to know your location
My location is here. Lets go
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ola: alright, will it chug?
*plays stoner/sludge riff with no chugging*
Ola: is it chugging? No.
Fuzz's really sound best when an amp just has a light/medium crunch going in the background. The amp was already chugging before the fuzz was even kicked on.
I love how he does everything he can to get the shittiest sound out this pedal and it still sounds awesome.
Kohlekeller Studio (Kristian Kohle) made a fantastic video recently about how fuzz works, really underrated channel!
compared to your channel, even ola feels underrated lol
it basically makes the soundwave more complex giving it jagged edges (hence fuzz) which in turn adds a lot of overtones
dude they should do a sunday with ola thing where kohle teaches him how to record guitars because his mic placement kind of ruins the demos imo
ua-cam.com/video/vZB6R9rkTRU/v-deo.html
Didn’t expect to see you here
When will Ola create a Doom metal masterpiece? Come on Ola you know you want to make a Ufomammut-style track mixed with some heavy death doom elements and sludge like from Disma.
Like some Depal Death or Dopelord!!🤘❤
ua-cam.com/video/vZB6R9rkTRU/v-deo.html
Yes! I've been waiting for this one. I was hoping he'd know about the "secret" mode where you put the switch between Fuzz 1 and 2.
I’ve had an FZ-2 for years and never knew about this! Gonna have to try it.
It may only actually work on the SF300, not sure.
It definitely dooms
Will it Sludge
Definitely hearing some Primitive Man tones
Yes
So...are you going to start a segment called "will it doom?"
There's a great channel with that same name that's definitely worth checking out
@@ZOMBIELUIS666 absolutely - best channel for doom/fuzz!!!
I Fucking love my Behringer Super Fuzz! Especially the "boost" on it which normally people don't pay attention to, but that thing is awesome as well.
Yeah dude, with the Boost you can get both: cutting leads and nasty Rythms! In that mode I can use it for anything really
in the boost mode it absolutely can compete with any old rangemaster style treble-booster or lofi-style boost out there (for a multitude of the price) and added to a distortion it turns any sound into something unique and nasty, even into hm2 chainsaw territory. Mine is absolutely a secret weapon for extreme metal tones (just like a bias-fuzz like the carcosa).
It's all I use mine for, to boost my overdrive a bit.
@@ithemba Actually use the boost on my Korg "volca sample" Drum machine. It gives it this nice slapping hard-hitting sound without necessarily distorting it? But gives it this in your face punch!
The boost is killer! Gnarly garagey sounds in Fuzz 1, Electric Wizard in Fuzz 2, Windhand in boost mode if you slam a Rat with it. I love the way it thickens up and adds presence to my distortion.
That might be the first Berhinger I want to buy ! The way it degrades the signal when you let the note ring is just gorgeous - yeah, I'm a fuzz addict...
I've got some very expensive fuzz pedals, like over £200 or more. And my favourite fuzz is this one, the cheap arse behringer one. It's genuinely the closest to my ideal sound of a fuzz that I've ever found. It's just pure 60s fuzz, tearing and ripping, and perfect for big Black Sabbath riffs and power chords
Definitely try it. It's so cheap that it's worth a punt anyway.
On the boost setting, the gain knob controls the boost level, while the volume knob is shut off. The manual says it's intended for boosting low-output pickups at the beginning of your pedal chain. I don't think very many people use the boost setting.
"if hendrix played metal"
Top tip: by a broken metal-cased pedal and swith the innerds. Presto, metal cased Behringer for 30e.
I just covered mine in duct tape and super glued all the seams. Now, it’s 10x tougher and looks like a weird boutique pedal.
ua-cam.com/video/vZB6R9rkTRU/v-deo.html
I've literally had 3 or 4 behringer pedals for over _12_ _years_ now, and they're in perfect condition. 12 years of constant use and abuse and there's mot a scratch on them. Meanwhile I've got more expensive pedals with metal casings that have failed on me and need fixing before they'll work again
The behringer pedals don't need to be re-cased
_HOWEVER_ if you really must do that, just get the TC Electronic version. TC Electronic own behringer, so their cheap budget line of pedals are literally the exact same circuit boards as the behringer pedals, except put inside a metal case, and then they charge you £10 more. But again, you don't actually need to do that, because the plastic cased behringer pedals are very tight in the first place
@@_DeadEnd_Do gigs on zoom calls 😂😂
Okay, before anything, it is about time that I subscribe to this awesome channel! I have come here enough and I have even used the line "Will it chug?" with my friends, so I at least owe you a sub for stealing your line!
Now, I just bought this pedal for $20 bucks (American) and it did chug...well, at least $20 bucks worth of chug! Unlike you, I really love the sound of fuzz.... In the fuzz department alone, I gotta have at least ten pedals; if not more. Fuzz is a sound that takes me back to the '60s and '70s so I love truly LOVE this sound very much. Anyway, thank you for all the chugging that you do, my friend.
Just to recap, I am now an official member of the "chuggers'! And, just in case you didn't know, that is what you need to call those of us who follow your channel...We're chuggers! -- You're welcome. So, next time you start a video, "Welcome, Chuggers" is the go-to phrase! Thanks again, Chugger supreme!
This pedal is so sick. This and Op Amp reissue that EHX did are awesome.
I did exactly same way to boost and add a little bit "FUZZ" saturation with Z-vex Fuzz Factory pedal. Nice tone btw I love that.
Lol, I use some Behringer gear. I like their bass di pedal and their tuner works great. Their sound gear is where they shine. I worked for years on the x32 board and loved it. It wasn’t much different than the Midas board at a larger venue. I somewhat built my own system off an X1 and an X mini and it’s decent once you learn the workarounds and programming. One day I plan to pick up an x32 producer board, or go full on and grab the full size 32. As far as pedals I know some people covet their metal pedals but the build quality gives me the willies lol. I really enjoy using the Electro Harmonix bass muff in my guitar chain for fuzzy goodness. Great video man. ✌🏻
I've got four or five Behringer pedals, I was really blown away by how good they sound honestly.
"you can buy four of them" "if you break one, throw in the new one" I think you mean run all of them at the same time. with the same settings to absolutely see yourself to the riff filled lands
hell yeah brotherrrrrr
fuzz is such a cool effect. for those like me that don't own a fuzzpedal but have something like an hm-2 clone (i use the Eyemaster) and a boost pedal with controllable eq, both at once with the boost focused on bass frequencies, you can get that great fuzzy sound.
sounds like instant chug ola😂 is at it again! 👍 always a joy to watch my friend. much love! from the 🇺🇸
Awesome and very versatile pedal, the boost mode alone is worth the verry reasonable price! Great demo, thanks!
I have one of these and it is pretty good, but for a fuzz pedal that will chug try a DOD Carcosa. That has immense amounts of gain.
Behringer are also a good choice if you're on a budget. Picked up the wah pedal for €30 and can adjust the frequencies for both bass and guitar. They make great sounding gear for the price.
Hey I'm not a guitar player but somehow I arrived here and I have to say that you my friend are very entertaining. I watched your video and the highlight for me was when you said "if you use treble or too much treble it sounds like ass!". This is my favourite quote of the year so far. Thanks and keep chugging whatever that is?
lol, best compliment a guitar player could get!
Hey Ola, something to mention is that in the boost mode the level does nothing and the gain becomes the overall volume. So you can get way more boost out of it
Ive had this super fuzz for awhile now. I play it through a clean channel on setting 2 for a dark muddy chug. It sounds better before an mt-2. The boss allows for cleaner highs and a little bit of EQ.
Put the selector half way in between Fuzz 1 and Fuzz 2 and it engages both circuits. Dead to rights sick fuzz there. Also, dimeing the level and bass with the gain and treble low on the second fuzz is great too.
Love your channel dude and your music 2❤🤘🏻
With my amp (Fender BJ III) and my guitars (Strat and Tele) I couldn't really get myself to like the 2 Fuzz variants but to my surprise I find myself still liking and using the pedal's Boost setting for a really decent overdriven sound that's a bit dirtier than that of my over overdrive and which reacts quite nicely to rolling up or down the guitars' volume knobs as well.
And yeah: the pedal sort of feels cheap in terms of construction, but so far it hasn't been kicked off my pedal board yet as I find the sound I get from it useful after all...
That Dark Terror sounds savage with that guitar. I've noticed those pickups have a lot of bite to them, and I really like the sound. Also this should be retitled to Will It Doom?
Sweetwater called you out on the Wampler Ratsbane video. Would that mini pedal make a metal chugging sound? The world needs this, and you are the only person who can give it to them!
Whoah, it sounds pretty gnarly for a cheap pedal. It might be worth trying since they're basically a dime a dozen. I love the tone of that Orange amp you got. I had the Orange Crush 12 for a while but I sold it to invest on a used Peavey Bandit. I kinda miss that lil' amp though, I had a blast with it at the time.
You were getting into Matt Pike territory, for a second. This pedal has some potential!

@@lala66681 Wow, super dark. I need a translation for the lyrics, but that video is an all too familiar scene. On one hand, I'm glad the USA doesn't have a monopoly on misery. On the other hand... I feel so sad for this world. Great song/ video, though. Thanks for sharing!
Got the HM 300 and I love it for the price sounds . It definitely CHUGS!!!!
I have one these battles and absolutely loved it
The 1.5 mode on low gain is my fave option. Weirdly smooth open fuzz with a high octave.
I still use a fuzz face often into this or a π
I recently tried out my bass players Orange "fur coat" fuzz and an original BOSS FZ-2 I bought, comparing how they sounded blended with another signal going through a preamp. The FZ-2 (which this pedal is replicating) worked best mixed, giving a very Slamy/grindy crunch in the low end of the sound while the Orange pedal sounded way better on its own, but wasn't as distinct/broken when subtlety mixed in with the other signal. I used up to 25% of the fuzz-signal vs the pre-amp signal into the amp and cab.
I got the inspiration to try this out from Khole and it sounded quite interesting with our setup. I may actually use it for certain things.
DUDE I just came upon the Solar dime slime V (I know it's not called that and I mean no disrespect) man it looks so killer, well done brother.
Had a tough time chuggin but man that thing has a dirty sound
This is one of my main fuzz pedals on bass, and for the $26 I paid, I love it. Even did a demo on my youtube page 😁
Oh it chugged Ola!!!🤘❤🤘
I have this pedal and use Fuzz 1 into the effects loop of my amp. It actually chugs like crazy when used like that IMO.
Epic pedal! Currently in the process of rehousing mine to a metal enclosure!
Also Ola, if you read this, try next time to have your amp on a slight overdrive, fuzz on mode 1, dial it pretty heavy, put your guitar on the neck pickup and play with your volume knob on the guitar!
i bought one a few weeks ago and love it. i know sweetwater has all the behringer pedals on sale for like 19 bucks.
I special ordered this pedal too it’s a great Fuzz!
At least we can all afford a Hyper Fuzz now
I haven't watched yet but I have one of these. They can get mean sounding and chug nicely. Now let's hear your setup. 🤘🏽
Update: you spent more time doom riffing than chugging. Not complaining.
Chill review 🤘
Sounds awesome I will pick one up
Running a fuzz into a Boss Blues Driver can give you monster tones. I was blowing my ears out with that for hours last night
Sounds alright on it's own. I like the orange.
That pedal shines through clean sounds
Move the mode switch to 1.5 (in between modes 1 and 2). It sends the input signal to both modes and it sounds really good.
Hi Ola!
Could you make a video about swedish metal history, metal scene of 1990 - 2000. Göteborg metal groups and how it all developed and became initially what it is today?
Black Sabbath riffs would sound great with that “tone”.
Twinote has a pedal called Fuzz PI....red one with 4 knobs.....25 bucks.....into my DSL 20 combo is Instant first album Sabbath sound
Am I stupid or does it kinda sound like mick Mars I’m new to guitar like 1 month in but I kept feeling like it sounded like Mick Mars
No. This pedal would not make it on a BS album. Sounds horrible.
Some pretty tasty tones out of that. Reminds me of Kyuss.
Great tone for 90s alternative rock/grunge.
Dirty but i like it ! Thank you Ola for making me re-listening to Monolord "Empress rising" 🤘
As a stoner rock / doom metal guy this is one if my favourite pedals out there. Especially for the price.
Actually sounds good, might pick one up now
On boost, put a GEQ after it with 400hz fully cut then into 5150 style lead channel with a bit of pre amp gain. Modernish but gnarly.
Keep rewatching this because I fucking love that Charvelle, and the fuzz is pretty nice gotta get one.
Try setting the mode knob between fuzz 1 and fuzz 2 to create blended sound. Great cheap pedal it is.
Yeah the secret 4th fuzz setting.
Hey Ola love your channel bro. I was wondering what you thought about the Mesa Boogie Tone/Burst Clean Boost Pedal. Will it Chug?
I love this section!
That guitar is sick AF. As far as the pedal, it sounded doomy and i dug it for the cost.
Sf300 is one of my favorite pedals period
I remember my mooer blade in that sound. That is small, but also a great pedal.
With the switch in the boost position the level dial is inactive, and the gain dial controls the boost/level. So you didn't really try it at max boost at all. I think the boost mode is awesome and has a lot more boost than most other boost pedals, and then is cool as you can adjust the EQ.
The sound with the boost function engaged sounds very similar to the guitar sound on Morbid‘s My Dark Subconscious in the beginning
I honestly loved that tone, but I think that's just because I love Royal blood, soundgarden, smashing pumpkins
The wait list for SF300 is getting to KoT levels
Glad I bought mine back in 2016, when most of the plastic Behringers were sold in the thin plastic/cardboard casing.
Try to get your hands on some of the old Peavey pedals from late 80s. Built like fn tanks. The color of this one reminded me of one of those Peavey pedals. Might have been a chorus
Ohsht that guitar man 🔥🔥
the thing I found with the behringer pedals and as good as they are for the money, they're super susceptible to to noise and feedback. I dunno if the lack of metal in the enclosure would do that, or just cheaper components. I still have 4 of them on my board, including the crappy noise reduction.
The gain knob works as the level knob in boost mode, so all you did was boost the treble a bit lol
1968 Super Fuzz clone. Very popular pedal because of sound, price and versatility,3 pedals in one. Great budget chug monster. Boost with a clean overdrive or tube screamer.
Is it just me or did it kinda sound like there was a blanket or something over the cab mic?
I have this pedal. It was cheap as hell but I love it. Recommended.
5:20 I rember why i bought the pedal and love it. Its such a fun pedal to mess around with and play simple drop tuning riffs.
Been enjoying your content for a while. Great stuff. Since you kind sir have taken a stab at cheap pedals, would you take a look at Joyo Pocket Metal, please? It's only EQ pot is dubbed "Mid", so it means bussiness, right? :)
Hi Ola! Nice guitar, where's the pick up selector?
Would love to see this vid and Kristian Kohles video in Fuzz-Pedals in Metal in collaboration-mode.
